    H Matt we fish Giant Blue Fin here in the Straights of Gibraltar (season starts on 15th June 2018) , I want to prove to my 'old school' fishing buddies that this set up will land a 120-150KG Tuna (not any bigger) stand up using a Black Magic Equalizer , I hear them say not enough line capacity, not enough drag , you'll never stand up for long enough to land one etc...they all fish 130s and crane them in from fighting poles and want to prove them wrong what do you think buddy? great video btw

    Hi I have a question and I would like you to help me with it, I fish tuna from time to time I use a Lexa 400 reel with 80 pound braid, but I had problems in the first run of the multo fish running to the corner or even in the middle of the reel and crashing the reel and pop the line, i see you are using multi on this reel for big fish fishing how can i avoid this? I've had 4 occurrences of this type. I fishing Yellow Tuna in Brazil and Panama. With Spinning reel i never had this kind of problem.

    Hi Matt, I wonder how the braid or line don't just pull out from each other? Where is the connection? Is it the dental floss part, or the braid and line bite into each other? Thank you for the video.

    • @Chrisco_Hamper
      @Chrisco_Hamper 5 років тому +1

      Works like a Chinese finger trap, as the braid gains tension it squeezes the Mono and creates friction.

    Of all the places you used electrical tape the most important place that you didn't use it on was a wrap around the reel spool. You really need that tape under your braid it grabs into the spool and prevents all that braid from slipping!

    • @ballsofrock
      @ballsofrock 4 роки тому

      I use wax and tape too. Some people don't like it. I do.

    • @crustybear
      @crustybear 4 роки тому

      I was actually wondering too what the reason was why there was no anti slip layer (tape or a couple of grippy wraps of mono) laid under the braid. I fish in climates where the temperature changes a lot, and the reel could ever so slightly shrink a little, allowing your entire braid package to rotate freely on your reel, and you could get spooled by a small fish.
      Maybe the temps in NZ are constant enough so that this isn't a problem?
