What a pleasant change to see such a beautiful girl doing a knife review! And a well done review I might add. Picked up a spydiechef a few months ago, (the cqi version), along with the cqi kapara. Very pleased with both. Subbed, looking forward to more reviews!
Hello. You are getting off to a great start with these fabulous knives. I am slowly watching from the start of the knife channel so i may not comment on them all as there are so many to watch but i will surely hit the thumbs up on them all. Also Huge congrats to your Dad for getting you into the hobby. All the best.
No worries!! I really appreciate you watching my vids! And yeah, my dad has an extremely huge role in the reason why I collect and how I started collecting. I’m really glad we can share a hobby like this with each other! Thanks for watching 😊
Thanks for the video! It was very informative and I really get a good look at the knife. It’s hard in Long Island to get a feel for nice knives before buying them since we have no good stores other than online ones. I’m definitely picking this one up. Take care!
Yes. I know how you feel. There’s a lot of online knife stores that would accept returns if you aren’t happy with your purchase nowadays. I think you’ll like this one though. It’s very light and easy to carry. Thank you for watching.
Great video! Not enough people present the specs on knifes in such a clear way with good video work. You're doing great at that! Have you ever considered recording hd audio of the knives? At some level, I judge the quality of the knife by the sound of the action.
So been planning to go for like 2 weeks now and then I see your video and you talking bout We Be Knives. Crazy shit. And good video. Hope to see more new video from you soon.
Yeah I love We Be knives. I've been goin there since I was a little kid. But always bout the cheap knives in there. But I been planning to go there there soon cause I just started receiving unemployment money and I gotta go there and buy a new good knife from them. And good recommendations on what to get there?
Hello David, they have a bunch of knives there and lots of EDC friendly ones. From Benchmade to Spyderco to the more budget focused Civivi. You can also call them before coming in and they can put a knife on hold for you. All in all good experience and they have tons of knives in display for you to choose from. Thank you for watching.
Very nice review. I recently bought a Spydiechef and I noticed in the factory edge there was some slight dark discoloration despite it being razor sharp out of the box. Did you experience this yourself?
I had to angle my finger a little closer to the spine of the knife so I don’t hit the frame. It’s awkward at first but you’ll get used to it. Also, my fingers are slender so that helps a little. Thank you for watching.
You pronounced Martin Slysz's last name correctly but not his nationality. Martin is from Poland and that would make him Po-lish. You said he was Pol-ish, which is the act of rubbing something to make it shiny. Minor slip but it made me chuckle. I almost got a Spydiechef. The steel that comes on this knife is LC200N which is practically stain proof. It's a great steel to use in the kitchen because of how well it does with water. I'm glad you covered the CQI changes. The original Spydiechefs didn't have a ceramic detent ball, they had a stainless steel detent ball. So some of the early models would start to get rusty on the inside of the knife which affected the smoothness of the knife opening and closing. That was a major oversight and a very important fix. Have you used your spydiechef to cook anything in the kitchen? I mentioned earlier that I almost bought one, I got the Kapara instead. A majority of my knife use is in the kitchen. I just used my Kapara to make Carne Asada and pico de gallo the other day. The Kapara and Spydiechef are frequently compared by other reviewers because of how close they are in size. I think the Spydiechef has a thinner grind so it may cut better, but I am a snob for handle ergonomics and couldn't pass up on the rounded carbon fiber handle on the Kapara. But you should use your Spydiechef to cook a few recipes to get a good feel for what it excels at doing. And unrelated to the video itself, but I noticed Neeves Knives has commented in a lot of your videos. They do a lot of knife reviews but they also do knife live videos 2x a week every Wednesday and Saturday at 7 pm Central time. I'm assuming you're in California so that would be 5 pm your time. It would be a good way to network in the knife community if you're available at those times.
Hi! Thank you for your response. I actually caught my self pronouncing it wrong while editing the video. lol I’ve been using the knife to cut vegetables and fruits mostly. We still might get a Kapara soon but my dad has a lot of knives that are CF so it’s not on top of the list. Also, they didn’t have the kapara when we picked up the Spydiechef when we were in San Francisco (We Be Knives) so we didn’t really have an option to at least compare the two. I’ve seen Neeves knives videos and we actually follow each other on IG. Thank you for your insight and I appreciate you watching my videos.
I got the 1st version before the cqi. Ended up up removing the lanyard tube. Anyone know if I can purchase the improved screws and detent ball? I can install them myself.
Ok. Thanks. Great review by the way. Made me want to carry it again. It’s semi retired. Just purchased the Chaparral CF and that’s been my best option for office carry since I have to dress up. Maybe do a review for the Chap?
I've been wanting to get one to carry in harsh environments, but I don't want to pay that Spydie tax. By the way, "Polish" is pronounced pō-lish. Your review is so professional, but it would be nice to hear more of your thoughts and opinons.
Yes, I actually caught myself mispronouncing it after I loaded the video. lol I like the weight of the SpydieChef and also the feel in the hand. This will be sought after when discontinued. In my opinion, it’ll be like the Slysz Bowie down the road. Thank you for watching and I appreciate your input.
@@jadineorbe Yeah, it occurred to me after I posted my comment that maybe you just misspoke. Sometimes I used the totally wrong word and don't catch it until I'm editing.
Hello, we have the Manix 2 in S30V and it’s very wide and a little heavy in my pocket. M390 is an awesome steel so you can’t go wrong with either one. I prefer the Spydiechef because it’s lighter in the pocket and fits my hand better. Thank you for watching.
hi! i got into the hobby during quarantine since my dad collects knives. i guess i kinda picked up the hobby from him! thank you for watching and sticking around!
Neat design. For sure, handy in the kitchen. What situations do you actually use it? I'm asking because I don't own any folding kitchen knives. I think I would feel weird sticking it back in my pocket. I'm just not thinking of reaching for my pocket when I'm in the kitchen. No biggie, just different.
The blade is lower than the handle and it’s very ergonomic. I always ask my parents to use this knife whenever they are chopping something. I also ask them if I can do it. Thank you for watching.
Good review. I want to see more knife reviews from you. If you would like to join my edc knife page (small but growing. And I'm on a bunch) let me know. Maybe feature you for some reviews. And your father as well since you said he was into knives as well. I'd love to see more women get involved in the edc community.

different seeing a ladie review knives... honestly... its easier to listen to, maybe its tone? idk. keep it going. gives a different perspective on hand size as compared to the knife.
Beautiful Spydiechef!!😊
Cool seeing ladies interested in knives
Thank you for watching.
Just picked one up couple weeks ago ✔️😍
Definitely awesome knives. Congrats and thanks for watching.
Awesome review 👍

I appreciate the kind words and thank you for watching. The Spydiechef and the Kapara are both amazing knives. Can’t go wrong with both.
Great blade shape for chopping and slicing. I really, really like the Spydiechef. I'm going to save-up for it. Your videos are great!
Perfect for food prep! The blade shape on this is so sick. One of my favorites from Spyderco :)
Thank you so much for the support!!

It is one of my favorite spyderco folder knives, very well for daily using。Thanks for this great videos!Happy Chinese new year!
I agree! Extremely useful knife! Not only for tactical purposes but good prep as well! Thank you so much for watching :)

Hello Drake, thank you for your suggestion! This set-up works for me at the moment, but I’ll definitely go that route when I can!
So been planning to go for like 2 weeks now and then I see your video and you talking bout We Be Knives. Crazy shit. And good video. Hope to see more new video from you soon.
This is the first I've seen of you. Looks like a great channel. Good taste in knives. 🤙
i really appreciate that! thank you so much for watching!!
How did the knife hold up years later?
Hello is the handle smooth or is there some texture to it? Looks smooth but so does the 940 but that has a nice texture to it that makes it grippy
Some very very slight texture but overall a pretty smooth handle! Thanks for watching :))
I didn't even know there was a cqi version. Thank you
Thank you so much for watching :)
Is it on bearings or washers?
Really nice job on the review. You are good.
I appreciate it and thank you for watching.
Why did this remind me of asmr🤣
My go to EDC most days
Great to hear. I’ve been carrying the Delica and or the ambitious lately. 👍🏼

Good job on the specifications and the close up views were excellent.
Thanks for the video my Bladed Sister 👍 ⚔️ ✝️ 🇺🇲

Great review, cool knife👍

Very nice review. I recently bought a Spydiechef and I noticed in the factory edge there was some slight dark discoloration despite it being razor sharp out of the box. Did you experience this yourself?
Thank you! But no, I didn’t experience this. We handpicked it when we picked it up from the store. But thank you so much for watching!
this is one Spyderco I have trouble flicking open. Nice review!

I heard the lanyard tube rattles on some. I don’t have that issue. The screws you can definitely change, I’m not sure about the detent.

what would you recommend the manix 2 with m390 or the spydiechef

Excellent visual presentation. Much better job than Nick. And he’s good if not great.
I’m not too sure about that haha, but thank you that means a lot!! :)
He's Pole-ish, not fingernail paint.

I appreciate your input, thank you! And yeah I think it’s important to see the size difference. 👍
Like her voice but she said "polish" like ˈpäliSH. Try to be a little more freestyle not robotic. Great knife by the way .
lol yeah i caught that while editing. but thanks for watching!!
