Great job at driving from AMS to RDM!! First driving from one big busy city to the other is really stressful. But it’s weird the nav drove you through Alphen instead of him guiding you via a highway via Den Haag or Utrecht.

Thanks for your comment!! Actually I think it’s because my friend’s house is not exactly in the Center and where I came from was probably the easiest route. I didn’t mind though, it was a beautiful road trip!

Great job!! You must be proud of yourself because it is an accomplishment. I learned to drive stick-shift (in The Netherlands) and when I moved to the US, I started driving automatic. If I. have a choice, I will go automatic. It is just easier. There are so many things going on on the road, that it is just one less thing to have to deal with. Here in the US driving automatic is the norm and it is not as easy to find a stick-shift. It used to be more fuel economic to drive stick-shift, but nowadays the difference is negligible. At any rate, safety is more important to me. Again, kudos to you for getting your Dutch driver's license and your successful roadtrip. 👍

Thank you for your comment, I appreciate it! And you’re right, I’m so accustomed to an automatic that driving in stick shift still stresses me out 😂 I think it was just a life goal to learn stick shift for me, it’s really a proper & traditional way to drive a car! But if given a choice I will do automatic as well. At least I got my license! 😜

Hey, I'm in a similar situation. I'm a few lessons away from my final. Curious about the car you drove in this video: it's one of those cars you unlock with a QR code, and just go, right? Are there no limitations on them for new drivers? Because for the "proper" rent-a-car companies, you need 1-2 years of driving experience. What about these?
