How do you know neck size
Hi can you do a video for 5-6 year old I just got my stuff I’m new to this
Hello I'm 10 row in and I'm enjoying it so far but with this type of stitches I find the sweater to be a little stiff, I don't know if it's my fault or the stitchs are thick so it's less soft. Do you have any tips?

2 star stitches 1 inch/ 2.5cm approx. wide.
You can make how long the chain you like if need wider.
Make the chain odd number for example 14 inches long and then add 3 chains.
When you will start to make star stitches jumper becomes smaller. For example, if need 14 inches wide jumper then make 15 inches chain or more. Make 2 rows and measure. Is it wide enough for your size?
The same for the armhole you can make more rows for the armhole. It is up to size. This pattern is very very easy to change any size.

You can make a chain with how wide a jumper you need. Measure by some old jumper. Make a chain a little bit longer 1- 2 inches., because starting a star stitch will make the chain smaller. Multiples of 2, make a long chain +3 chains for first-star stitch and +3 chains to start the 1st row.
Start in the 2nd chain, make 2 loops in the chains and 3 in the next stitches. The same as a small jumper. Then crochet up until under the arm. Under arm.- Also your choice, crop jumper or long. Then skip 2 or 3 stitches instead 1 stitch again look at the old jumper how wide need for the armhole?

@@lilir5667 I do not know, how wide you need this jumper. Teens 15 years old can be skinny or bigger in size.
What is the average hip size for a 16-year-old female?
For 16-year-old girls, the average hip size is 37.6 inches or 95.6 cm.
For the front then you have to make half which means 19 inches approx chain. Should be an even number then plus 6 chains. It is minimum.

No, yet! I will think about this. Easy to make a smaller size. Just need in the beginning start with 4 less chains and for shoulders will be 1 star stitch less.

@@aleisiakendall6546 I started with chain 48. Chain 11.5" approx. can be more but no less. The same size will be for the back part. If the chain is not the same size for both the back and front, side seams will go wrong.
I calculated 6 full star stitch rows 1 colour, 2 full star stitch rows another colour and 2 another colour. 8 full star stitch rows in total.
Then skip 1 chain and start star stitches until the end of the row, 1 chain leave unworked. Possible that will be 1 loop less for the last star stitch. Then need crochet up until you will start creating the neck part. Neck we will create the early because we need fewer rows less for the armhole. I can not tell more yet, I have to try it first :)

Love the pattern and colours. But overall hard to understand. I can not sew sweaters at all no matter what how hard i try. I’ve made sweaters which dont require sewing. I wish you’d made another one like this without the sewing method.

Very hard to make full star stitch sweater in raglan. Try sew together by this video. Just do not pull yarn too tight.
