    The hammer drill that you were using to set anchors in the boulders has a straight hammer setting and they sell bits for jackhammering. Itll work fine on dirt

    • @brandonconway4822
      @brandonconway4822 День тому +2

      @silentepsilon888 No, the problem is that it's battery-operated. Charging batteries in the field would require a generator. If you have a generator, you might as well just use a real jackhammer. They work way better than a drill.

    • @silentepsilon888
      @silentepsilon888 18 годин тому +2

      @ .. first off, not all hammer drills are battery operated. I have 3 that I use in my work that are 110Volts and they are perfect for light duty work which is what these guys do here. They are not breaking concrete, they are chipping away on compacted dirt with some rocks mixed in. The hammer drills are light weight and will not wear you out even when used for longer periods of time and they are strong enough to chip away the dirt in the cave.

    Matt, tarps/sleds
    Put heavy duty tarps or plastic snow sleds on the ground and then jackhammer at a higher level and let the debris fall onto the tarp, use shovels to toss anything that missed the tarp/sled on top of the pile, then you can drag it out.
    May be easier than buckets in some spots!

      @@turbocateyeS475 .. ah ok, and once you mute the video, how do you know when the music ends and how far to jump ahead? Because I am sure everyone here is smart enough to have tried that and every time missed the exact point when the music stops. Then you have to rewind back to figure out exactly when the conversations start again. I am sure you were aware or that before you commented, right?

Matt needs to organise a better extraction system [tracks and carriage, like old mines had] and widen the entrance ... good idea to bring someone with mining experience too...
