hip hop heavy yah daily nu metal
This, my friends, is how it all started
THIS IS WHEN HE DID IT
Lol
That look on his face when the beat kicked in is priceless.
The day he opened the door to the real world
Welcome to the metal heads
As Corey would say " there are no genres, only music".
Jay Bisser wisest words I ever heard
Having fans worldwide is proof that music is a universal language.
Hell yeah
Also Corey Taylor:
"pop music is insulting"
@@gonlegos Pop is a fuckin shit. Not even music lol. ( new pop,) i can appreciate the old pop songs
Alex in 2018: This is not something I would listen to on the daily basis.
Alex in 2019: YO, SLIPKNOT PUT OUT A NEW SONG, I'M SOOOOOOO EXCITED!!!!!
I swear i was thinking the same thing. Now look at him lol #metalhead
I think if anybody can turn someone into a Metalhead it's Slipknot 🤘🖤
Only fools never change their minds

SLIPKNOT IS AMAZING WHO ELSE IS A MAGGOT?
You mean a member of the Metal Army Gaining Ground On The Society? Yep \m/
This guy for sure! I've only had the blessing of seeing them 3 times as they don't come around my area very often but been a maggot since Iowa
Hell yeah!
👋👋👋🤘🤘🤘
Let’s go!
Fun fact: they had actual fans come in and tear that house up.
The Relevant Nerd yeah
RIP the house
I believe it was in West Des Moines. Had some friends go to it.
The whole video cost half a million to shoot, due to them having to pay the homeowners for the damages.
Nice pic
Blackwell probably would’ve been cheaper to just buy the house
"Its not something id listen to on the daily." oh past alex you're so naive
metal is like any good drug. if you don't abuse it it will be your friend for life !
@@robertidonotsharemyfullnam496 but you can never overdo metal \m/
@@kaustubhbajpai12 you can my friend you can.. u'll find out eventually ^^
@@robertidonotsharemyfullnam496 Cool! Looking forward to it xD
everyone's like that when they think that they arent into Metal, Metal is emotion, you feel it, to truly not be into Metal you have to be a Robot or something.
Alex in 2018: not a thing i listen to on a daily basis
Alex in 2019: YO THIS IS MY FAV METAL BAND
Alex in 2020: i can't believe i missed this song, I'm so sorry
I love how this guy is so open for diffrent types of music
And then there's the other people who throw a fit
so this is the song where your metal infection came from, good starting point
The best part about this music video is that the band got word out that they were doing a music video, and any fans of the band that could get to that area should head over there and they could be part of it. Those people are all fans of the band that all got to go to what was probably the most intense live show ever. It's the most expensive video that record label has ever made too. Wish I was there.
Samoclese damn I wish I was too! Sounds great
Fact: Slipknot fans are affectionately known as "maggots." yeah. You love what you love
That's weird.
Ethan Pease no u (;
@@bluejay8676 WTF?
Ethan Pease search up “no u meme”
Ethan it’s from Before I Forget By Slipknot
this is why metal should have more publicity and it also brings people together
#6: Yeah I'm in a band!
Guy: Cool, what instrument do you play!?
#6: I'm a clown and I hit a beer keg with a baseball bat!
Jedi Jesus 😂😂😂😂
Nah I was thinking more of Duality live in Quebec City, Canada. And I've never seen the comments on Killpop untill now, so I never knew about those.
The satanic cowbell
Ian Evans I'm never gonna see a beer keg and not think of satanic cow bell now thank you xD
Percussionist, then?
When Alex became a maggot.... Good old days :D
Going back and watching this again knowing how much you've learned about metal, the metal community and having gone to the trivium concert is definitely eye opening as to what a person can learn and experience in just a few months
Is anyone coming back to this video after watching Alex react to this a year later??
it’s 2 years after this video came out and he’s now a huge metal head. We did it guys 🙏
5:05
and a new metal head clawed his way out of the womb, ready to headbang in inappropriate places, drink beer like it's going out of fashion and where leather like it's the apocalypse. He looks around, slightly confused at first, until he hears a double bass and warped chords in the distance. He stands up with some difficulty and starts shuffling off towards the concert, practicing his moshing along the way.
Welcome to the family bro :p
That was... beautiful.
The moment Alex's life changed forever.
Corey is a fantastic vocalist, easily one of my favorites.
Kagura :v
Subsribed because you're so open mind and don't judge this genre like 99% of people do. Great!
welcome to the family! i enjoyed this
DON'T EVER JUDGE ME
1:28
Ahh shit, Slipknot has alerted the horde...
-The only guy in the room who still plays Left 4 Dead
That's actually funny lol.
Lmfao
Then there were two
You still play homie?
Yes
7:45 I almost fell out of my chair wahahaha!
PLEASE REACT TO “snuff” by slipknot. It’s very slow and acoustics. He actually sings and is mind blowing
Nine months later he does
It’s trash
@@jonbryant610 Yea it's not slipknot. If you wanna hear quite and acoustic listen to stone sour Coreys other band.
Quinn Kelly I hate quiet and acoustic I love Iowa
@@quinnkelly5535 Maybe not for you or others, but sometimes you gotta try something more...Out of the box. I honestly love Snuff and I love that Slipknot wrote a song like that. But hey, everyone has the right to an opinion, and I can respect yours or others' opinions
They full on rap in their song Spit It Out
Stubby Burrito oh man for real?! I gotta check that out
Alex Hefner they rap in quite a few songs to be honest. The lead vocalist, Corey Taylor, is VERY versatile like that
Corey Taylor is super versatile man. He freaking writes poetry. Dude is super smart and talented and probably likes hip-hop. Heavy metal is my favorite genre, but hip-hop is probably my second favorite. Great video dude.
His best rapping imo is on the track Only One. Amazing, albeit short lived in the track itself.
Stubby Burrito that's kinda what Nu Metal does.
So this is where you first turned into a maggot (that's what a slipknot fan is called) ,, I'm a 49 yr old maggot, I just started listening to them about a yr ago.
Been a maggot since 5 yrs old 😂
So about 8 yrs bouta be 9
Since 11 so 5 years
I was ten so about 14 years
DarthRevan 69 fucking hell
No one:
Hip hop heads: the “beat”
As a teenager I struggled with very heavy migraines this song has a special place in my heart.
This is when you first started getting into metal! Glad your such a big metal head now
Alex: There all chiled now.
Corey Taylor: I push my fingers into my eyes!!!!!
Just going back in time here, and im glad this was your first slipknot song. Songs like this and "before I forget" are very easy songs to get introduced into slipknot for the modern viewer
I've literally gone down a flipping wormhole of your reaction videos in the last 2 weeks and I'm just seeing this. I was curious to know what Slipknot song you reacted to first. This is crazy because this the the song that made me a fan, bro! Hopefully you're going to the show at the woodlands because I'd love for you to hear the story if I run into you. Anyways man, keep doing your thing and congrats on the channel.
Yes!! Slipknot concerts are the best Ive been to! Absolute madness and fun and all the feelings, argghh I need to see them again lol. Love them.
100,000 views?! i really can't believe it! my previous highest played video was a kpop video with 14k views on it. thank you so much to everybody who has showed love and support
Alex Hefner that's not how you head bang
Alex Hefner hell yeah yeah bro you deserve it and just saying if you wanna see metal bands spitting bars do a video on five finger death punch and listen to the song the pride 🤘🔥 please bro you will fucking love it 😂
I think you might like the songs "Wait and bleed" and "Spit it out" from their first album. They both incorporate hip hop and those are the songs that got me in to slipknot in the first place
Alex Hefner dude if you wamt to hear some REALLY CRAZY shit, listen to Infant Annihilator "Unholy gravebirth" they are a deathcore band and they are purposefully "over the top" and "extreme". Their music isn't really meant to be taken seriously, but it is absolutely insanely heavy.
can either go with The Pride, The Way Of The Fist or normally listening to rap and hip hop check out their cover of Mama Said Knock You Out with Tech N9ne, really can't lose with ANY Five Finger Death Punch song
Best Lyrics, best video, one of the best multi-talented bands of all time. Very underrated band. Anger is one of the most natural emotions we experience as humans, though we are told time after time to never ever express it, keep it locked away, hold it in. Through music like this, I get so much anger out of my system just by listening to people who are screaming out their feelings at the top of their lungs. It's very emotional, symbolic and therapeutic.
The last slipknot world tour was my favorite music experience of all time. The intensity was beyond anything I've ever experienced.
RIP Paul Gray
Thanks for your videos dude. Greetings from Russia) Keep it going)
Свои)
Максим Неплох F for respect
Sleeparalysis have a good day bro
This was my first Slipknot song...ever....love at first "hearing"
5:09 always gives me chills
I believe this came out in 03’ or ‘04; this song brought Slipknot to the masses where people other than their fans or metalheads enjoyed them. And also their first hit song where there was no swearing
This is very soft heavy metal from Slipknot, try The Blister Exists from this album.
Nicholas Herman I can definitely do that!
Alex Hefner you can also try "Spit It Out"
Hi, Ultimate SlipknoT fan here :) listen to the album IOWA, that's a really different SlipknoT than you listened in this video haha
Alex Hefner much respect remind me of me i love hip hop but slipknot is my fav band all time also that clip of a concert was spit it out great song
Iowa is the heavier of slipknot albums. "People = shit" is a must!
Love this man!
For the music video, the band invited fans to come to the house and basically do whatever while they filmed. They had to pay for the damages to the house. They even said they didn’t know the house had a basketball hoop.
what?!?! that is amazing hahah
TheBatman104 and Roadrunner even said that this was the best music video they ever filmed if I'm not mistaken
it was a foreclosure but that is besides the point.
That was the first song i ever heard from slipknot and also the song that got me into metal....
THANK U SLIPKNOT!
YOU MADE MY LIFE BETTER😍
It started with Before I Forget and I have loved listening to Slipknot since then
This is litterally how it got me into metal back when I was 12. It was this that hooked me and then the steady evolution to the most obscene hardcore music I can find 😂
Hey Alex next slipknot song for you?
Slipknot - Snuff
Thanks for making these videos man they are awesome and I love slipknot and duality and snuff are two of my favourite songs!
Iv gotta say Alex.... I really enjoy watching thez reaction videos. And u HV now BCUM if not my absolute favorite person.....yr certainly up there as 1 of my very favorite. Keep'em comin! 😁💗
Love these metal reaction vids, man! Keep them coming. Subscribed!
This is SO COOL! I love it when you venture outside of the genre. - - Don't let them crispy old folks fool you...those "old people" were on the daily watching Mtv's Headbanger's ball (1987-1995)... and singing all the lyrics to every song off Antichrist Superstar. Ha Ha Ha!!! And there were a lot of brotha's and sista's getting down to Downward Spiral (Nine Inch Nails was about as Headbanger as most of us get.) Ha Ha! And don't forget that one hit wonder "Cult of Personality" from Living Colour! - Plus in 2006 I was introduced to a genre called "Screamo" with a band named Underoath. - - - Alright alright... I better shut up about all my Gen X memories or we'll end up singing the Mtv Unplugged version of Lithium. Ha Ha!
hahahaha this comment was pure gold! im glad you like the video bro :)
Umm,i thought screamo is not a genre.
GSMON GAMING Ooops... you're right. A quick Google search... and what is stated is Screamo is "a style of Emo" - Emo is defined as a music genre. Thanks for double checking that for me.
Haha dude I know this is creepy but I wanna be your best friend. Coolest comment ever
Chris C Thanks, I'm a total goofball and a bit "Cringy" but I'm working on getting better! Ha ha. I appreciate the friendship. Hefnerds for life!
‘Duality’ is from Slipknot’s third album, ‘Vol.3: the Subliminal Verses’. Corey Taylor (the vocalist) intentionally wrote the entire album curse-free, because his songs are usually so filled with them, critics believed he couldn’t write without cursing.
As the above might suggest, I’m one of the metalheads this video brought in. I really like your high energy, and your willingness to branch out to genres you normally don’t go to impressed me. I am now subscribed.
When your parents go out for the weekend and you organize a house party.
I LOVED this reaction video. You seem genuinely interested in what you listen to and give really interesting opinions about it
saw Slipknot in the title pressed th thumbnail
Of course dude,It's Rock&Roll🤘🏻
Oh I love how you are so open minded !!! Please make more Metal reactions , Gojira would be awesome 👌 Stranded or The Art of Dying are really good
Marian McGregor there is more metal on the way! Thank you for watching 😬
Gojira is absolutely amazing! Stranded is a great intro song.
yes yes yes gojira is an exellent suggestion
AND Toxic Garbage Island, straight fire man
Yeeeeeeah Gojira!!!
the little clips you edit into your videos are funny as hell. 10/10
look at him now…
you’ve come a long way my friend..
If you like hip hop you need to listen the music Spit It Out
Man, try these-
Korn - freak on a leash;
Rammstein - 'mein herz brennt' and 'itch will';
Disturbed - Sound of silence
I LOVE That this is the song that set you on your journey
I am thoroughly enjoying your reactions! You are a good sport for taking a walk into the metal side! Slipknot has a lot going on in their vids and lyrics AND instruments. 🤘🤘
Hahaha, watching this intro now is hilarious, I had no idea you ever did hip hop and kpop reactions, thought the whole concept was always reacting to metal.
And back to the start of it all.
I love this guys reactions, they're always so good
I love you're reaction videos, i recently start watching to your channel first at SOAD toxicity, then to slipknot's psychosocial and then this, the Duality..So yep!..and for your great reaction, i now subscribed
Music: the Great Sound of Unity!
RIP LEGEND JOEY
YOU WILL BE MISSED BROTHER
Keep it up man. Love the reactions.
This was also the first slipnot song I ever heard. Bought one of the old ATV off-road fury games for ps2 and this song was in it and I freaking LOVED it. I’m not SUPER into them, but I do really like quite a few of their songs
You should check out some Slayer "Raining Blood" for a non- beginner type of Heavy Metal. By the way, I'm 52 and have been listening to Metal since the 70's. So, not all "old" people are as lame as you may think...
Paul Wilson Rock on \m/
My mom is almost 60 and she loves all my favorite music
Slayer - Raining Blood, Slayer - Angel of Death and Slayer - Dead Skin Mask are my 3 top fav slayer songs
Have just hit 50 and still listen to thrash every day
Paul Wilson I'm 44 and will always love heavy metal. It sounds good therefore I like! Lol😄😃
okay I am subbing bra!
welcome to the family my dude!
I honestly thought for a second that you said “I subbed your bra” 😂
Goddess Of Darkness i read the same thing. Lmao
Only if you wear bra!
As a long time fan of Slipknot, I'm so glad you decided to join us on this journey.
And look at you now.
Came here from "gen z reacts to slipknot." I saw the poster and you were rockin out, obviously a fan. This video is great because I see a maggot in the making. Stay sic, bro.
Yaaaa!!! More metal!!
Alex Jany you got it!! 👍🏼👍🏼
You are too cute & I love how you don’t judge these other types of music !
Hey Alex! :)
I've been here, watching your metal / rock reactions for the past few months (yep, true metalhead, can't deny it) .. basically by accident ^^ .. but I love 'em! Your positive energy really makes my day everytime. Especially during these hard times right now, that's a real help for the mood .. I can tell you :D .. so first of all: THANK YOU VERY MUCH!
So .. besides liking and subscribing, I thought I'd give you a special treat by recommending something, that you'll probably have never even heard of ;)
I'm from Germany .. and here we have a very special metal band, who are doing something honestly spectacular in my eyes ..
THEY ARE DOING A'CAPELLA METAL o.O!!
That means, apart from a drumset, they are not using a single instrument besides their voices :D
And from my personal experience I can tell you, basically nobody believes this until they have seen them live .. because they make it sound so real at times, that it's just unbelievable ^^
The band is called "Van Canto", they are doing a lot of covers of original metal songs, but they have their own creations as well which they don't need to hide under their covers (pun intended)!
As a hardcore fan since the beginning, it's really hard to choose a song for you to react to, but I could at least limit myself to three ^^ .. so you can choose for yourself:
1. Badaboom (ua-cam.com/video/Aeaz4s7q0Ag/v-deo.html) .. one of their most famous songs and a really nice video too. The guy you see first in the Video is actually a famous TV comedian from Germany who is also a big fan of them, so they included him to play the role of the evil super villain in the video ^^
2. If I die in Battle (ua-cam.com/video/-f8V1QSf7yg/v-deo.html) .. also a great song, especially since it contans some of their finer guitar solo imitations which will probably blow your mind :D
3. Hells Bells (ua-cam.com/video/BuahSIrKxw8/v-deo.html) .. a cover of the famous ACDC song from their most recent Album .. and a nice illustration of how you can rearrange real Metal songs into A'Capella :)
No worries .. all the songs are english, so you won't have to worry about understaning the lyrics ;)
I really hope you find this comment helpful and that you and your family are safe and healthy and stay that way for the foreseeable future :)
Please keep up you spirits and your great work!
Metal a capella!? So was geht? Faszinierend, werter Landsmann.
Edit: Das geht nicht nur, das geht mächtig ab! Danke für den Denkanstoß, ich werde es Alex weiterempfehlen ;)
I know I'm hella frickin late (doing a marathon, watching your reactions ha) and I just had to click on this video. The entire album (Vol.3) legit saved me from...let's say doing something bad to myself. I was in a very dark place back then, suffer from BPD and this was released just in time. Corey screamed it out for me, all the anger and the pain. They saved me and I love seeing others being hyped about those songs and the band in general. Love all your reactions, keep up the good work!
"Crazy spikes comin' out of dudes' heads". Lmao, true though.
I love this song. I have Bipolar II and every aspect of this song speaks to me. Sound, Lyrics, & Energy represents perfectly what my brain goes through and how it feels.
holy shit
Koricon Nala dang that must suck
I feel you bro. Bipolar Type II from a very young age with a lot of other mental disorders running in the family. It’s nice to find music that appeals to the atypical nature of the human mind.
I feel like we're all just proud parents coming back to this video, since he's most definitely a metal head now. Its our lil baby Alex😭
I think its kinda funny that every video before this is about hiphop, and all those have like 3k views. the metal community really came in for this guy, he made a entire career out of this! great to see :)
Listen to fit for a king or parkway drive
You want a really good song...when I first heard it on release I couldn't stop repeating it...Tech N9ne ft Corey Taylor (slipknot frontman) Wither....
..hell of a song...I'm 30 loved slipknot since I was 11 wait and bleed first slipknot song iv ever heard..n im a rapper hip hop head all my life lol
savior2356 sounds you like have incredible taste in music!!
Alex Hefner I love ALL types..music is my life makes my world turn
Agreed Slipknot fan since before mainstream but also a huge Strange Music fan. But them crossing that genre was awesome. And picking a genius like Tech to do it with was great.
I was wondering how long you've been reacting to the metal videos! I just barely started watching your vids about a month ago and I'm hooked!!
Duality takes me back, it was the first metal song I ever heard, and it was the song that started me on the path of a metalhead.
Before my enlightenment, I only listened to rap and popular music, so the transition to metal was a journey I will never forget.
Now I listen to everything, from classic orchestral to metal, (except most modern music, like mumble rap and modern pop).
Metal is actually verry deep. Most of these songs have deeper meanings. Like you said, Duality is about ther... Well... Dualities in life that we all face. Its a genre that makes you think about the deeper meanings...
My kind of music
I stumbled across this today, I've only been on your channel for about 18 months so this was crazy to watch!!!
To think that this was the fist video I seen by you, and your first metal reactions video, I'm happy I subscribed to see you grow into a metal head and just grow your music taste as a whole. Love you Alex, totally Homiesexual, keep rocking on my man and glad to see you go a year strong in the metal community.
I’ve been a huge Slipknot fan since the beginning. I have no idea why Duality is so popular....not my favorite. My favorites in no particular order
Eyeless
Spit it Out
Heretic Anthem
AOV
Custer
The Blister Exists
Sic
The reason why it's so popular is that it is more palatable for mainstream listeners. The song has more of a melody and the screaming is spaced out enough to not alienate people that aren't into the heavier sides of metal. While I do agree with you that there are many other songs by Slipknot that deserve more attention, it's pretty easy to see why Duality would appeal to the average listener more than something like Eyeless or Sic.
Marcus Weaver aye fan of mfkr?
Aov is easily one of the best. The riff is FIRE.
Eyeless is one of my absolute favorites 👌🏻
The One That Kills The Least
i am mattys mum i,m 62 & i love all this kind of music, ive also been to many metal concerts...never too old to rock
This is beautiful. You have found it, the excitement; the energy and all that sums up the genre within 2:51. Good music transcends genre. Keep putting out positivity! Ignorance exists only when knowledge is short supply.
I've been binging your Slipknot videos this week. Newest maggot here. Love watching your metal evolution! 😝
This my favorite version of Corey Taylor's mask
Devil in I slipknot you need to explore more Corey Taylor is a god even look at stone sour (his other band)
Im Rukzyn I can definitely make that happen 👏🏼👏🏼
And Im Rukzyn "The Devil in I" ? I just can't wait to see you doing a video about it. *smirk*
Don't know when this passed a million views but congratulations! Watching you enjoy a lot of the music for the first time that I grew up listening to has helped me get through this rubbish year with a slight bit of my sanity left! You deserve it man.
There was a song I remember hearing where it starts off really calm with someone walking in an old house and uncovering a piano or drums or something and I can't for the life of me remember the name of the song but I think I remember seeing you react to it so I guess i'll just watch all 291 vids in this playlist and hope I find it again.
Should do a reaction for Arch Enemy "Nemesis"
Whos here in 2022? Legendary video
800k views now Alex!! Love ur musical oppinions, esp ur reaction to evanescence 😁 liked and subbed keep doin u!!!!
Glad to see that you have started with one of the best slipknot songs for beginners
