    Keep preaching, Mehdi, we need the DNC in the balcony seats to hear you!
    It never ceases to impress me how immigrants to this country know more about its history and laws, as well as showing singular belief in our ideals. We need more people like you, John Oliver, Craig Ferguson, the many small business owners, first responders, professionals, laborers, and Armed Services members and veterans, who bring this vitality and dedication we so desperately need.
    May we stand strong to keep our country intact, until we can become the country of civil rights and freedom we need to be.

    • @realzachfluke1
      @realzachfluke1 Рік тому +10

      And even then, let us still stand strong for each other, for this country, and for the ideals we eternally aspire to reach.
      Because of course the reality is, it's always going to be an active process to maintain America and our democracy, even in a perfect world, under perfect circumstances. So it's our job to do as much as we possibly can while we're here to pass on a better, freer, and more just country into the hands of the next generations, and on that note, Medhi Hasan is absolutely one of the best proponents of the America that we believe in. People like Medhi show us what real love for a country looks like through their actions, and nobody here should be shocked to find out that loving America inarguably requires a love for its people, all of its people, not just the groups that we agree with. Advocating for universal healthcare for example, that is free at the point of service, and freely accessible to EVERYONE, completely irrespective of employment status and what some private for-profit corporation thinks you deserve (a system like almost literally everywhere else in the world), doesn't mean that you agree with the rabid right wing extremists who would also benefit from having healthcare. It just means you understand what's right and what's wrong when it comes to human life.
      Advocating for that is what loving America looks like. Advocating for universal voting rights and ACTUAL proportional representation of our citizens in every state and at the federal level (meaning no more electoral college or partisan gerrymandering that cuts people's voices out of the process, just so one party can give themselves more power than they've earned) is what loving America looks like, and I could go on and on. But Medhi is all of this and more, and I'm super grateful for the work he's doing lol. That was my point in all of that 😂

These earnings were already taxable so this is not a change in tax law, but rather just a reporting change.
      This rule is aimed at individuals who run a side hustle, small business or do part-time work. So if you’re just sending money to friends for a restaurant bill or a vacation, or collecting a one-time payment for selling something online, this won’t apply to you. Your point is? If you want to know where the money has gone with the Defense Department contact your local Congressman's office and request that informations.

Michigan was a key state involved in handing the White House to Trump--responsible for appointing Barrett, Gorsuch, and Kavanaugh to the court. Policy, budgets and agendas are political but the law should be above petty political alliances. The US legal system is really strange to outsiders. In the UK your individual opinions are kept apart from your adjudications. Precedent and new legislation set the law. Not in an opaque way that allows partisan interpretations either. The politics of judges just isn’t a factor in their jobs.

The only thing 'out of place' being those State Legislatures that flipped to Democrats. It will be so obvious too, because the only reason this case was even heard was the Supreme Court members salivating at this move that would have to change vote.

    A point from other commentators on Meidas Touch network which may address the outcome here - the Supreme Court has self-interest in preserving the Democratic process. This is why they have opposed Trump at just about every turn in his attempts to overturn the election and install himself as an Executive Dictator. A country which is governed by Autocrats has far less use for a Supreme Court, except perhaps to grant them the appearance of legitimacy. But doing so would inherently further erode any semblance of that legitimacy in the eyes of most Americans. I don't believe they will go along with it.

    The reason the Supreme Court has never favored state lawmakers in cases like this is because the legislative branch only has the power to write the rules.
