Very easy to make and the cake is so soft inside, with the outside slightly crusty. Will reduce the sugar to 90g the next time. This recipe is definitely a keeper.
To have a middle crack, I cut a line in the middle at about 20min and I did achieve a neat middle crack.

middle crack can also be achieved with a line of butter through the middle

Out from the oven! Light crisp crust and firm yet soft on the inside. With butter smell and slight fragrance from the tea leaves. I love this! Definetly a keeper! (made it with 90g sugar)

Follow this recipe exactly and it’s a success! I just use a knife to leave a cutting mark before baking the cake and it expanded beautifully

Easy recipe to follow. The cake was slightly dry even though I baked it for 33 minutes. I think I need to reduce my baking time to 30 minutes. I also made a lemon cream cheese frosting for it.

Just made this. The taste is incredible(used twinnings earl grey tea). Followed the exact measurements except the baking powder because it says on the description 3 grams or 1tsp but a tsp is roughly 4 or 5 grams. For some reason, it came out dry. When i was slicing the whole cake, i thought it would be a bit moist, but when eating, it sticks on my tongue and made the inside of my mouth dry. I put it in an airtight container and placed it on fridge. Hopefully it would be a lot less dry by then. Will try to edit this if there was a change. Nonetheless, it’s a great cake! Cant wait to try more of your recipes!

Apron , u should show how u make the split.
It is done by adding melted butter at the centre in a line (where u wish the split happens). *make a cross for more dramatic effect

I made this pound cake this afternoon. Just love the subtle fragrance of earl grey with a tinge of sweetness. The crust is a little crispier, maybe my oven temp was a little higher than the recommended 180°c. Nevertheless, we love the recipe. Thanks 😊

Hi, just tried to bake follwing all the requirements. I already add in the sugar and the eggs separately, when added in a bit by a bit, and each time beat for at least 1 min. (I asked many chefs around). Yet, never at the end I can get a very smooth mixture. Then when finished baking, the cake when cut open, you can tell the upper part might be ok, but the lower part might looks moist as uncooked properly. (Resulted fromButter and egg/ sugar not mixed well?- a common fault). By what means I can solve this issues? I tried many times still unsuccessful!
