@@Rrob06 I'd say he sounded like this until the second album and then changed it intentionally on Humbug. It's just that he "learned how to sing" more than anything. This is so raw, it's amazing... And the topping is the just barely out of tune guitars, makes you feel they've just gotten in a garage together and started playing, so raw...
Every now and then, i return to this song and it gives me hope and happiness. Faith in my future and to keep going. Idk, it just gives me that feeling. Phenomenal, arctic monkeys never stop doing what you do, please.

Beneath the boardwalk was a massive gift for sheffield kids around 04 when it was doing the rounds. We knew we were finally gonna have a voice and be up there with Manchester and Liverpool. That was before they were even signed.
@alxturner9 stood near the front, got doused in beer all night but was one of the best experiences of my LIFE!!!!!!!!!! I wish i went to see em in the proper early days down at the boardwalk or summat :(
Yeah as said before, the bands get so sick of the songs. And you won't understand until you write a song. I get sick of songs I'm writing when they're not even finished cause you play them over so many times it just gets terrible. Hell, they're probably already sick of Suck It And See.
oh god, you're so right. I mean, there are bands that are okay with that, to play the same tune for 10, 20, 30 years every time live. But although I haven't written a whole lot of songs, I got sick of every one of them at some point lol

Right, the radio version doesn't come close to this one
This is the way.
Fkn awesome! Raw as fk. And load as fk thru beats! Musical experience
Feels swept in from the old streets of Sheffield
The drumset sounds so bad and I love it. Reminds me of the one I have in skl
the fact that he wrote recorded most of these at 15-16 is so insane
Alex's squeaky voice here that keeps cracking shows how far he has come as a singer
It makes it better because he isn’t who he is today
Mainly cause he was a teen and his voice was still deepening

There's only music, so that there's new ringtones
And it don't take no Sherlock Holmes
To see it's a little different around here

And kids who like to scrap with pool cues in their hands
And just 'cause he's had a couple of cans
He thinks it's alright to act like a dickhead
