My sample just went dark yellow / brown with a tinge of green. Added 10ml of sample, watered down with distilled water. Made a solution of na0h adding 0.4 g to 100ml of distilled water and added 3 drops of 0.04 bromothymol blue. Followed instructions and somehow got brown after adding 50ml of na0h, which doesn't seem quite right!
A titre of 50 ml when using 0.1M NaOH is extremely high, so I suspect you have missed the endpoint. What was your sample? Sometimes if your sample has strong colouration, this can make the colour change difficult to see. If you continue to have issues, I would recommend investing in a cheap pH meter and titrating until it reads 7.0
Informative video, my boss was also suffering from this condition and he visited many hospitals but didn’t get complete relief. Then one day i came to know about planet ayurveda and I told him to visit there. He visited there and they gave him acidity care pack. Now she is fine. Thanks to planet ayurveda.
Wanna start measuring TA in my beers, meads and ciders. I got the bromothymol blue, but it's in powder form. How to make it as an indicator like you have?
Dissolve 0.04 g in 20ml of methylated spirits, then dilute to 100 ml with distilled water. I then add a little sodium hydroxide until it just turns blue. If you are doing this at home, you might be better of just buying some ready made
Essentially, it is a condensed version of a longer calculation, which assumes that you are using 0.1M NaOH and 10 ml of sample. If either of these things are different, x0.75 will not work. I'm going to create a video on this to explain the full calculation
@@amberclarke2394 It's quite a long explanation, which I might make another video on, but there is a longer calculation for this. However, as long as you use 0.1M NaOH and 10ml of sample, the calculation basically condenses down to 'titre (ml) x 0.75 = TA in g/L as tartaric acid'.
You try to give the video more brightness it will be great if you do
Well explained... helped a lot
Thanks 😊👍
This was well explained ty
Great explanation, thanks
is bromothymol blue the same as phenolphthalein indicator 1%????
What is 0.75? And how does it come? Please tell this point I don't understand it.
Br*0.07*10 = Results
İ dont know measuring ph at the end ????

Thanks but why some standard manules addcfor example 250ml for5gr sample ???
İ mean why say adding much disstlled water???
Sir, what's the 0.75 in the calculation?

Very helpful, clear and detailed video. Great work 👍❤️
hi, may i know how to prepare the bromothymol blue indicator? thank you!
Bromothymol blue can represented by methyl blue

Whats the 0.75 in the calculation?
I was trying to figure this out as well. Science etc, would you be able to explain?

If you need these instructions and you have all this fancy gear, you should be fired.
