Well they’re right about how Twitter makes a lot of people sad. Happiness, the song suggests, has to be a state of mind. May I suggest reacting to & breaking down Bang! Since it’s on that soon to be released album too?!
There's so many lyrics that are so specific but relatable. The main chorus is genius. I totally feel the "I'm not happy yet, but it's been way worse" and whenever I feel sort of aimless I totally feel the "I'm not dead yet so I guess I'll be alright". Crazy lyricists
I loved your reaction to the end, with the instruments morphing from one to another! They said it’s a big theme on this upcoming album (that element is what they consider the “ok orchestra”) so it’s cool to see!!!
One thing I really love about UA-cam is hearing informed passionate experts weigh in on matters of their field. I have some limited awareness of music, music theory, and so on, but it gives me more ability to appreciate hearing a song dissected a bit.
@@johark ok overture is a mixture of all the songs from the album. So technically it’s from this song first :) They create an overture for pretty much every album they make
5:10 idk why, but the pace and note changes was absolutely incredible to me. The first time I heard this song, that moment for some reason was so incredible to me that it stuck with me and I listened to that moment over and over again.
My favorite part about this is the poppy upbeat feeling, cause it's not hating that he's not happy yet, it's celebrating being less sad, it's a message I needed personally
Dude, fell in love with this album last week. I hardly ever fall in love with full albums too. Almost obsessed lol, went to find out more about them, found an interview about OK orchestra with them on youtube. Should check it out if you get a chance. But you though! I've watched a few reactions to this album because I heard it alone :-(. Yours is the best. Love how you point out and educate us on what we are listening to. I'll have to check your music out after I've seen your reactions to the whole album.
I thought you where gonna burst out laughing I just watched it a few mins before you did near the end of the video they showed The lead singer doing something really funny XD
I really like the fast tempo being the instrument player that you know mostly specializes in brass instruments it’s really dick cool to hear that song because if you find like I will say like a baritone solo that is based on this song it’s going to be a more fun to play compared to a baritone by itself if it’s a really slow song unless if you’re really into slow songs
u need to listen to beats, don't throw out my legos, dear winter, dear winter 2.0, birthday party, netflix trip, turning out, turning out part 2, three thirty, neotheatre album

I’m conflicted on this band. I’m not a pop guy but I can’t deny the melody in this song in infectious and the production techniques are inventive. Buuuut they commit the cardinal sin of appearing live and pretending they’re playing along to a backing track. I know that doesn’t change the studio music, but it just kills me that they want to pretend to be authentic like that.
I really like how unique this song was. That’s one of the reasons why AJR is so fun to listen to.
Agreed
Yeah Bc not one song will ever sound the same but every ajr song will always have that ajr feel
Yes, I totally agree!
I listen to it during school
@@lukejukes AJR is just all over the place and I love it
The last 10 seconds of the song is a sound that AJR basically invented where they seamlessly blend different instruments together to the same tune
Yea same to bummerland, apparently we are gonna have it a lot in the new album XD

Seriously!
I don't know if that was just a typo but the lyrics are:
No, I ain't happy yet
But I'm way less sad
The moment you mentioned Jon Bellion's name, I LITERALLY SCREAMED
LOL!

You should react to the full album Neotheater by AJR. You can’t shuffle, you gotta play it all the way through..

Thank you.

That's explains the Bummer Land render they used to tease the song. All the instruments merging together is exactly how these songs sounds.
If you liked the instrument morphing at the end of this song, then you should listen to Bummerland by AJR
I love their songs Netflix Trip and Turning Out
