Notes I took while watching/listening to Fr. Jerry:
• Walang bagyo that lasts forever.
• May forever ba? Sa bagyo, wala pong forever. Dumadaan lang po yan talaga. Kaya nga inuulit ko po ngayon, kung may pinagdadaanan kang mabigat, problema… kapatid, daanan mo lang. Wag kag umistambay dyan. Kaya nga pinagdadaanan.
• THIS TOO SHALL PASS.
• Don’t forget that in the strongest storm, the Lord is with us.
• “Take courage. It is I, do not be afraid.”
• All of us have been crippled by the virus. Real fear is real fear, but I won’t allow my imagination to cripple me. This is what the Lord is telling us today.
• “Do not be afraid. Take courage. It is I. I am with you.”
We are aware of the reality, but also, Lord, please cleanse us of unnecessary fears that make us selfish, that make us sad, that make us angry, that make us hopeless and depressed.
• Perfect love casts away fear.
• Stay focused on Jesus, not on the chaos.
• While there are no concrete answers to our uncertain situation right now, we have a clear message from God: “I am with you. Always.”
• Any time you are afraid, say, “Come, Holy Spirit. Come, Holy Spirit.”
• Your loved ones do not belong to you. They belong to God. More than to you.
• You belong to God more than to them. That’s why you have to let go.
• Don’t be afraid to be poor, to be lonely and to be insignificant (you don’t always have to be heard, to have a say or claim on anything.) - this is the kind of transformation that happens when you believe that God is with you.
• “Lord, have mercy on me. I am a sinner.” (The key? Humility.)
• If you are humble, you’re reconciled with God, you get reconciled with the world. Apologize and be at peace with yourself. Blessed are you.
When God leads you to a scary place, or a scary situation, it is because He wants you to trust Him more.
• If you entrust yourself to the Lord, things fall into place.
• When you’re in a mess, do not panic. God cannot help us because you’re so restless, madami kang complain, madami kang galit - “Be still and know that I am God.”
• This is a very difficult time and it calls for a tremendous grace. God is at work.
Prayer
“Dear God, you know me. You know all my fears, my worries, anxieties. I surrender to you again all that I am and all that I have. Jesus, i trust in you. Mama Mary, I love you. I surrender to you. You are my God, my Lord. Kayo na po ang bahala sa amin. Help our world. We believe in your power. We believe that you will restore and heal our world in time. In Your Time. Amen.”
• We should be preparing instead for when we come to face the Lord.
• There is divine justice.
• Pray for God’s mercy. Pray for conversion.
• Pray that the Lord will remove all our fears.
• There is no greater force/power in this world than gentleness of heart.

I'm very much aware that I am fearful and anxious all the time. This homily really put things into perspective for me. Hang in there, fellow believers. God is with us. Siya na po ang bahala sa atin at sa mga mahal natin sa buhay.
