    Weird thought; but I think Bucks should put his hand up to take over from Fagan at the end of his contract

    Harry Sheezel is already one of the best players in the competition in his second year on a bottom two team.

    Is Bucks right about the floor hitting the head also considered high contact? I can't see that in the rules at all.

    • @ashleyadsett2302
      @ashleyadsett2302 3 місяці тому +2

      I don't think so, so much commentary around this incident just isn't factual based on the actual written rules. There's nothing in the rules that say what Houston did was illegal.
      All of this, "if you bump and the player gets concussed then you're in trouble" isn't written anywhere.
      I'm a Port supporter so i'm obviously biased but I've said the same thing for previous incidents too, but if there's no contact to the head then it's a legal bump and there's nothing in the laws of the game that deems the action as illegal based on the outcome of the other player.
      That's the way Port should be arguing the charge, if he didn't get him high then he hasn't actually broken any of the rules of the game.

    The AFL community is so immature when it comes to player movements. And to say the clubs have no power is amazing given the cuts Bucks made in his final years at Collingwood

    • @JGFormentin
      @JGFormentin 3 місяці тому +1

      Exactly. Eagles can say no you're staying Barrass. Tigers can say no Bolton you're staying. Players are allowed to want out, they're human. But if they're signed then the club has the power.

    • @mareewalker1096
      @mareewalker1096 3 місяці тому +2

      Guys you have to have committed players that's how you win cups! If barrass wants out why would you want him??? There going to get a first rnd pick for a 28 year old say pick 10! They are in major rebuild why would you force a 28 year old when your not in cup contention??? If you were I can see trying to keep him but even then if he does not want to be there why would you keep him! Us hawk's lost buddy probably the best half forward ever ! We could of matched the bid but we did not and look what happens next year we smash swans with buddy! If we forced him to stay that would not of happened! Footy clubs are a relationship! Would you force a woman to stay with you if she wants out?? No! Clubs are not stupid they No if they force players it's bad for the culture and relationships!!! Hope that makes sense! It's not about clubs having power! Nobody wants to be overpowered in sport or life! If someone wants out do the deal get your best payment and move on! Harley Reid will want out in 2 years do you force him to stay or do you take 3 first rnd picks and move on to build a team THAT IS ALL IN????

      @@JGFormentin True, contracts are everything in our world, if they can be broken easily then our world will fall apart. The law will always try to make a contract work, the law always tries to repair a contract. Contracts are the true god of our economy.

    Clubs move players on whenever they like ! Collingwood great example! Bucks moved away from the lions 🦁 to the pies because he wanted to play in a successful team ! Fair enough! Lots of money in the game these days ! Lot of players go for cash 💰 instead of to a successful team ! That’s fair enough also !
    Money talks as we all know !

    Anyone saying Rankine didn’t get hit high and it’s all from hitting the ground smoking crack. You don’t just fall down and randomly crack your head hard into the turf, he copped the shoulder to the lower jaw (clearly visible on the slow mo replay). He hit his head on the ground because he was stunned from the contact and his reactions were slow, so the second impact finished him off

      his head hit Houston not the other way round. You think the head just sits like that naturally?!?!?!? No, and his head was hardly touched because of that fact.

  • @JF-oz3mv

    Peter Wright got a month for making contact with Cunningham and Cunningham had no interest in his own health and Wright turned to protect himself on the lead. Houston ran from 5 yards away and chose to bump when tackling was the clearly the correct option when the player was contesting the ball. And, some people still fail to understand the risk the game has with head injuries and litigation. I think the noise Houston had in the week about his future impacted his decision making as it is not a trait you usually see from him, so that must come into consideration. 6 down to 5.

    Super confused how people are trying to say Houston didn’t collect Rankine in the chin. He’s out cold before he hits the ground. While the bump was high chest you can clearly see Rankines head whip lash into his shoulder. Stop being so stupid and enjoy your 6 week holiday for lining a bloke up 20 meters away

      Notice Cornes again with the subtle digs at the Dogs 'If the Dogs can't win a Premiership with those two...' They perform it's 'Told ya so' if they don't 'They're so stacked. What is wrong with them?' He wins either way.

    Bucks,hey mate short memory you and Ned Guy ++ others got rid of A Treloar , Grundy, Phillips, Thanks to management decisions on long contracts and what gets me is Geelong has managed to get players into their club same as Swans Melbourne . Geelong players took pay cuts to obtain player's example Cameron + Swans player sorry cant recall his name and Geelong won a flag ,,If They wanted too could tell managers hey i want to stay ! Goes both ways lm not disputing managers are manipulative Afl instead of concentrating on rule changes mid season or father and son , Afl could restart fixing the issues of management manipulation Unfortunately they have to work to fix so Afl CEO A Dillion L Kane do nothing
