"Religion is the weirdest thing ever" is such a funny statement since religion is the most common justification for morality for most humans today and throughout history.
True, the reason why everybody is living peacefully in their homes and not murdering everyone everyday is because of religions, they follow the scriptures of their religion and that's why we are all like this right now, also, religion is one of the driving forces that advanced humanity's knowledge of technology and medicine, the knight order that was focused on medicine alone advanced medieval medicine by a whole lot, because they were an order focused only on medicine, there's also the hospitallers that were both fighting and helping the economy and medicine, also without religion, our literary abilities wouldn't have gotten that far yet, because religions were pretty much the big factors for spreading literature, hinduism, confucianism, christianity etc have all made major contributions to the world's technological, literary, and medicinal advancement
We need more Tommy reactions to Epic History. Them and Kings and Generals have been absolutely killing it over the years. Some of the best history videos out there.

Hearing tommy wanting Heroes in Medieval 3 makes my blood boil, hate that feature so much. Maybe giving a general unit have some customizability like in Shogun 2's Multiplayer would be cool, but having the king of England be able to slaughter an entire mameluke horde would be the worst thing to happen to the series.
Keep the generals human and accurate especially in the historical total wars.

We'll get a medieval 3 when CA goes bankrupt and is scattered to the 4 winds. I love it when people think that internet influencers can get companies to do things that they already know the customers want and simply don't care because it doesn't conform to their business model. I wouldn't even want CA to make a third medieval game because the developers would be under pressure to make it a piece of garbage. Just play 1212AD if you want medieval b/c that's as close as you're going to get.

10:03 well, usually these things are written down in various accounts from contemporary historians of the time we like to call primary sources or future people recounting those which we call secondary sources. Most of these in historical archives, private collections and a lot of times just in some libraries. Though getting a hold of good books is an issue, since a lot of them tend to be expensive to purchase and a decent amount of good ones do have to be bought.
you can also search online, but less so. I know that there are sites that offer viewings of academic papers...

@@Isabell-gw8bv The reason so many died in China/Soviet Union is because of dictatorship, not atheism or lack of religion. Nazi Germany was christian, but still a dictatorship.
Religions, just like any extremist ideologies, tend to justify any means, even the most cruel and brutal ones. Until we had fascism and communism, it was basically the justification for most atrocities. In Europe wars that weren't based on religious reasons, tended to be less bloody, because you were less likely to deshumanize the other population. Sure, worldwide you have counter examples (essentially, the Mongols), and we can't do anything about human nature, but I don't think blaming the catalysts that make us do horrible shit is senseless: the less we have that kind of catalysts (extreme views on religions or society (as it was for communism)), the better.

I don't agree with your hero take, just make them generals with units like in old TW. But to make TW good again you would need a lot of work, current fucked engine that is build around heroes/monsters and paired animations and the tools CA works with isn't the answer.

Oh buddy, this guy skipped all the good stuff, man. Like in the battle of Dorylaeum. All the camp followers were being defended by the knights as well, and they were running around keeping the soldiers alive and fed and shit under intense arrow fire. Got to a point where they all just started singing hymns. Then, when the cavalry came, the commander straight up shouted "God willing, we're gunna be rich!" as his battle cry. Who these people WERE is just so much of the craziness of this campaign. The interplay between the commanders and the badmouthing, backstabby Tarantino shit that happened all around, man. Best crusade. Best characters.
See, that would put the crusades in a positive light, and we cant have that.
