As Chidinma said in one of her interview, everything happened because of her name she was not accepted, after working so hard they thought that she is not South African enough to represent them. She also said that they were so many people literally dedicated their lives to bring her down.
Because of your comment here bro, you are not among those pathetic people who tried to bring her down I bet you.

  • @Kangema

I hope all Africans have had a lesson to learn from this young lady's paradoxical experience. Please do not be misled to think that this young lady was rejected by South Africans simply because of any alleged crime committed by anybody. South Africans (including senior politicians with authority) rejected her once they realised that she was using a foreign name and her father was from Nigeria ("a foreigner"). This was far before the Department of Home Affairs claimed to have been then requested to investigate, as a result of which they came up with an allegation of "identity theft" against her mother. In South Africa, it does not matter how legal or legitimate your citizenship is; you are always rejected and openly treated as a foreigner for as long as you are an African, you are known to have come from or to be linked to an African country other than South Africa and, most especially if you carry a "non-South African" name. Naturalised citizenship, and even citizenship by birth linked to any African parent from outside South Africa, is only "on paper" when it comes to the so-called foreigners from Africa. The real problem in South Africa is Afrophobia.

If her mother end up losing south African citizenship, chichi too will lose her south African citizenship because she can't benefit from crime, she should be proud Nigerian and Mozambiquean, is part of her and forget about south Africa, her dad also fail her by not making her strong to her Nigerian root,if she was proudly Nigerian she was not going to enter Miss SA especially knowing very well that migration in south Africa is big topics especially poor African from continent failed by their government at home, some end up involved in criminal activities, it become too much for ordinary poor south African to deal with south African criminal plus criminal from the rest of continent and with high unemployment in SA, to compete for few job with the rest of Africa in SA is also unfair for poor south African, I struggle to understand someone from Nigeria working as Uber driver or delivery guy in south Africa, poor south African should be given chance to do that without too much competition like is rich country in Europe or America

Painting people with the same brush is what really affected the behaviour of some South African's when they were commenting about this beautiful girl. Yes, it's true that there's a lot of Nigerians in SA jails, there's been a lot of cases of drugs, fraud and human trafficking committed by Nigerians to date so generally they have bad PR in SA. Stereotypes are not good at all. Surely there' others which are not breaking the law. I pray that God may restore the life of the lady who's identity was stolen. May she be able to further her studies and fulfill all her dreams that she couldn't before because of having no identity. Africa unite!

    • @kayodeakinsanya3969

You Official Government Statistics tell a different story. Yes there are Nigerians in your jail. 1) Nigerians are not the top ten immigrants to South Africa. 2) Nigerian is not in the top ten migrant nationalities in your jail. So what is this obsession with Nigerians. Deal with criminals generally and stop the self hate.

We know most black South Africans drop out of school early so we cannot blame you. She is South African until your government cancels her citizenship which has not happened yet. She is proudly Nigerian too! The concept of dual citizenship is unfathomable for you. I understand.

It's good that she went back home where she belongs instead of living as a fake south african. Her mother did her wrong and her ancestors fought for her. Good luck in all ur endeavors girl. People must listen to this girl, she knows who she is, she says I've known since I was born that I'm Nigerian, so let's give her peace and allow her to live her life.

What the hell is this woman blabbing? Is it not obvious that this girl got into this situation because she over celebrated Nigeria?

So she is Nigerian afterall. Which means South Africans were right. They didn't a Nigerian (non-South African) representing them. Now after all this, she accepts finally that she is Nigerian. Great.
