Consider the fuzzy sets for a “high” concentration and a “fast” drainage rate as follows. H ̃="High\""= {0/100+0.2/150+0.4/200+0.7/250+1/300} and F ̃="Fast"= {0/0+0.3/2+0.6/4+1/6+0.8/8} For the compound proposition, if the concentration within the tank is “high”, THEN the tank should drain at a “fast” rate. Find a fuzzy relation using classical implication.
Apologies, you are right, the formula should have the denominators as sum of the membership values. It should be ux1 and ux2. Thanks for pointing it out :)
@@Topperly great explanation about fuzzy control, thank you, I also found the same question, besides, I tried you formula to calculate the x_bar, I found it maybe is 24.67, is it possible?
But how do you map all the different enumerations when you have inputs and you want the output. If you are 'mapping input to outputs', does it mean you map out every enumeration to map each input setting to pre determine defuzzified waiting. So if you 4 variables you have to have 4 dimendional mesh to map? Thanks so much.
Thanks for the video.. But in the end of the video, you were trying to do the defuzzification of a trapezoid using an equation. I am really concerned on how you get the data for variables in that equation from the given graph. I am unable to follow this.. can you give a clarification on this.. NB: I am telling about finding the centroid of both the trapeziums .. Thanks in advance and Good work
each figure has it's own point(x,y) which is center of their gravity. We only care about x value of that point. if you ask about how to get a b c d values you can use math rule about traingles that are of the same shape but different sizes. if you know value of one side of each triangle you can use proportions to calcualate other sides. Sorry for bad english.
@@pawel12313 THANKS FOR THE REPLY but can you please say the values of a,b,c and d for the second trapezoid. I got it as a=36, b=45 c=9 d=0.2, pls confirm, i appreciate your time

Hi Roli, There's no systematic way to create a graph of membership function in real life. We should consult someone who has deep knowledge on system which we are going to model and using inputs from observations, we should create a graph that fits the data :)
Consider the linguistic variable ‘Age’. Let the term ‘old’ be defined by μ_old (x)={█(0 if x∈[0,40]@(1+((x-40)/5)^(-2) )^(-1) if x∈[40,100])┤ Determine the membership functions of the term ‘very old’, ‘not very old’, ‘more or less old’.
Hello, thank you for your wonderful video. I'm still a bit confuse about the way to combine input fuzzy sets. Do temperature and pressure belong to 2 different universe? I understand that if 2 fuzzy sets belong to 1 universe, then we can use intersection or union to aggregate them. But if they belong to 2 different universe, how are they connected? Are the connection the same as what we do in implication process to find fuzzy relation between 2 different sets of 2 different universe? Thank you
Yes, we are considering 2 universes -temperature and pressure as inputs to a fuzzy controller and the output is the throttle setting of the steam turbine whose crisp value we are receiving by performing the Mamdani implication method and defuzzification.
@@Topperly Yes I understand that. But when you use the rule "If temperature is A and pressure is B", does it mean that you are finding the relation between 2 different fuzzy sets A and B (A and B belong to different universe)?
Yes, I'm basically mapping the inputs from two different universes to find the corresponding output which is also in another universe. This I'm doing with implication and the graphical inference method used here is Mamdani.
@@Topperly Do you remember how to create this formula? I want to use it in my program, i mean i already did and it works, but i have to link a proper source or show the method of creating the formula. I can't find simlillar formula in any source. Thanks

What is the value of a,b,c,d for centroid for x2 bar
In the last step i.e, defuzzification using the weighted average method denominators must be μx1,μx2 rather than x1bar,x2bar I guess.
