  • To commemorate the recent Shogun remake (Shogun collab with Hiroyuki Sanada's portrait available for Ieyasu when, Koei?). You were saying something about Ishido having no banner at Sekigahara earlier, Toranaga!?
Unlike last time, I decided to go through the battle again under purely Historical conditions (did not force Terumoto to the battlefield, Hidetada stayed to fight the Sanada at Ueda Castle, no Tohoku Alliance, etc.)... except for a teensy tiny part where Mitsunari chose to reflect on his actions and apologized (which doesn't matter otherwise unless he loses Sekigahara) because dude, stop being an asshole.
00:22 --- Intro Cutscene, Battle Start and Objectives Described
04:53 --- How prescient of Mitsunari to set up camp right next to a Falling Rocks key point. Oh I don't know, might as well use it... he should take that key point and get it set up, and get Hiratsuka to move towards it ASAP for when Mitsunari moves out later. Also again, don't try to contest the Inspire key point. Instead, take the nearby Key Point, and move Hideie further back towards the 'base camp' as his troops will be sorely needed there.
07:06 --- Naomasa and Masanori still hit as hard as ever, so move Yukinaga and Hideie away from them and towards the base camp as fast as possible, though still being mindful to cover the other units' retreat so they aren't caught in pincers. Make very good use of Yukinaga's ability to immensely slow pursuing units down to keep your units mobile.
Nagamasa will STILL make a beeline straight for Mitsunari like a noob, making it easy for him and Sakon to pincer him.
12:12 --- Move everyone back to try to catch as many enemies in the Falling Rocks as possible, making sure to keep units with low troops out of the way of the enemy heavy hitters.
13:00 --- Nagamasa's unit is defeated, giving everyone some Stamina back.
14:27 --- Again the Mori and Kikkawa have lunch while everyone is fighting.
14:44 --- Second volley of rocks, catching almost everyone this time. Yukinaga is moved back to actually take a rest.
15:43 --- Third rock volley. Two units also having a rest managed to dodge it this time. Hideie is actually a very effective blocker when he isn't eating pressure left, right and center.
    16:16 --- Tadaoki is defeated.
17:00 --- Fourth and last rock volley, catching EVERYONE this time and more or less finishing off both Naomasa and Masanori together (though Naomasa does decide to be a troll and get one last Red Demon of Ii ability use in before dying). This also completes four objectives, and finally incites Hideaki to turn against Ieyasu instead, giving you command of the remaining units as well.
18:01 --- Start having Hideaki and Yoshitsugu move in and take the remaining key points on the field, while Hiroie, Hidemoto and Morichika move down the mountain and secure the enemy Disengagement Point. Then clear out the remaining enemy units and get ready to tackle Ieyasu's massive unit.
25:00 --- The final battle begins. Make sure to have a unit handy to wreck that Disengagement.
26:26 --- That's a nice Disengagement Point you have there, Ieyasu, it'd be an awful shame if something were to happen to it and cause all your remaining units to become Confused...
26:47 --- Tadakatsu fires off his ability just before he dies. Everyone now focuses fire on Ieyasu.
    27:38 --- Victory!
28:10 --- Fictional Western Army Victory cutscene. Unlike the Eastern Army Downfall cutscene which triggers when Sekigahara is won with both fictional conditions turned on (forcing Terumoto to leave Osaka and having Hidetada ignore Masayuki and head straight to Sekigahara, allowing Terumoto, Hidetada and Masayuki to all take the field), Ieyasu survives, and the Toyotomi will still have to fight him yet. If the Tohoku Alliance is triggered though, that takes precedence over this event.
28:49 --- Summary of clan changes and new Diplomacy listing for the Toyotomi and Tokugawa. Thanks for watching!
