Not sure if you've listened to the bonus tracks on the Deluxe edition of PAINLESS but they're really wonderful. I guess there's something about her music that lends itself so well to being played without loads of production
Ummm.... Wow! Would have loved to have been a fly on the wall at this performance. Was about to go to bed, yet have found myself covered in goosebumps from pressing play on this loved singer and from the equally as wonderful artists who create beautiful sound landscapes for Nilüfer. 🥰
tripping out on the saxophonist blowin up a storm from 3:11 to way past when you'd expect her stop, major props! Such a great set from a truly singular artist, her voice has plumbed emotional depths in me I didn't know existed
I am so proud and happy to see you there in the basement . You are one of best late alternative act in recent years . Türkiye 🇹🇷 den selamlar seni seviyoruz !
Greetings from Sydney, Australia. I first heard Nilufer whilst visiting 'Red Eye Records' in the city and the album PAINLESS was playing in-store. I liked it immediately and bought it right away and it's been on constant rotation since. Great singer/songwriter/guitarist with her own style, voice and music.
Seen her twice on this tour and Midnight Sun sounds freakin incredible here. The whole band has mastered these songs live. Such a treat with the bonus of Godrich production here. My AOTY.
This is fantastic! What a find!! Wow just blown away. I must say that the live performance is notable better than the record. I think in the record the process her voice too much. Also all the instruments just sound rawer and it’s so much better. I hope they use that feel in more of the mixing in the future!
I think i've been listening mostly to instrumental albums, ambient, jazz, this year, but this album is one of my favourite singer-songwriter, guitar-based ~
I can't believe it, i follow from the basement since their first dvd and now they have Nilüfer and squid who are one of my favourite artists of the last years
As always: in love with Nilüfer and all the band, they give me creeps. The riff of midnight sun is amazingly oniric. Just can say thank you to make this music.
This is the first time you have had contact with this band. I loved the performance, I enjoyed the vibe of the song. I'll definitely be listening to more now.
On my knees guys - holy cow ,,,,,, !!! 👌👌👏👍💘😶🎼 ps: so taken by, can't descripe - it's overwhelming brilliance , I'm xplodin with .... !!!What a package ! Holy moly again, but it's 🔨👈☝️🤘🤙
First time hearing her / them. They remind me some of Warpaint, which is not a bad thing. Seems like a lot of potential to get even better, and they are already very good.
well i've been a huge fan since "Crash" and i just found that these songs work so well ONLY with all players in perfect sync [and i mean: not just double vocals, live instruments, but Jazzi Bobbi's live effects manipulation, example loops with Ellis - I mean all of them]. So I was wondering if they had live sets with mistakes? I've seen a lot, but none with any false part.. it makes everything strange but beautiful
Anyone know if all the basement sessions are tracked on that API it shows in the beginning? I thought that studio had an SSL for some reason. I always love the sound of the Basement videos. Nigel Godrich is the fuckin man
i’m beyond proud for nilufer! very well deserved and i hope to see her in bigger places some day. turkey loves you and we’ll always support you and your art. 🇹🇷❤️
All are great, but this live performance, in particular, is up there How the West Was Won, Siouxsie's Nocturne, Life Without Buildings' Live at the Annadale Hotel. "Best in the history of rock'n'roll" stuff.
The problem with from the basement sessions that they sound so amazing I can’t enjoy the album version anymore
Absolutely true
Live is always best. Try KEXP
Because of horrible loudness wars mastering these days forced by record labels
Mathematically accurate
Nilüfer Yanya - Guitar / Vocals
Jazzi Bobbi Driessen - Synth / Alto Saxophone / Backing Vocals
Elizabeth O’Lenahan - Bass
Ellis Dupuy - Drums
Ellis is the man, his work on Puma Blue is unparalleled
gotta love them all, as a band
this is the best music i've heard in a while. midnight sun is a true gem.
I feel the same.
Who else thinks this is the best one of the new ones so far?
Partial to Warpaint. But this is pretty damn good.
IDLES was impeccable, absolutely number 1 for me
That bass at 4:42 f***!!! That hooks so hard! Killer performance, great to see talented musicians coming through. Stop for no one
Had the same feeling 🔥
I would say they did better than an F. I give
them an A++
@@DonJuanMatheus Me too!
I didn't expect all the songs to be better live

@@homosexualpanic Agree and I've downloaded all live performances that I was able to found here in YT, KEXP are also one of the best too
This is a real band. So refreshing. Excellent production here as well. Band on fire + audio engineers on fire = MAGIC.
Nigel Godrich and co. can make silence sound engaging. Bad production is impossible.
Nigel should produce her next album.
I'm obsessed with the bass player and her movements
Ummm.... Wow! Would have loved to have been a fly on the wall at this performance. Was about to go to bed, yet have found myself covered in goosebumps from pressing play on this loved singer and from the equally as wonderful artists who create beautiful sound landscapes for Nilüfer. 🥰
The second chord in the first song's chorus took me by surprise and is so fuckin groovy.
I thought they were going to play Weird Fishes😀

What a performance for Trouble
?
I can't stop listening to midnight sun, so profound. The sound is perfect, you are real pros.
The dealer sounds beautiful here, I'm loving how it's giving slight 'Godspeed You Back Emperor!' vibes with that distortion at the beginning of it.

There is something in her voice that instantly catches the listener. Very beautiful tone.
Insanely talented young woman 👏🏼
This performance is astonishing ! She masters her craft, love it.
And also, music is a candy for the ears !
Cheers from the french Alps !

I’m loving this session. Each time I listen I love it more. Thank you Nilufer.
Same, but I'll donate you an upper Ü and lower ü.

Nigel Godrich is THE man!
This is insanely good . Props to all involved
Seriously better than the studio versions. That heavily chorused guitar tone is so haunting and beautiful
Wow. Just wow. Super powerful and talented musicians.
Thank you Nilüfer for this beautiful experience.
My best music discovery in 2022 🙌🏻
midnight sun and trouble are beautiful peaces, such a complete immersive sound
I absolutely adore this woman! 😊
Painless is my choice for best record of 2022
RadioHead dinlediğim sırada gördüm seni... Baştan sona Muazzam!
bende radiohead dinlerken rastgeldim :D Nilüfer Yanya'nın müziği o kadar güzelki resmen ruhuma dokunuyor gibi
Damn, she is amazing
omg hi premiering now!!!!!!!!!!!! midnight sun is somehow even better here?!!??? how
yes, been loving it on previous live sessions, for kexp, fender ~
Yanya Forever ...
Amazing sound! Props to the sax player
So talented, heart-felt and beautiful. Nilufer and the whole band are so incredible. Just…wow. Thank you ❤
Jesus something fresh
With the right attitude and sound
Just wish they continue to enjoy making music like they do right now
I saw this band in Glasgow last year. They played before Roxy Music. Great band.
Could UA-cam allow one to press the like button as many times as performances like this deserve ? This music and this sound are just perfection...

Just discovered this, is one of my fav new music in so long. awesome stuff, and great live performers too
Great and thanks for sharing. I feels some nostalgic classic police guitar with ethereal dreamy lyrics. Quite heartening and enjoyable thanks.
what a joy your music is, thank you basement crew and nils band. so soothing
Great music, great sound, great band... Thanks a lot.
Lindo demais! Much love from Brazil!
that chorus on the strat and chord progressions reminds me a bit of Nirvana :) awesome songs and performance!
All concerned... but whoever edited this, is a f*(king champ.
This is amazing. Thanks for the discovery!
*goes off to buy record*
Man, to be the couch in one of these performances...
saw them live in bologna: amazing!!!
this is an incredible set
Amo mucho esto 🔥
the guitar tone on the dealer 🤤
Ellis Dupuy! My fav drummer
Great production, great performance
Very cool. There is a lot of influence from one of Beck's most emotional albums (Sea of Change)

You don't get much better that that , fantastically tight band, top one, that was great many thanks for making my evening
Gotta see her live in person one day

Beautiful, Great Music.
This was excellent.
omg this is fantastic
Discovered these folks yesterday. Great timing!
Omg, midnight sun ... what a song
Wondeful music, i'm definatly a fan
I need a cut that shows just the drummer. Or even better all four on a split screen
So freaking beautiful!
one of the best about at the moment
trouble is my favorite...
Para mi, uno de los mejores LPs de este año pero ojalá las partes del saxo se hubieran incluído. Todo un descubrimiento Nilüfer.
saw them live in ankara❤🔥

The dealer lives rent-free in my head 😂
New From the basement. :)
New to play with in my living room.
very cool sound, such a rad combination of styles, I would be interested to know who are the biggest influences.
Amy Winehouse, PJ, some Strokes
Isso é bom pra caralho. PQP.
Come to Brazil
