The question I have, does the even need a V12? I know the basic idea, more cylinders means the engine is smoother when it delivers power. However, from an enthusiast’s standpoint, in the future, ICEs should be largely reserved for high performance cars and sports cars, as well as other vehicles that cannot transition to clean energy propulsion solutions very easily, like long distance lorries and buses. The S680 V12 Maybach emits more than 300g of CO2/km and you can easily get that same V12 smoothness from an electric powertrain. What’s more, an EV is near-on silent, which perfectly fits the requirements of a luxury car and zero emissions vehicles get financial incentives in an urban environment, which is where a car like this will most likely end up. So for me at least, it’s nice the V12 is around, but this is a “wasted application” of an exotic combustion engine. Luxury cars should be electric or hybrid as far as possible, just my two cents. I can’t wait for Rolls Royce and Maybach to release EVs.

I still think EVs and luxury cars are a perfect match, if charging infrastructure were good enough.
£201,000 for the Maybach S680 doesn't appear too "expensive" when the entry level Rolls Royce Phantom (in today's prices) is £351,486 and that's before options are added to an already bespoke vehicle. @@AutoTraderTV Ok, Great, , your review will help me make a final decision to buy one or not.👍
yes, this is indeed the pinnacle of automotive luxury, the best car you can be driven with
I love the way these cars age. Nothing ever goes wrong and are cheap to fix if they do. The white interior stays really white for decades as well.
WOW MERCEDES BENZ MY FAVOURITE FROM SUPER CARS TO SUVS TO SEDANS TO COUPES TO G WAGON MERCEDES BENZ IS ROCKING . MERCEDES BENZ - RESPECT .
The Maybach has always struck me as a "why car?"… at its price point, why get it when you can get a Rolls or a Bentley… If it still looks like a MB550, just longer, why get it (unless you’re 7’1)?… I’m sorry, I’m just an advocate that given it’s cost at $200k+, it shouldn’t look like something I can get for roughly $100k… 🤷🏽♂️
Rolls or Bentley don't have the same level game or quality as the Maybach.
@@Sbrumtwn I agree. If I'm not mistaken, this beats them in terms of pure tech and luxury. I think Rolls Royce amd Bentleys have more presence and RR's interior has a lot of (awesome) gimmicks. But I would go Maybach for sure.
Still can't get over the pain of not being able to buy the 62s and then this comes out.. About time I start working....
i've never been in a mayback so i cant say much abt it but i'd like to know why so many wealthy people like them alot in some cases even more than its competition despite it being pretty well known that rolls royce's suspension system is abit more comfortable and road isolating, maybe thats not all that matters in a luxury car?
it's a little more subtle maybe?
It’s cheaper.
I see. This car has the same feature of Japanese normal taxi finally!
Japanese taxi can open door from iside driver.
It looks like a really good looking Chinese luxury sedan
Because, it's meant for that market. They are the ones with that kind of money now. And the Arabs as well.
Rory emphasizing on Calf massage for the millionth time 😃
This was really good to watch
Note the driver said " hey Mercedes " showed that this is just a tarted up merc . Hope the reliability is better .
If I was in a position to own one of these, I'd want the driver replaced with a computer
Love how you stutter when deciding where to go LOL - "[...] that's where rich people go, isn't it?"
