It wasn’t that people who went to see it opening weekend didn’t tell their friends to go see the movie, they actively told them not to go see it. The movie is a dumpster fire of bad worn out tropes and bad cliches.
Even in the comics nobody cares about Kang, having an entire phase revolve around him is such a weird move. Doom needs to push him to the side asap
Hard agree... why they didn't go the Doom route or hell even the Galactus or Beyonder route will always be weird. Kang was such a weird move.
@@reyalexandro they should have setup up f4 by now instead of wasting time in phase 4 with lame experiments
Lol John went from making fun of people reporting on the marvel numbers and saying they were bad to doing the same exact thing 😂
Kevin Feige might be thinking about what Harvey Dent said in The Dark Knight: "You either die a hero, or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain." 😬
End Game was the perfect ending. Artistically, the MCU should have ended there. Disney doubled down and kicked out half of the MCU now in just 2 years. They need to get back to the basics.
My dude, yes. The content was top tier back then. Not to mention that, structurally, it capped off as a perfect resolution to the saga of films. This is the money machine not understanding what we loved about all the previous films. These products overall are lacking in heart and scope/vision.
yes.. END a business machine that's making BILLIONS for them... how smart of you...
Yes and no. Yes it was a perfect ending. But no, I don't think that means they can't still make Phase 4+ great as before or that MCU should have ended. The problem is they lost their vision. If they took a bit more time - like say a year or two to properly plan out, write out the next phases, it could still be great. Instead, they rushed ahead and put out too many projects. If they slow down and start taking their time to make each project matter and each one great again, MCU can still be like it once was. So I don't think MCU had to end, it just hasn't been properly executed post Endgame.
@@Yic17Studio I agree. Take time, make a good story, and you'll get back. The MCU has lost that "special" feeling by kicking out so much material, and unfortunately, more than half of it has been crap since End Game.
@@safetypinned77 They could have ended and done a relaunch. Throwing out a bunch of crap and hoping it works isn't a great strategy for audience enjoyment.
Feels like it would have been better to go MODOK heavy as the villain and Kang light as a side villain with post credit scenes showing his army and that hes a much bigger force to amp him up for the future. Focus more on AntMan on Earth with real ,comics acurate MODOK created by AIM as the main villain. Have it a heist movie with elements and mechanics involving having to go back and forth to the quantum realm instead of just staying there. That way it still feels like an ant man movie but also quantum realm elements.
Just rewatched the first Ant Man a few days ago. Night and day compared to this one. Makes me wonder how much of the first Ant man was more Edgar Wright than Peyton Reed.
MCU is almost structured like a series but like most tv if u replace your main characters the show usually nose dives in ratings

I am a comic book nerd, and I am shocked at myself that the only superhero movies I thought were above average over the last couple years were 'The Batman' and 'No Way Home'. I liked all the rest, but I didn't love them. Since I had loved almost every superhero movie over the last couple decades, this came as quite a surprise to me. I think they need to slow down and get their stuff together before moving on.
I wholeheartedly agree with John that Marvel is concerned. You can't ignore the reports about Marvel's troubles with CGI artists hurting this movie, nor to be honest, Writer Jeff Loveness's kinda weak defense of the issues people are having with the writing & the story, as well as him admitting in interview that they are still working out the plan for Phase 5 & Kang Dynasty.
The last time *someone* said they were "still working out the plan", we ended up with the sequel trilogy.
To address Rob’s point about it not feeling like an Ant-Man movie: Kevin Feige has said that for trilogies, he likes doing something completely different for movie 3 so that it doesn’t feel like more of the same. For example, Thor 3 being a comedy; Cap 3 being a mini Avengers movie; Spider-Man 3 focusing on the multiverse. This strategy has worked for them in the past so I didn’t have an issue with them trying it again. Just wish the execution was better.
I've just realised one of the many reasons Ant Man 3 doesn't work is because the title characters don't make any new or interesting choices! Think about the rest of the marvel trilogy toppers, the characters make choices that redefine their stories going forward (Tony, Thor, Steve, Peter!) Here Scott Lang literally starts the movie exactly the same way he finishes it. It's superfluous. You don't need to see this movie.
I managed to see it this weekend. While I enjoyed it more than I didn't enjoy it, the drop makes complete sense to me
This is why Kevin Feige is now wisely spreading out and making adjustments to the MCU. This movie should had some more rewrites and reshoots. Not to mention they completely got rid of one of the best characters in the MCU, Luiz!
I don't think that's it. He oversaw every script for an entire underwhelming phase 4. Hundreds of millions of potential profits were lost from underperforming movies. Feige or not, with investors losing money, they were always going to tweak the formula. Imo it feels like throwing the baby out with the bath water when they say they plan to make fewer movies. Sure, there may have been 1-2 too many shows, but the obvious real problem is the scripts and almost all the movies having the same disney channel jokey vibe. If they cut their production in half but still have bad writers, that's a double loss. Marvel choosing to get better writers isn't a quality over quantity issue. It's just a business choice they need to accept. When i see antman hug his daughter during the middle of a war, I don't think "this movie needed more time in the oven." I think when Marvel read this guys initial script, they should have already known to find someone with more talent.
It's the writing Jeff Loveness has never wrote. A film until antman Quantum Mania, this man has no business writing Avengers : Kang Dynasty. Kevin feige needs to wake up
I agree. Markus and mcfeely had experience before IW/EG with captain america.
Kevin feige prefers to work with yes men than actual professionals who care about their art.
@@pooby887 that's the thing he hasn't been hands on. because it's too many projects going on so films are suffering
They never built Kang up in the previous movies like they did with Thanos. I didn’t know much about Kang before this movie so wasn’t fearing him.
Scorsese was right, these are just theme park rides
MCU seriously needs another Winter Soldier!
For those who didn’t get it: People were close to drop MCU cuz of Ironman 3 and Thor 2 back in 2013 but then in 2014 Cap 2 happened and fans were interested in MCU again…
Hopefully, GotG vol. 3 will be the Winter Soldier of the Multiverse Saga. Marvel can't afford to lose 2023.
Poor Rob. He never gets a word in.
You keep saying 96.7% drop
It's 69.7%
I was so confused throughout! Like that would mean it made virtually no money in its second week 😅
Rob fucking nailed it! starting at 10:33 they used the wrong person to introduce Kang. This would have worked if it was Tony or Steve/ T'Challa (if he was still alive) but they used someone who doesnt deal with this something this big. Now it could have worked it part of the storyline was that he was in over his head, but the writing wasnt that good and they focused too much on Cassie to set up the young avengers.
That's actually where I disagree with Rob a bit. I do agree that Quantumania was more a story you would expect for Thor, The Guardians of the Galaxy, Doctor Strange, or Captain Marvel, but it could have worked if the writing and characterization were stronger. Stories about seemingly ordinary people being unexpectedly whisked away to strange new worlds are a staple of fantasy and/or pulp storytelling. (See also: The Wizard of Oz or Narnia). You need to establish the characters first, and how they had some sort of conflict in their boring normal world before they're whisked away to make that work.
In all honesty, the opening prologue in San Francisco should have been AT LEAST ten to fifteen minutes longer, just for the sake of re-establishing Scott Lang and his supporting cast of characters. Instead, they were in too much of a hurry to get to Narnia meets the Star Wars Galaxy by way of Rick and Morty.
By the way John, if you're saying it took 31 movies to get to the "clunker", that's a really good win %.
The fact that they are delaying some release dates means they see the problem and are addressing the issues.
Part of the problem I honestly think is the tone is being repeated all the time now. Every movie has the same vibe, same quips, same awkward humour and CG overload. I get it, that is the MCU brand. But eventually that is going to wear a bit thin. The MCU needs its Logan or Joker. Even if you don't like those movies, they are so different to whatever else is happening in DC or Marvel.
@@Dutch3k5 Massive difference. Logan had all the critical acclaim. Critics hated Eternals despite being directed by a critical darling. I haven't even seen Eternals, but maybe whilst being different, it just isn't written very well?
Incorrect lukesmale24. The mcu tones are varied.More so then the dceu.Eternals is not agents of shield,or the netflix mcu shows(all non canon but still mcu)Loki is nothing like black panther etc..
@@GilbyMinaj Oh I didn't say that. DC had the same problem with tone. But there problem was everything was just the same type of dark and misery for every movie for a while there.
@@bricktwo5849 Still not varied enough. Hence that is why the DCEU is dead as a doornail. Does Marvel want to follow suit? They need to change it up............and soon.
I honestly think DC has a huge opportunity. I’m not saying that DC will destroy MCU and MCU is dead… no, not that.
But if they come out kicking 🦵 with the best Superman movie of our time… and kills Avengers in box office… that would completely change the game.
And I totally believe James Gunn can do that. I believe in his ability to tell a great fun story!
The way I see it, history has a way of repeating itself. DC dominated marvel for many decades, then marvel did the same and then DC did it again with their movies and shows and then marvel did it again with their films and yes, I do see DC dominating marvel the next decade. There’s just no denying that DC has some of the most interesting villains and heroes, and they shine when under the right management. I definitely see James Gunn being that great leader.
Absolutely, the throne for the biggest movie franchise is ripe for the taking. All the iconic MCU characters are seemingly out of the picture. While the DCEU characters are going to get a fresh start. If things don't work out for Marvel till Kang Dynasty, it will be a huge opportunity for DC to deliver on their promise and reclaim their throne. I just hope that audiences don't get fed up of the mediocre projects by then, killing the genre and any potential entirely.
I like that Marvel recognizes their problem, but Imo, it feels like throwing the baby out with the bath water when they say they plan to make fewer movies. Sure, there may have been 1-2 too many shows, but the obvious real problem is the scripts and almost all the movies having the same disney channel jokey vibe. I think at this point ppl will only show up big time for the big movies. Not for the connective movies. After the pandemic the general public don’t have time to put towards keep up with all that.
He keeps saying 96 percent drop. It’s 69.7. A 96 percent drop would have made like 5 million
Jesus Christ does every Marvel fan just think that one movie is going to solidify the whole MCU IS DEAD concept. People seriously need to get a life man.
Not the MODOK thumbnail 😂😂
Thanos had years of build up behind the scenes as this looming threat and Kang kind of just came out of nowhere. He was only teased in Loki leading up to this so i think they should have taken more time to build up his presence in the MCU. Remember this was supposed to be an avengers level movie so I'm sure theyre extremely disappointed with the box office returns on this one.
But they’re still building up to Kang tho. The next avengers movie is all about him and his variants. If this was all we got it would be disappointing but we’re still getting more appearances by him later
I can't imagine the most casual of MCU fans left Quantumania with the understanding that Kang was supposed to be the next big bad.
When it comes to big villains the key word to me is pace (just take your time to fully show us this guy whoever he might be). The introduction of Thanos was just majestic and intriguing. We get the chance to see him in a couple of post credit scenes before his final appearance. By doing this they are showing the audience: 1) that the first set of villains we just finished watching are nothing compared to this last guy appearing on screen 2) the chance to allow the public to perhaps get to find out who he/she is, and 3) the chance to build up pleasant anticipation, and encourage debates and theories. (Phases 1,2 ,and 3 had that ability to make people wonder what's coming next, but phase 4 lost that).
I think this is the new standard for the MCU post-Endgame. Audiences have been trained to show up to these films opening weekend and they have their loyal fans who go as soon as the film's come out but they're losing the casual fan. Every film has dropped more than 60% in the second weekend since No Way Home.
NWH: 67.5%
DS: 67%
Thor L&T: 67.7%
BP: 63.3%
Antman 3 - 69.9%
It's not the volume, it's the leadership and the direction the MCU went in under Bob Chapek's term as CEO of Disney. They began hyper-fixating on gender and multiculturalism to build their global brand. Which in itself isn't bad but, they executed it poorly and it's come off as condescending and pandering.
The news coming out that they sacrificed Quantumania's special effects resources to focus on "Wakanda Forever" is a good example of bad decision making.
Hopefully Bob Iger will right the ship and focus on hiring experienced directors who are passionate about the genre.
I think side quest Ant Man was the wrong vehicle to introduce final game boss Kang. To use a gaming metaphor.
By the end of Avengers Tony already had a personal connection to Thanos. It became an obsession that drove his beliefs and behaviour. All the conflicts. By the time.thanos arrives in Infinity War, the tension is palpable because its the culmination of a showdown between these giants.
Who is Kang connected to? What conflict has Kang created between characters. There's just something really off with MCU right now. All the money and toys in the world and they can't tell a basic story any more.

I'm not sure how strong the theory that Kang isn't a well-known villain is to the German public.
The general movie audience didn't know who Loki, Thanos, or any other villians are either.
The problem is the huge impact Khang lacks as a villain. Thanos and those incredibly powerful stones were just better constructed. Over so many films you learn that these stones can change a universe if you have them and if you have them all you are the god of the universe. And the smallest child understands that if a being can do that it's a powerful problem and he has to be stopped. Khang and time and the Qantum world is just so far away from what we understand that it's just unrealistic. And in the end he is defeated by ants who have been to the future. Just too much. And I personally found the film just annoying to watch. And way too much CGI.
@@tryingtochangemyways5074 yes at the end you are right. if you compare that to when Thanos beat up the Hulk. Khang becomes an even smaller opponent..Thanos would have taken Wasp apart.
Since James Gunn is running DC and also directed Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 there is a lot riding on him this May.
I have a bad feeling about THE MARVELS movie...
Well they made a ton of great movies. Anytime there are 30 movies in a franchise, they are eventually not going to be great. Most film franchises go downhill far sooner than Marvel.
The same thing that happened with Game of Thrones is happening with the MCU….someone gets a job offer with Star Wars and all of sudden an entire franchise crashes and burns.
Along Rob’s point, you want either iced tea or hot tea, and this movie delivered lukewarm tea which no one wants.
when you guys say that we should not have any expectations going in to watch a movie for the first time I would agree if the movie is not connected to any other movie or a series , but if the movie is a part of a connected universe or a sequel to a franchise I should have some expectations or standers that the movie must live up to like in ant-man they gave us 2 good movies so of-course I expect the 3rd one to be at the same level if not better and yes I know thats not what usually happens in most movies but that doesn't mean that we should accept what ever movie they make without any expectations because when every thing is acceptable then nothing is exceptional
I really like the last line of your comment. And this is not just a franchise, it is THE franchise that implemented the connected nature of films. You cant go to every film with low expectations just so you wont be let down, long term will just muddle the mcu further.
I'm sorry, but Peyton Reed is not the main person to blame here, its writer Jeff Loveness, who's owned up to making all the story decisions himself. It's clear that Kevin Feige has given him a lot of free reign, and it didn't work.
I'm especially worried about Kang Dynasty now given Loveness's comments and lame defense of the story issues many people are having with this movie. Outside of the CGI, the story & writing are the biggest problems with this movie. I honestly cant see Feige giving Loveness any free reign when it comes to Kang Dynasty now.
I just read an interview with Jeff Loveness, the writer of Quantumania, and his mental gymnastics left me baffled. So Rob's analysis of the film's issues were right on the money. I hope John covers it on the show. The Rick and Morty writers have got to GO!
Why are MCU "fans" so eager to see the franchise fail? Doesn't make any fucking sense...
Because they delusional and crazy.
Same one that say “m she u”
They feel special for being negative over a children’s movie.
Yeah, I feel like everyone’s memories of the Phase 1 films have become seriously distorted after all the payoff we got with Endgame. Good but not great has been Marvel’s bread and butter since day one, and it’s interesting that everyone has suddenly decided that’s not good enough anymore.
@@slowodanx No, you keep coping. Thor 2 and IM2 were not this bad. And in that case, their course was clearer then.
I do think Marvel needs to reel back their output as a studio. And I do think they’ll go back to 1 or 2 projects a year. As a comic book reader, I can tell you some of the stories in their library just are not worth telling. They forgot “quality over quantity” and now they’re paying for it.
Luis ❌️ Cassie ❌️ Modok without mask ❌️ Kang Defeated ❌️ Kid Comedy ❌️
Well....
If the next couple of MCU movies disappoint like antman l, then can we call it a down turn for Marvel.
The MCU should’ve taken a 5 year hiatus after Endgame. Nothing interesting happening in the MCU since RDJ is gone.
Not only that, they should have found their new trilogy to lead the Multiverse Saga. Also, during those five years, they could have made non-canon MCU films.
I don't think that much is needed, they've just been making the wrong choices. They've been trying to introduce new characters like phase 1 but the movies haven't been the same scale as phase 1, they've all tried to be as big and exciting as endgame but that's not possible. You need room to breathe and build up. Shang Chi should've been simpler, Black Widow should've been simpler, Eternals shouldn't have even been done at this point and Ant-Man certainly should've been simpler
If Cocaine Bear is able to go toe to toe with this movie then I know for a fact that Creed 3 will absolutely destroy the box office when it comes out and stomp the shit out of AntMan.
I took my kids Saturday night on the second weekend and it was dead not many people in the theater at all
When I listen to people criticize this particular movie Quantum Mania what comes to my mind is they don't basically understand what the movie was about was Kang dangerous absolutely as soon as he got the suit of armor he was able to do amazing things energy projection telekinesis released massive blast when he lost the suit when the ants destroyed it he then became what he is a normal the very highly intelligent man
The visuals in this movie are stunning
obviously Quantum Mania is not our universe it's a separate Universe it looks completely different than anything we've seen before since the laws of time and space do not apply here people should not have expected it to look real or like anything we've seen in another movie something's were similar but many things were completely different
The acting was great especially the main characters it was full of good action some of it quite different and the movie moved at a fast pace taking time to pause only when necessary to explain to us what was going on
I believe going on in time this movie will be better reviewed
I think the team are being a bit overly critical on the box office here. Quantamania first week exceeded financially and even tho it had a 70% week 2…. The opening two weeks still far out pace the previous two Antman installments. Currently I can’t see marvel seeing this than anything but a win, we’ll see what the final box office delivers before we make our final conclusions.
creed 3 is gonna be tough competition for antman this weekend. antman 3 will be lucky to make 500 million
One of the biggest issues I have with Quantumania is that there isn't enough Scott Lang in a movie where Ant-man is in the title. There's WAY too many characters and I feel like that's probably a big reason I feel this way. You get a bunch of new characters who for the most part are pretty one note although some of it is funny but the one character that matters the most for this movie to succeed is Scott. There was hardly any character arc to speak of and they tried and failed to convince me why Ant-man should care about Kang or the quantum realm.
Hopefully this lights a fire under them creatively…tell their writers to write better movies/shows.
Mediocre Fatigue! Well said! 👍
The MCU just needs to SLOW it's output and focus on QUALITY over quantity. Maybe 3 movies MAX a year (including spider-man and only if there's an Avenger's film.)
With the success of endgame they thought they could just have a greater output and consumers would fall in line. Not if the movies aren't up to snuff.
And seeing Jonathan Majors' performance in Loki my reaction was: This guy sucks, call me when Galactus shows up.
@@dmat606 what part of "MAX" did you not understand? I'm saying 1-2 should be their normal output.
Mediocre fatigue. I like that. 5:02
Even if Guardians 3 is great, which I think it will be, the movies going forward are still concerning. One movie being great is just not enough. It seems they're just not hiring talented directors (and writers) to make great movies these days or their overall vision/tone is off somehow. Kevin Feige needs to get it back on track. Or maybe we wait for James Gunn's DCU to take off and take over MCU - hopefully with a bunch of great movies that feel like they matter again.
And UGH, Campea, it's a /////*****69%******///// drop, not 97%.
So while you're not saying the sky is falling, you're directly implying it by not using the right number.
Its all goofy and silly. If they dont take the characters and story seriously, why should we?
As usual Rob is 100 percent right in his take on Ant-Man 3; Marvel turned it into something it’s not. It was an interesting idea in theory, but man did it not work well at all.
Every second phase 1 MCU movie I saw at least twice, Civil War a dozen times. I haven't seen a phase 4 MCU film more than once and with some I wished I hadn't seen at all. Dropped the MCU shows after Hawkeye and I'm at the point of "Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me" I'm done with Marvel.
I used to be beyond stoked when new marvel movies were announced and would be there to see them opening night. Nowadays in all honesty I just don't care. Besides No Way Home, every movie or show that has come out after End game has been mediocre to awful. Marvel honestly lost sight of what made their movies good. All these politically driven shows and films really divided their fan base. That's what I think made Phase's 1-3 so successful. No agendas and just good story writing. Idk just my opinion.
@@YOURMINDMOTIV Yup I totally agree. It’s success came from Toby and Andrew being a part of the film.
It was also terrible weather almost all over the country. But that couldn’t have anything to do with it.
I will say that I think that not enough emphasis is being put on how the critical reception effects the box office. Everyone I know uses the Rotten Tomatoes aggregate score as the barometer of whether or not a film is worth while, and for whatever reason, Quantumania just didn’t resonate with critics. The audience score is actually quite high in comparison to some of the other recent films.
I personally loved the movie. I think Jonathan Majors did a great job as Kang. I can see some of the points that some people are making as to why they didn't, with it not feeling as the last 2, but I still think it made sense to introduce him in the quantum realm.
I went a few hours before my brother. I called him immediately after and said, "I don't think you should spend your money in this. You can wait till it hits D+"
So we really are criticizing literally a NO NAME CHARACTER that marvel turned into a BILLION DOLLAR FRANCHISE. AND Marvel movies are FRONT LOADED because everyone goes to see it when it opens. Get use to BIG DROPS WEEK 2. So this is a NON-EVENT. John you can do better.
You are wrong. This was the big screen introduction of their new big bad (Kang) and it's key to the multiverse arc. This may not even pass the first Ant Man in box office
Welp.. It's on you now, Guardians.
@healthiswealth it absolutely could be a mess, no doubt. And I think John has a point when it comes to DC and Marvel needing each other. The bad taste that Ant Man 3 has left with viewers will not help Shazam 2 whatsoever (not that the marketing has been good for that movie because it hasnt) but I do think these studios feed off of each other's success since the general audience could give af about what studio puts out what movie.
I think the big problem with the MCU is that they are forgetting about the general audience and focusing on comic book fans. Esp now that we lost Tony, Steve, Natasha and T’Challa, we are left with a cast that were never super popular, esp Antman who was always considered the most forgettable Avenger besides Hawkeye. And now they keep introducing new characters and stories instead of building up the previous secondary characters to take the lead.
i think 4-5 projects a year, but im leaning more towards 4 as a sweet spot, 2 shows, 2 movies, good to go
Your probably not going to get a big time MCU movie until 2024 when deadpool 3 comes out
I think the MCU should’ve taken a two to three year break after Endgame. Our expectation level after that movie was left very high. Honestly think is audience needed a break
i mean they kinda did, granted it was because of the pandemic but it was like a year and half of no new content
Um they did during the pandemic. From July 2019 to May of 2021 there were no Marvel movies. WandaVision was in January of 2021, yes, but that was more than enough time off. Stop it.
Like John/Kris said, I don't think it's comic book movie fatigue, it's mediocrity fatigue. I adored the MCU until they started pumping out bunch of tv shows that became mandatory to watch in order not to be lost in the movies. I can't bring myself to watch 5 different 'Okay' shows filled with side characters just so I can fully understand the movies coming after them. And even the movies became bland af, now every movie is leaning into the multiverse/sci fi, save from Black Panther 2 which was probably the best of the bunch.
Marvel got lost trying to make bunch of shows n shit and the quality of their movies dipped along with the shows cause they just can't handle the volume of content they're making, so everything they put out now is good at best, not amazing as it used to be.
I agree with John guardians needs to be a banger
The first Ant-Man had this line in all the trailers where Hank Pym says "it's not about saving the world, it's about saving hers" (in reference to Cassie Lang)
It seems they lost that. Scott Lang is a well-meaning father who wants to make his daughter proud but can't stay out of trouble. He isn't Iron Man or Doctor Strange. The story of this movie is Avengers-level, and it shouldn't be.
Other than No Way Home, Shang-Chi is the only post Endgame/Far From Home MCU movie that I feel was good. The MCU, while still overall good, has definitely lost some steam. It has to be the over saturation of content, bad writing, and the loss of Chris Evans and RDJ.
I don't agree with you on No Way Home which I think was garbage, but not as bad as Antman 3.
When more products of your company are just okay, you gotta expect "okay" numbers
It’s because you have Antman being your savior, and a lot of people still don’t know Kang. Besides comic book readers, the guy’s never really been a big bad, and he just briefly showed up in Loki, which some people probably didn’t even see.
You had T.I. and Michael Peni, who was so hilarious, including the relationship with the X and his boyfriend. His cute little girl who idolized him. That's what made Ant-man
I saw it on Sunday and the theater I went to was mostly empty. There was some people there, but a lot of empty seats. I liked the movie.
scaling back is something that should be done but its a band aid.....the writing, directing, cgi, art direction, tone etc are all to varying degrees major issues not to mention for casuals trying to keep up with everything which is becoming a chore at this point for many especially when many of the movies and shows aren't that great..........Daredevil was great that is gone.....its coming back under the Disney/MCU banner who knows how that will turn out.
they made kang seem weak
I disagree so much. Like, it's the opposite of what I seen. I saw a Kang not at all his power and greedy. And I'm sure a reason certain things happened that we will see later down the road to add more context.

I feel one of the problems of the movie is Kang. Johnathan Majors did a good job, but *spoilers* he got defeated by Antman. The gran powerful bad guy that has killed many Avengers. Loses to one of the most normal human of the Avengers. And if you saw Loki. It is the second time we see this same character (other multiverse) die. So they have not showed that Kang is an actual big threat
RMB: Can I spoil;...
Everyone: NO!
This news saddens me. I know this movie has problems, but I think it’s more enjoyable than half of phase 4. Certainly better than Ant Man 2, Thor 2 and 4. I came out of that movie believing Marvel only needed to make small tweaks moving forward, but they’ll interpret this and over correct.
Marvel is now putting out substandard volume with little to no magic from its start. I don’t even care about these movies anymore
Black Panther 2 nominated for and winning multiple awards. You're right, but there were a couple of top-level ones bookending 2022 with The Batman & Black Pangher 2.
No one is worried about Antman 3 being a huge drop. It’s a bad second weekend but in the grand scheme it’s still an Antman movie he’s not a premiere MCU character. Relax
@@lloyd777 I enjoy all sci-go not just the MCU but this isn’t a big deal it’s Ant-man. It would be concerning if an avengers movie had this issue or any other big main character but a large drop of ant-man the “little guy” not worried at all.
It needs to make 600million to break even, and it probably won't. Its a bomb even if it does.
anything marvel puts out to the movie theaters is supposed to be a big deal a bunch of marvel characters don't get movies those are not premiere characters......
@@peterlenham3180 it’s going to reach 600 million and over globally. The movie will break even.
I thought the movie was ok but next time maybe don't try to build/hype up Antman of all movies into being an Avengers level event.
Quality has dropped, recent films haven’t had great buzz/word of mouth…and ultimately if you don’t see these films week 1, you can wait 8 weeks for Disney plus.
Yeah, it feels like a lot of people are just waiting for it to drop on Disney plus now.
Kang Dynasty/Secret wars used to be thought of as "the movies that could finally beat Avatar", now I don't think they'll even make Avengers 1 money.
Were people really thinking the next Avengers movie would beat Avatar?
If they keep this pace with The Marvels and the upcoming films, I think you may be right
Infinity War/Endgame had such an unstoppable build up, that’s something marvel will never be able to replicate.
🧢
@@jeebs621 Marvel could have replicated that success If Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars came out in 2030 and used the entire decade to build up to those films.
