Mumei said she was told she was an alto. The range she does in karaoke made me doubt that.
Her low in this song made me believe her.
Mumei sings deep too sometimes in her Karaokes but never this deep. This was another level.
Mumei usually messes around when she goes deep in karaoke, but here she went all out. She has one of the greatest potential as singer in the entirety of hololive

hey hi hello, just popping in to say that Mumei is most likely NOT an alto (no offense to you believing her though). She's imo a mezzo soprano. She mentioned her vocal coach theorizing as much and I guessed the same quite quickly after debut when she started doing her karaoke streams. You don't have to be an alto to sing deeply, and Mumei also just has a very wide range

And, yes, the mixing was so fantastically done, like chef's kiss.

As someone who edits audio, hearing Bae mention "fifteen different mics in fifteen different environments" legit made my eye twitch.
Mumei has always been a good singer, shes got like a "sleeper build" in terms of range, you just wouldn't know soley based on her streaming voice.
That is unless one has heard the times she's done a male voice not using a voice changer and not seeming to strain to keep it up. Her inspector voice at the end of the Ministry Host Club stream and whatever the fairytale theater stream she did with Bae when ever she voiced a prince.

Mumei's vocal range is not to be underestimated.

I’ve been saying people were sleepin on just how good Mumei’s voice is. Her vocal range is wild and I love when she shows it off (usually when singing songs from musicals). With every karaoke stream she showed more and more progress and I’m so glad she’s finally getting more attention for it. Precious owl is her own worst critic, so positive support goes a long way. I love her voice so much
Mumei sleeps on it herself. But then I have the blasphemous opinion that she outsung Suisei on her own song.

Yep, that's Mooms for ya. Her range and lower-toned vocals have always been absolutely amazing. She's also shown off her incredible deep-voiced singing in her karaokes, from time to time. Prime example is her cover of, "Kick Back", which I highly recommend listening to. :D

Ollie's voice has improved since her debut cover of "Kyoran Hey Kids" and has such a sweet voice.
The vocal mixng really was outstanding. Normally with bigger collab songs, at least one voice stands out (for me it often is Suisei just because her singing is often deeper and more powerful than others), but in Mind Craft, all the recordings sounded super cohesive. Yuniko-san did wonders here.
Yeah, I was confused when the video showed Mumei at that part, because I thought it was Kronii at first. That million yen was well spent, giving the fans a taste of how well each of the girls can sing.
The owl can be cute, cool and scary after all!
I highly recommend searching for her Endurance Karaoke stream, sadly unarchived on her channel but you can find it elsewhere... 8+ hours and 101 songs, a lot of scuff as well, but you can really see how good she is in there

Mumei is fascinating as a vocalist. Her power is in her lower ranges, but her control is in her upper ones. Ever since she first sang in Karaoke, I think every hooman has been waiting for ASCENDED MUMEI where her power and control extend to all parts of her range.

Yes, we Hoomans knew about Mumei's sultry mommy voice. On rare occasion she'll let it slip, and it's something- I dare say- as deep as Calli, but cleaner and with more range on the finish. Pure Concentrated Ara Ara.

It just surprises some people because of the talking voice she has. She says she is an alto which seems to check out she tends to struggle with higher pitch and is fine with low.

Mumeis deep voice is insane, im glad she's gotten to the point where she can use it both confidently and consistently enough to record with (its much easier to go up than it is down when you have issues with your soft palette and upper respiratory etc hence her regular speaking voice sounds the way it does)

For those interested, look up "Mumei soothing". There's a 40 second clip that gives a pretty solid example of Muemi's voice range.
As far as I know, Mumei's vocal range is very wide, and she used to participate in a choir.
From what she has said, the reason she doesn't use it very often is because she struggles to hold it without choking, presumably related to her "phlegmmyness" as she puts it, which means changing how her soft palate sits to achieve that deeper smoother voice can feel very uncomfortable
