The problem is ifit is quite a bit overpriced. Watching a bunch of pre-recorded content of people jogging in places, even more exotic places, shouldn't cost more than a Netflix monthly subscription. Netflix pays 100s of millions of dollars for some TV series. Doubt ifit pays that much for a years worth of trainer videos.

Thank you for a video that clarifies exactly what is available without iFit. I'm not going to shell out big bucks for a machine that doesn't have several basic programs without iFit. Manual control is nice, but I prefer a variety of pre-programmed workouts without paying through the nose.

On mine it has several options under the included workouts section which is pretty cool.. even Amsterdam =)
@@Learnwithtravis I'm not advocating iFit. I'm pretty disappointed with their content for cyclists. But I'm on a monthly membership and it's only $10 a month. So the price isn't terrible. They just don't seem to care about cycling anymore.
@@Robert.Sheard That makes sense. And it is hard to argue with that price. Not sure if it matches what you are interested in, but I really enjoyed the trainer and Zwift experience.
If you are out there ready to buy a over 2k Nordic treadmill with I fit …DONT. Once your subscription ends , it’s just the same as the 300 dollar treadmill out there. Manual ride or pay. What a waste of money
No, not really, you have a different motor, track , heavy duty treadmill versus a ‘$300” treadmill , I listen to podcasts quite a bit even with iFIT beacuse that is what I do outside…iFIT just a small benefit to me..
You can still feel the big difference in quality while walking or running. But I agree with many reviews that ifit subscription is way overpriced

Good stuff. I just ordered an S22, I did end up getting a year free of iFIT through my work, but I’m not going to spend $480 or whatever the cost will be in 2024. I’ll use my apple fitness membership and manually ride.
Good call! Nice to be able to use it while you can but have a inexpensive option lined up when that runs out. Hope you love it!
You should mention about the several included workouts included even without an active iFit subscription. There are solo journeys through the mountains and Amsterdam. As well as many guided walks and runs that come unlocked with it. Pretty cool for only a $800 machine that I paid 50 bucks for used in a Proform HIIT Cadence CS!

Go to browse at the bottom of screen then cursor down to included workouts.@@symphony2929
I have an older machine with iFit. This month it became obsolete and can no longer receive content. So iFit can definitely go away leaving you with only the basic functionally

My 1996 Nordictrack Protread plus has heart rate control. Years before Android screens, years before the ifit parasite, but it works perfectly.

I needed a stationary bike that doesn't take up a lot of space and I can stow away. This bike is perfect! I've been very happy with it.

i bought a profrom tdf 5.0 exercise bike a few years ago.
last year i had an e-mail that ifit are pulling support for older machines such as mine even thought it was working fine. A second e-mail a week or so later off ifit offering to sell me some brand new kit.So be prepared for that to happen to you in a few years, when they need some more money they'll just pull support for your kit and expect you too buy new. What a business model, to shaft their customers every few years.
I have a bunch of pro form devices tread, rower elliptical I don’t use ifit… I just use it as a standard equipment it still works

What's the point of having a monitor if you can't even use it like one? There should be a way to connect to youtube and watch any exercise video or walking video or even have a usb flashdrive to watch something off that. So disappointed in all of these exercise equipment that forces you to pay for ifit.

My 10 year old NordicTrack Professional Treadmill has internal workout routines more than I could use. It also has plug in memory card option for additional workouts, no bluetooth. I use my iFIT subscription (for my rower) for the treadmill routine, just manually adjust speed and incline to match the program.
How do I find the onboard workouts on NT 1750 treadmill? No internet connection is available.
Thank you. Using my trial right now, but it's so buggy that they are not selling me on the product. It all sounds great in theory, but just not living up to the hype. I really wanted the maps functionality, though. Le sigh.

@@Learnwithtravis I’ve been using the free version of JRNY for about 2-3 years. There is a fair amount of usable content and programs. After awhile you do get bored of the same trainers voices, etc. But your machine is still very usable. You just have to set your expectations.
I went to cancel my subscription and they offered me a "special" 1 year individual membership for $99.

Travis, any ideas why the iFit screen won't track my workout on my NordicTrack RW900 rower? The only function which works on mine is time.
Do you have a subscription setup and are signed into that account?
@@Learnwithtravis Yes, I do and am, but even without an active subscription, in the manual mode, I thought it would still show speed, strokes, and distance. Even after 15 minutes of strong rowing, mine still shows "0" for all three. When I select a subscription workout, it's as if I am doing nothing. Zero strokes, zero speed, and zero distance -- only time works. I suspect somehow the flywheel wiring is loose or broken. Any ideas as to that -- or other likely suspects?
On my proform bike, one of the wires slipped out of the harness and I was not getting info from that sensor. Sort of sounds like that. Not sure if you want to look or reach out to iFit but that is what it sounds like to me. Good luck!
@@Learnwithtravis Indeed. Thanks! That does sound like a likely suspect. I also inspected the main cable connecting the iFit screen to the flywheel device. It looks suspiciously crimped where the arm is attached. I may purchase a replacement wiring harness and see it that helps.

iFit seems to be abandoning cyclists. Live rides gone. Very few new series. The only thing they seem interested in is studio workouts (I assume because they're cheaper to produce.) I'm seriously considering ditching my membership.
Wish I knew all of this before I bought mine back in 2021. I paid a lot of super basic metrics. Ifit is not worth imo.

I currently have a free Family Membership that expires in a few days. I plan to downgrade to the Individual Plan. In doing so, do you know if I will lose all of my current activity?
You should not. As long as you are not creating a new account and only changing the membership level or your current account, you should retain all history.
@@Learnwithtravis Hi there, when ifit is complete and you enter manual mode are there optional programmable rides like up and down hills where the resistance will change automatically? Can you use the screen to use for streaming as I have seen different views on that. Thanks and nice dog!
@@jodyh2283 That's what I'm here to find out. I can't find a way to access a pre-programmed exercise without a membership. Hopefully I'm just missing it. Otherwise, they're locking an historically basic function behind a subscription paywall. I will return this stupid elliptical.
My manual runs (treadmill) are not showing in history. Any tips? It definitely has my name on the top left when I turn the machine on

It should have a just ride mode regardless. It would be a limited experience but you can still ride and change resistance\incline.

When I got my S15i I was able to use some included workouts from the Library without an iFit sub.
I am curious, are those still there if I pause iFit?
Mine are gone. I can only do the simple track. I'm supposed to have 35 onboard workouts, but I'm sure the was fine print 😏
So there’s not even basic interval programs without a subscription? I also hesrd there was a free class and a few workouts available, is this true? Does this video need an update?
I think it may need an update. I just activated the bike to update my review but when I cancel again I can look into this. I believe I had a comment saying they are not including a small set of rides without subscription.

Cant you use ifit cards bought online, from best buy or walmart?.
Last I knew you could put in card info but I am not sure these days.

I don't care about ifit I had to make one to unlock my treadmill if I cancel my ifit will my treadmill still operate or will it lock again unusable????
I don't have a treadmill to test with but pretty sure it still works, you just don't have access to iFIT content. Basically, it becomes a regular treadmill.

Without ifit on proform the touch screen does not let me change resistance
You need to unlock with a free one month iFIT subscription. After expiration you could still use the full function of the machine but just manually. You could try holding on the iFIT push button for 30 seconds (do not let go) and wait for the monitor to go thru a complete cycle see if that would unlock it.
Did you actually need a membership to used this equipment or you can used it without a membership?
You can use it without, but if you want basically any use of the attached screen, you will want the membership.

Not with iFit (last I checked). Options that have streaming that I know of - Peloton Bike Plus, Stryde Bike, Aviron Rower.
iFit sucks! They block me from using my computer for anything except iFit.
I literally got charged $420 even though my free trial expired a week or two before the charge. What gives iFit!? Stop trying to milk me, I’m not the 1%.
Basically I should have reminded myself to make sure I had no card payment tied to the free trial. Make sure you remove this or cancel ahead of time. Don’t want any surprise $400 + charges

Hello, I had purchased a s22 on the proform site . It came damaged with a smoker smell and a white substance on the handlebars . The box was ripped open before I received it. They wanted to charge me $250 and a 10% restocking fee for me to send a broken bike back. I spent 3 weeks pleading for them to get me a refund without all the fees because of the damaged bike they sent but the best they could do was a replacement.
That came a few days later with another damaged box and the same smell and substance on the handle bar. I sent that bike back because it was the same issue . Asked to be able to send the original bike back but once again they wanted to charge me the $250 plus 10% restocking fee.
I tried in good faith to work it out but they just blew me off.
I have read other reports and reviews of this happening .
If you are one of those people please respond to my comment . I am reaching out to the consumer protection agency and the ftc but will need a lot more support than just myself . Only if you had a similar issue . Such as receiving a damaged bike and stuck with the bill.

My profoam model pfel08920.0 serial mm140g0003217 suddenly have no screen but it beeps also said need permission Fr ifit. I never bought a subscription from them it came free for a year, never use it though. Always went to manual. Now I can’t manually use my resistance n no screen from ifit pop up either. Anyone know how to manually start without ifit I just need resistance to work when press now it only work for 15sec each time I press on numbers. Pls help thx. I don’t know if you understand anything I wrote. 😕 I did press n hold down 10-30 sec on the ifit but nothing happen.
I’m having the same problem. My screen says retry. I hold it down and nothing. Did you figure out how to override ifit?
Try disconnect then reconnect the power, reset the machine or update the firmware if it's possible. Otherwise it's time to start your subscription, no idea why they lock the machine without it. You need to call iFIT and have them activate your one year subscription. I tried to activate on their website but it had by subscription as not valid. Trying to talk to the iFIT computer bot was absolutely useless, don't understand my questions or what speak to a life agent mean. Had to phone and on hold for almost 2 hours. Then had the go around in circles before my one year subscription was accepted. Expect to waste half of a working day, good luck.

What do you mean by Android goes out? The software no longer is supported? I don't see that happening anytime soon.

Maybe. I have not looked into that and don't know if it can be done or not.
Has anyone found a way to search for free workouts on iFit?
iFit seems to have intentionally suppressed any functionality that allows you to easily search/filter on free content. I’ve only been able to randomly find free workouts by hit-or-miss browsing.
iFIT has a one month free subscription. Need your personal info and credit card #. Also UA-cam has workouts.
I found several workouts under the included content section when you browse the workouts =)
