Would you do a video on all the major Primes outside of hotrod, Optimus, and Primal. Characters like the 13 primes and a bunch of other side Primes? they all probably have like 1 figure each at least so it would make more sense to make a video of the group as a whole
I have a reissue of the original ultra class Primal that's so much fun to pick up and play with and pose with different weapons on display, and a knockoff of the ironfactory one (a KO of a KO), that one's much more of a squish-former than I'd like (it pretty much stays in robot mode and you hope you don't have to squish the parts back into place, I don't really recommend it) that said the scale of it is so much better than the old Optimal Optimus I used to have as a kid was, it's actually reasonable to keep it out on a shelf

Getting the kingdom figure really made me happy for memories of finding this old 90s show online and binging it all, I really hope we get to see more Beast Wars figures later, maybe characters who never got a recent update
I think you're doing Prime Optimus a smal disservice. Even though he is slightly more stoic, his moments of humanity and warmth are all the more powerful. Think about moments like when he holds Arcee's hand as they are both freezing in the artic, not knowing if they will ever be home, or when he has little awkward social moments like being lost for words and tapping his fingers silently. Its more subtle but I think the writers took great care in giving him warmth and humanity where it counted especially considering he was based on bayverse prime who is literally a demigod with a Cain and Abel type relationship with Megatron. Anyway loved the video as always, can't wait for the next!
That’s all very fair, and the scene with Arcee was exactly what I like to see out of Optimus. I may be stuck in my ways, but I just don’t think those things should be subtle. I guess the best way to put it is that I want Optimus to be an awesome dad with his heart on his sleeve, not the somewhat distant dad that flashes a thumbs up at the end of the movie to show hr always loved his kid. Does that make any sense?
While I think Gary Chalk is the best voice for Primal, Ron Pearlman is still a really good second choice for the leader of the Maximals. Yes, I will admit that Rise of the Beasts as a film is a bit of a mess, but Pearlman as Primal was one of the many few hidden gems that made ROTB decent.
Totally agree. Chalk isn’t just my Primal, but he’s my Prime. Even still, Pearlman did a good job! It helps that this was a very different Primal, I almost feel like Chalk would have been wasted on this role because of just how angry and low key ROTB Primal is.

When beast wars release in Japan it was treated more at a gagged dub/in abridged dub/a parody and my only reason in just speculation is most likely is true was because after G2 did so awful in Japan, it didn’t even worse in America. It only barely lasted one year in Japan despite it had a more interesting story and was treated as an actual continuation of the Japanese G1 cartoons, continuity, and takes place right after operation combination the final original Japanese G1 toyine in Japan and after it failed takara was way more focused on the brave series, which was animated by sunrise, which is really funny to me because sunrise aka gundam and code geass people actually fun to at least was because entire of brave series was bought out by their competitor Bandai or nowadays Bandai Namco it wasn’t until the seventh brave show came out Japan that they saw beast wars a success in America since G2 was a bomb in Japan and most of you know Japanese people/fan based transformers are for babies🤦 and not the hard-core you know, anime crowd, a.k.a. Yes! The other one that could react to sounds was the Stomp one, but the figure with the main gimmick of responding to sound was the shelf warmer. There were a lot of gimmick Primals that year.

My favorite primal is the kingdom one, it is my favorite beast wars primal figure and I have the ss rotb primal which I love also Edit: if ron Pearlman is THE voice for live action optimus primal, then I think that Patrick Stewart should be beast wars megatron. For official I love SS Primal and Takara one both really good ones third party wise Trans Art kills it especially the last form, plus who doesn’t love a good Monke transformer
You didn't even mention the best versions of Optimus Primal. You mentioned movie trash but conveniently left out the 3rd Party TransMetals Optimus Primal & Optimal Optimus from TransArt. Not to mention the legends scale Optimus Primal from Robot Toys. These are probably 3 of the most beautiful versions of them. The TransMetal looks like it jumped right off the screen. Articulation, transformation, face sculpts of both modes, everything is very well done. The TransMetal 2 Optimal Optimus still has the awkward proportions just as they were on the cartoon. All 4 modes are equally represented. But the robot mode is the hardest to pose because of the finicky hip, knee & ankle joints... they've got to be posed in a way where they actually work against each other to work WITH each other (if that makes any sense without providing a photo reference). This brings us to the best looking although heavily stylized version of Season 1 Optimus Primal... the Robot Toys RT-01 legends scale. It's smaller than the Kingdom version, but it's got a lot of diecast making it easier to stand in any pose. Plus for $5-10 more it's an overall BETTER figure, hands down PERIOD. It comes with 2 swords, the skull head mace, pop up blasters on his arms, the flip around shoulder cannons and the Prime Jets on his backpack. It has more incredible detail in a smaller scale than anything Hasbro had ever produced AND is at a better price point considering design, engineering, paint apps, materials, size & weight. These are the only 3 that you should've included if you're doing a retrospective of the many toys of Primal. Mainly because of mentioning the Season 1 MP version. I'm sure if you were to look these 3 up & watch a couple video reviews of them you'd see how significant these would be to add to the video. To see these, I recommend Deluxe Baldwin because of his enthusiasm for these pieces.

I know a lot of people can’t stand Beast Machines. I don’t know, I still have a lot of nostalgia for it. That said, nostalgia or not, the designs aren’t great.
It’s a weaker material. Being translucent means it has less density and is a less pliable plastic. Stress of any kind will shatter it over time. It’s like glass vs concrete; both will break, but it’ll take longer to get though one than the other.
