That's sadly not always the case .. there's always a possibility, there's something that we can't see with the naked eye but a grader with technology can
These new cards from S and V will legit have whitening straight from the pack. Sword and Shield I never really saw that. Still most of them don't have a dot of whitening just might be OC.
It’s a normal way of thinking for most people, especially those are new to the hobby. That’s why I never use the term “pack fresh”.

How are you saying that card is LP and it grades an 8 that be near mint
LP cards can still grade as 7’s and 8’s.
A PSA 7 in PSA grading terms is deemed NM.
If you look at a PSA 7 card, most have edge wear and holo scratches. Would you deem that as a NM card ungraded?
