There is only 1 Dimash. No one will ever come close for you to compare to him, on his talent, skills and just being the kind and respectful human being. There are good singers, and some great singers, and a handful of singing legends, and then there’s Dimash, who defy genres and charted his own musical path, staying independent and true to himself and his musical craft. You usually listen to rap, well, he raps too, in his native Kazakh. 😊
This is a man of planetary scale. His work is closely connected with the deep strings of the soul of every person on this planet.

Thank you for returning to Dimash, Anthony. I understand why you don’t feature him all the time - not only because of the YT issues, but because his talent can be overwhelming. As a Dear for about 3 year myself, he has profoundly changed how I listen to music. I still have other artists I enjoy, but I have gotten much pickier with what I listen to and what message it sends. After listening to Dimash, I also find it difficult listening to anyone else. ❤

This is a performance of young Dimash. I heard until now songs by him with tones from A2 to D8. His voice has become even better. This performance was from a Chinese show and they are strict. If you listen without a break, they don't like it. But there are a lot of live streams being interrupted at the moment, with songs from different singers.
Yes, it's far from just Dimash's music that has this problem, in fact one reactor got an actual strike from a new artist I'd never even heard of before.

Another very enjoyable reaction. Adagio will always be one of my favorite Dimash performances. Dimash appears here in the fifth season of Hunan Television's “I Am A Singer.” “I Am A Singer” is an annual Chinese music competition between famous and established professional singers. The audience phones in to determine the winner after each episode. It is the same throughout the entire show; 500 with musical backgrounds judge the show by points each week.
At 22 years old, Dimash was the youngest participant in the show's history and competed against these professional and top-selling Chinese singers as a ‘wildcard’ competitor. The competition consists of 14 rounds, lasts almost 4 months, and competitors are eliminated throughout the season. Every performance is live, and no lip-syncing or auto-tune is permitted. Pure, unadulterated vocal ability only. Dimash’s mother later said that he hoped to reach at least the middle stage of the competition.
This was the sixth episode of the competition. Dimash had been considered the weakest contestant at the beginning of the show, given that he was completely unknown to the audience. He had been invited as a wildcard and was the first foreigner and youngest person to ever compete in the show. After his first performance (S.O.S.), he became a superstar in China overnight. His Chinese competitors called him their “little imported brother.” The other already well-known contestants were in absolute awe of him and joked that they might as well go home. Dimash won the first two episodes! He also won the 6th for this rendition of “Adagio”, a song made famous by Lara Fabian.
First place overall went to the famous Chinese Sandy. Sandy's first album came out before Dimash was even born. Dimash took second place overall; however, he lost by a narrow margin. He lost points for his performance of “Uptown Funk.” Although Dimash did not win the show, he immediately became a beloved star in China.
As part of the contest, contestants/performers are required to perform one original song they have composed. Dimash sang “Unforgettable Day”, a song he wrote when he was still in his teens - it's a love song. He sang in both the original Kazakh and Chinese, even though he did not speak Chinese at the time and had to have a translator with him throughout the competition.
Here is the order of Dimash’s performances for The Singer 2017. The contest lasts 14 weeks, but Dimash has only 13 performances because he had already made it into the semi-finals by week 11.

The last performance was part of the 2017 Biennial Concert and not part of the competition. It was broadcast live and is an original song written for Dimash.

The interpretation of the song by Dimash is brilliant. He touches my heart and soul ... every time.
The shaking of his head and the trembling of the chin has nothing to do with the vibrato. It just goes to show that Dimash can be a little nervous and tense too. It was about a lot. In the previous episode 5 (Uptown Funk) he knocked everyone out of their seats, but still only took a back seat. Either he won now or he would go home. Of course, Dimash won Episode 6.
The “Adagio in g minor” is one of the most popular works in classical music today. It is a composition for strings and organ published in 1958 by the Italian musicologist and composer Remo Giazotto (* 4. Sept. 1910; † 26. Aug. 1998 - Italian musicologist, music critic, and composer) and is said to be based on fragments by Tomaso Albinoni. Musicologists are still debating whether it was really composed by Albinoni.
Camilo Sesto wrote 1985 the original lyrics in Spanish to this piece. Lara Fabian wrote the lyrics in Italian and English. Composers Rick Allison, Dave Pickell and Lara Fabian arranged the piece into a pop song. Since then, this song has been part of Lara Fabian's repertoire.
* Lara Fabian, *1970, is a fantastic Belgian-Canadian pop singer and songwriter. She has sold over 20 million records worldwide and is one of the best-selling Belgian artists of all time. In 2017, she returned permanently to Montreal, Quebec, to be with her family.
At the age of eight she studied for 10 years at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels. She is classical trained, speaks 6 languages and sings in 13 languages. Her albums have been awarded gold and platinum in the whole world.
Lara is a great role model for Dimash. Even as a child Dimash wanted to be on stage with Igor Krutoy and Lara Fabian one day ... and for Dimash the dream came true of the 65th birthday of Igor Krutoy in 2019.

Thank you. Dimash sings in multiple genres and multiple languages and has a 7+ octave range. He sings with passion and totally immerses himself in each song. He is incredible. He IS music. The block is likely from the I am Singer show, not necessarily Dimash. Might have to steer clear of the show but don't deny yourself of the D (pause!) almost every song of his is worth it, as you truly know!
Most reactors put a screen of some sort over Dimash's performances to avoid being blocked. I think the Singer videos are particularly apt to be blocked.

Fyi, any tv shows from China are heavily copyrighted and will block if you do not put a transparency on it. Even then, some countries will still block it. Dimash has quite a few performances, live and on tv show specials, festivals, etc. so keep that in mind. Some are on his channel but the majority are on the official CCTV channels such as SMG, Hunan, Dragon tv, etc. on UA-cam.

Adagio is an italian word, that means "Slowly" or, like in this song, "patiently".
This is also used in music to define the pace of a music (a bit slow, between lento and andante) and also as a name of a piece of a sonata, concerto or symphony that is using that specific pace.
The music from this song of Lara Fabian is a pop translation of an italian classic piece called "Albinoni's Adagio". It was written in 1958 by Remo Giazotto who was an admirer of Albinoni, a musician from the 17th/18th century. He claimed it was from him and gave his music this name but there is consensus today that he most probably has composed it himself.
The classic music piece is globally famous and there were many different translations into different songs, with different music compositions, mostly operatic, and different lyrics (the band Renaissance, Daniele Licari, Sarah Brightman and Sissel Kyrkjebo for instance).
But the most famous version, by far, is Lara’s version:
it was translated into a pop song for her, she wrote lyrics in italian then co-wrote the english lyrics for it and is the original performer of these 2 versions.
She kept the title Adagio and wrote a story with a double meaning: a woman that is awaiting to find her love / an artist that is awaiting the god of inspiration.
This song has become a classic and has been covered by many : Shirley Bassey (!!), Dimash (Lara is his absolute idol and he covered several of her songs), Floor Jansen, Polina Gagarina, Dmitri Hvorostovsky, Julie Anne San Jose, Charice Penpengco, Giulia Falcone, Laura Bretan, Il Divo, Rimar, Vitas, Emily Linge, Anastasia Luna, Evgenia Fanfara, , …
They made great covers but none of these match the amazing storytelling performance of Lara, or her ability to use vocal subtleties to be in sync with the music, exposed in her live from the concert From Lara with Love.

It’s always a live orchestra on The Singer not a backing track. The Singer (Chinese State TV), is very strict you can’t just play the whole thing through, without stopping to comment… and even if you do that it could get blocked, unfortunately. I’ve also heard it said before, that if there’s a new season of The Singer taking place (I think it normally takes place every February/March time), you are more likely to get blocked, even on former seasons such as in this performance in 2017…
