*WHAT DO YOU THINK OF NORWAY'S ENTRY FOR EUROVISION 2024?*
Masterpiece, deserves to win
I LOVE IT! My winners so far
I dont like it....
My favorite among all entries, so far. 😍
I know it won't win but please vote if you love it. It deserve to win Eurovision 2024 🇳🇴🤘❤
You GUYS!!! Thank you so much for this awesome feedback! You are amazing
Norway is overdue for winning Eurovision and Gåte is going all in. Best of luck and lots of love from Denmark 💖💖
Statistically it will be you guys. You always win the year after Sweden lol
@@pezlover1974 Oh you've noticed that too! 😄
Never in my 50 years I have had such goosebumps for an ESC entry - for any song!
This is an etno rock trance masterpiece that will not only win ESC but also top the charts
incredible performance, love hearing Norwegian again after 17 years 🤩
After 18
the way I fall in love with this song more and more with every listen! that's how a winner songs should feel
That bit at the end where the singer's bending backwards, leaning on that rock, and singing her heart out? The entire song gives me chills, but that bit absolutely convinces me that the ESC circus won't have to travel very far from Malmö in 2025
This song is a masterpiece.
Love this entry from Norway, good luck from Sweden....❤❤❤
As a Norwegian, this really moved me. Seeing all of you appreciating our selection this year really made my day.
Norway 2025🇸🇯🇸🇯🇸🇯 Yes Yes Yes . This Amazing , Magic , sung with passion in Norwegian Song !!!. 🔥🔥🔥 . I love love love . 12 Points from Poland 🇵🇱🇵🇱🇵🇱
A lot of people weren't convinced about the song until it was performed live. And then people started screaming winner potential. Now imagine how much they can elevate the song and staging in Malmö! And the stage design will be perfect for the group! The 4 guys in each of the ends of the + and Gunhild, the lead singer, in the middle. And with the cameras spinning around, capturing the whole audience on the way... just wow!
So excited ! 🎉
12 points from Italy 🇮🇹 ❤🇳🇴
Gunnhild was only 13 years old when this band was formed back in 1999 and the other band members weren't much older. They've released some fantastic albums over the years. I admit I never imagined them competing in Eurovision, but it pleases me no end to see people reacting so positively to a song inspired by a medieval poem and an ancient "kulokk".
OBSESSED..
Me too
The first time I watched the performance it was instant winner vibes. I think that's the biggest "winner alert" I've had since The Netherlands 2019.
Norway are a threat!! 🔥
my winner this year 🏆
Absolutely epic. What an incredible band! The singer carries the spirit of the deep Norwegian woods. Her voice is clean as the purest water. She is like an elf, a fairy.
I love it! I love the Nordic sound and folkmetal is my kind of music! Her voice is amazing! I hope this wins! 12 p from Sweden
Out of this world performance🙏🇳🇴♥️
It was a pretty close race in the national final with Keiino.. I was SO happy when they announced Gåte as winners! About time we got some unique and traditional folk rock music to represent Norway!🇳🇴🌲🎻🧝🏼♀️
Finally watched it and my god is that a full package. Haunting song, singing is 100%, that staging is arresting (and looks so expensive and polished). I can see rooms across Europe and the world going perfectly silent and captivated while this on.
Maybe the winner is here ! Well done 🇬🇷
As a person from sweden, I must say congrats Norway, this one is all yours this year! What I've heard from what we may send to eurovision this far, nothing even comes close! Amazing!!
It's going to take an outstanding entry this year for anyone to beat this in Malmö. It's a spectacular song with lots of personality.
Btw this is so much better than Teresa and Maria which a lot of people are hyping up (great song too) The live performance elevates an already masterpiece to another level. It can win Eurovision, I'm convinced!
I´m so happy Gåte won and I loved all of yours reactions.
For those who doesn't understand the song. The lyrics are based on Norwegian folklore from over 1000 years ago. About a girl who lost her mother when she was born and get's bewitched by her evil stepmother. Her stepmother transforms her into a wolf and the only way to break the curse is to drink her brothers blood. She finds her stepmother wandering in the woods and kills her finding out she is pregnant with her baby brother.
Sick story😳
There may be differing versions, but according to an 'official version' I've read, the girl (who must be several years old by then) knows her stepmother is pregnant and therefore ambushes her (wolves are good at that) in order to break the curse by drinking the baby brother's blood - that's a better scenario than if she didn't know about the pregnancy. By the way, it seems the brother survived.
@@Yirmi_rahamim that's medieval folklore for you... not just in Norway
Yes, it is a masterpiece 🏆
12 points from France to Norway
I saw this band in Stockholm 2005, even still have a t-shirt. I know they split up like a year later, but didn’t know they were playing again. Love the song.
My fav so far! Very strong voice and the mix of rock and ethnic music wow! ❤
It's my favorite so far! I think they can win with this
Thank you all for your nice reactions, I love Gåte, they are from my hometown. They have played music for 30 years now and you should all check them out.
Well certainly not 30 years, as Gunnhild only was 8/9 then, but she indeed only was 13 when they first formed the group. Pretty crazy that she started so young.
I really hope this would win ❤
Epic awesomeness ... Soooooo captivating, imo: best entry from Norway in years ❤
Loving all your reactions!! 🎉 I was there, it was amAzing!! Been a fan for 20 years, they are a fab live band 🤩 you should all listen to their album Jygri - so good 👏🏻
was so lucky watching the dress rehearsal. it was incredible to watch her Gåte live. As a Norwegian i really think it has winner potential
12 points from Sweden
I 100% agree with Katie that I underestimated this when songs were announced, but man do I get it now! As for staging, I think it just needs to scaled, nothing more
For me it’s gone from 0-60 since our MGP reaction video last week!! Such a massive leap from first to second listen 🤩
The Key harp (Nøkkelharpe) is an old traditional folk instrument used in Norway and Sweden for a few hundred years.
Gåte is FANTASTIC!!
WOW WOW - WINNER
Thank you so much, I got goosebumps while watching! I were in the arena on Saturday and I literally cried during Gåtes performance. I'll save it & send it to all Norwegian Gåtehaters I come over, yes, there are some of them ...
We are serving our soul on a silver plate here. So thankfull we finally send something old and mythic.
Proud and happy for them to represent us in Esc 24!
Gåte 🇧🇻
Wen I heard that Gåte won the Norwegian contest I thought........ Finely we could have a winner....... without evan hearing the song......... Gåte is the perfect mix of Norwegian folklore and rockmusic.
I was at the final and cannot explain how Gåte lifted us up into a magical dark universe, where emotions, pride and primal belonging to our history did to us all. We are so grateful that you out there in the world see our Nordic soul coming from the depths of our hearts through this song to Gåte. Thank you for the wonderful reactions, we are looking forward to Malmö in May!❤
Norway's getting my 12 this year!
For me this is a winning song and thank you Norge for signing in Norsk! 🇳🇴🇳🇴🇳🇴🇳🇴 Oslo 2025
Your reactions are making me very happy! 🥰
i would say... KEEP THE STAGING there should be NO changes when it translates to that plus sign stage in Malmo Arena.
I love this a lot. It won’t be for everyone, and I’m not sure I see it as a winner based on what we’ve got so far, but it’s going to stand out as there’s nothing else like this in the contest.
When I first heard it it gripped me but I thought it would be too different to win MGP, and I’m very glad I was wrong about that.
Yes, I am having a very hard time figuring where they end up, but regardless, I'm very proud Norway is sending this. Finally an entry singing in Norwegian, it has all the mystical Scandinavian elements, and I personally love it. It doesn't have quite the catchy singalong thing going though, so it is hard to say how it ends up. I do think the sheer quality of it, will put it anywhere from top 15, all the way to potentially win.
My gosh! Watching, and listening to your reactions and comments, really touched me! I am so proud of Gåte! And I'm so proud of the voters, who dared to send this song ❤🎉
I am Georgian and support my country, of course, but I admire this band. The combination of Norwegian folk music and metal is very amazing for me.
Try listen with headphones like they did. You can really hear the details ❤
12 points from Ireland X
oslo 2025 !!!!!
Win 2024
poland 12 oints
I've started learning Norwegian a couple weeks ago... Should I try reading the lyrics?
Frankly, I am a little underwhelmed by the confirmed entries to ESC this year. Right now, this is my winner
i voted for them immediately, i love that they're representing my country
Norway this year is crazy.. I hope they win
This is my other big big favourite I love when the song sounds like the country. This and Ireland are my favs.
Norway is coming hella strong! Winner vibes!
Oslo 2025
This needs more promotionnnnnn!!! It's amaziiiiingggggg!!!
As a Norwegian I’m so happy that gåte is getting the love they deserve❤
The sound in the beginning is a thousand years old lure to lure cows back home in the evening..
Sandra is baaaack! I missed her!
Thanks for the wonderful reactions! MGP had a strong final this year, but ultimately, I am very happy that Gate won!
i LOVE IT!
I love this reaction.
Yes yes yes Gåte❤❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Wow. I love your reaction so much. Thank you to all of you.
🇧🇻❤️🇧🇻❤️🇧🇻 The winner!! ❤️❤️🇧🇻
Gåte is fantastic!!
Adele can probably correct me if I'm wrong, but the lyrics are inspired by a poem from the viking age, about a person that's cursed to be a wolf, but they can become human again if they drink their brothers' blood. They kill their pregnant mother, and therby drink their brothers' blood, and become human again.
The intro and refrain is a "kulokk" from the 1800s, which was used to call catlle in for feeding time at the farms in upper Telemark (a county in Norway).
Norway's probably not going to win with this song, but I'm guessing 8th place.
She kills her evil stepmother, the one who put a spell on her in the first place. Not knowing her stepmother is pregnant, she also breaks the curse by accidentally drinking her own brother's blood when killing her. That's the horror of the story as I undestand it.
Kinda right but a couple of corrections. It was her stepmother who cursed her to become a wolf. She would remain a wolf until she drinks her brother’s blood and the intention to the stepmother is that killing her brother would mean her death anyway. But then she encounters her stepmother in the forest and kills her. The stepmother is pregnant so she does in fact drink her brother’s blood and becomes a girl again. The “kulokk” (cow calling) could be found all over the country with a few regional differences but essentially the same sound) As for the story, it’s at least medieval, could be as old as the early medieval period (which is the Viking age)
@@pezlover1974 The story is found outside of Norway too and is probably a common Scandinavian tale, maybe even (north) German. Btw, the girl/wolf knows that the stepmother is pregnant. That's the cool thing - that's why she (the wolf) makes that ambush.
This is absolutley gorgeous! I got goosebumps. I’m from Sweden but I hope Norway takets the win this year.
Perfect song. Much sadness in Europe going on
She sings kullok, the language calls animals (chorus). It's about nørron mytologi. I loved the performance at GMP
Winner. Oslo 2025, see you.
You know... I hope this song will help people discover an amazing genre - if you can call it that.
There's a lot of good folk music out there, and many of them are quite or fully modern in form.
This is one... and I love it. I hope other people love it too, because it touches a core of my being.
I really hope this wins! Love from Sweden!
How would one apply to be one of the reactors in these videos? I'm from the US, but have loved Eurovision since studying abroad in Sweden in 2015 when they won (and I even ran into Måns on a flight :P).
This is norse!
12 point from France
WINNER!!!!!!
It was one of my fav! 🎉
12 points from Ukraine! I love it! Norway is a WINNER!

Takk takk 1000 TAKK❤❤❤❤❤🌠🍀
Its so euro pop culture❤
Euro music, folk, tek, funk, rock , met 3:04 al, spirit ,etc..
Love the language.
the song is taken from an ancient (1000 year old)norwegian medieval ballad, called "Møya i ulveham"(The girl in wolfskin). The Norwegian story exists in various versions, mainly from Telemark.[Basically, the story revolves around a young maiden being transformed into a needle, a knife and a sword by her evil stepmother. However, the people of the world appreciate both the needle, the knife and the sword. To punish the maiden even more, the stepmother transforms her into a wolf. The story ends with the stepmother staying with the child, and on the way to church the wolf pounces on her and drinks the stepmother's heart's blood. This lifts the curse, and the maiden emerges from the wolf's den.
Gåte the band has been together has played this kind music for 20 Years and are very famous i Norway
How the f*** did this get last place.... Unbelievable. Easily the best song. Easily.
Thanks for great reactions. I'm so looking forward to hear all the other songs. I'm still a bit sad for Austria doing so badly with Who the hell is Edgar last year. I loved that song!
In my book the winner this year!
I absolutely loved this song. What a pity that public favourites never win 😩 but I still have hope that Norway wins this year!
Thank god it’s not another kitchy song! On the other news NRK really shot themselves in the foot with their revolutionary 40/60 split.
It’s very Nordic! Have u heard Bjørk. It’s lovely and its melancholy the tone of the northern parts
Norway has actually won in Sweden before… and they won in Malmö😉
