This tractor is the gas 134 cubic inch "red tiger" engine. It's an overhead valve (pushrod) engine unlike the 8n flathead. It always starts regardless of weather, has good power/torque, and fuel efficient. You may want to check out Steiner tractor.com and some of their UA-cam videos.
I have a 49 8n that runs beautifully. It turns a little more rpm than stock as the guy before me tampered with the governor, but it puts in some serious work and surprises all the Farmall guys
That reminds me of my childhood when we used to have a ford 601 work master diesel
I've got a '58 601...love it!
That thing purrs. Diesel or gas? I’m considering getting one now. Got enough power for you?
