@@TeezMcGee that's crazy cuz there are a ton of reactions on UA-cam to this performance. Hendrix estate are notorious blockers, and his top performances aren't even on UA-cam. Purple Haze Atlanta Pop Festival is one that wont get blocked. It's good but still not even top Jimi lol. Also Voodoo Child live at Woodstock 69 wont get blocked and its fire, although slightly edited versions. Foxy Lady 68 Miami Pop Festival is Jimi swaggin out. If you pause that a few times it probably wont get blocked. As you can see I'm a huge Hendrix fan ✌
He's still ahead of his time. It's like he was an alien from another planet from galaxy far more advanced than our own in 1967---when everyone was still singing Beatles and Monkees songs---and showed us a better way forward
Yeah, Jimi was a God. When I lived in Seattle I went to pay homage to his beautiful grave/memorial near there. Just amazes me that one person can create a thing that can positively affect millions. All hail musicians and other artists!
I’ve been waiting for you to watch this one. Jimi is a true icon.. without him, Stevie ray vaughn, prince, and many others wouldn’t be who they were. There’s a ton of great Hendrix music please keep reacting
There is so much to this show off stage with him is cool as hell! The reason he set his guitar on fire at the end of his set just...chill, just like Jimi.
Stevie Ray Vaughn may have played with his teeth but Jimi was doing that 25-30 before him, SRV was bad but Jimi is on another whole level Bro, he was a musical genius and the best guitarist to ever walk the planet, 💚🍀
If you liked this you should buy the DVD its got his whole set on it as well as some back history and behind the scenes insights that help illustrate how iconic his set was at that festival. #TeezMcGee
This is introduction to Hendrix . It's like Clapton said " Everything guitarist do , it's been already done by Hendrix . " Watch Hendrix live at Maui , Woodstock , Hendrix and a band of gypsy's live at the Fillmore and many others .
If you watch the Monterey Pop movie, it puts in context how far ahead Jimi was, not only in his playing, but also the sound of his guitar. My personal favorite from this set was his version of Dylan's 'Like a Rolling Stone'.
I’m gonna blow your mind Jimmy played a stratecaster upside down when he did he also reversed the strings on the guitar because he was a left-handed . And because left-handed guitars back then were scarce and expensive he learned how to beat the expense by playing a right handed guitar upside down with reversed strings
You are in for quite a journey my friend. Jimi was at the top of his game for only FOUR YEARS before he died in 1970. He has an incredible library of music that he has left us. His double-album "Electric Ladyland" is a masterpiece. A genius mind with the sounds he creates and the music he put together. In his short popular career he started with "The Jimi Hendrix Experience" with Mitch Mitchell on Drums, Noel Redding on Bass, he then moved on to the infamous Woodstock concert in 1969 as "Gypsy Sun & Rainbows" for a one time performance with Mitch Mitchell on Drums, Billy Cox on Bass (a 101st Airborne buddy), Larry Lee (backing Guitar), Juma Sultan percussion, Gerardo Velez percussion, then on to "Band of Gypsys" for the 1969-1970 New Years Eve concert at The Fillmore East in NY with Buddy Miles on Drums, and Billy Cox on Bass (an all African American band - Jimi was friends with the Black Panther Party). There is an excellent live recording of this performance. Jimi had an incredible impact not only on the music of that time, but specifically the guitarists of that time. NO ONE had ever seen anyone play the guitar like that coupled with Jimi's stage presence. Check out this interview with Chris Squire, Bassist for the band "Yes", where he talks about the first time he met Jimi Hendrix in London, where Jimi FIRST became a sensation, ua-cam.com/video/eo-lBnTc3So/v-deo.html, also an interview with Leslie West, guitarist and Lead vocals for the band "Mountain", ua-cam.com/video/_P0mK0mhqwU/v-deo.html. Enjoy the journey!
When I was in the Army before I was sent to Nam myself and another cat went AWOL and went to Monterrey to see the festival. Long story short we saw this live and the article 15 and loss of a months pay made it worth it.

Your first time watching Jimi ? For all the people at that festival it was also their first time. This was Jimi's debut in the US. He first went to England as he was having trouble breaking through here. He made it in England then debuted at tha Montery Pop Festival you just saw. At the last tune he played there he let out all the stops and left everybody wondering what theyd just seen .

He was THE best. Stevie Ray was 12/13 years old at that time. He's heavily influenced by Jimi, but there's no comparing Jimi to Stevie. You should watch this concert (The Festival at Monterey). On the last song of his set he humped the guitar against the speakers, set it on fire, the smashed it. The audience, which the camera pans over after Jimi's done, were open mouthed and looking totally blown away. I can't imagine what must have been going thru the minds of the many there who were tripping on LSD !!!
Love Jimi Hendrix, what a legend. Always loved guitars and another one of my favourite guitarist is Yngwie Malmsteen who grew up listing to Jimi and inspired by his style which you can see it in his playing including playing with his teeth . Would love to see your reaction on * Yngwie Malmsteen - Black Star ua-cam.com/video/QvMKsgVBzMo/v-deo.html
Nobody had ever played the guitar like this in 1967. Jimi was a trailblazer of the lead guitar. That's why his legend still lives. SRV was influenced by Jimi. They are both great...both legends. SRV had the advantage of hearing and seeing Jimi. So the question is would there have been a SRV had there not been a Jimi?
People talk... blah blah so and so is the greatest blahblah. Hendrix played better than all of them, while completely dosed on LSD. No One else ever has accomplished what Hendrix could do with a guitar. The Who had a stack of amps they called the wall of sound. Hendrix IS a wall of Sound. There are technical masters and great players, but Jimi was his guitar. He was the sound, he was the song. And beautiful beyond comprehension. A beautiful Elegant Complex Mellow DUDE Extraordinaire. His lyrics are so impossibly sweet and raw. A Jewel, of the first water.
YES JIMI! So glad you got this up. So many amazing hendrix songs that'll probably get blocked but the one you really gotta hear is machine gun: live new years 1970. The audio only you will probably get away with but here's the video from vimeo vimeo.com/248938810
Jimi, is so FUUUUUUCKING COOL! THE ULTIMATE SWAG😅! As a french white guy, guitarist, Jimi, is my master! The GOAT! No debat! Unmatchable with a guitar! Not coming from our galaxy!😅👍✌️Peace from France bro
This is definitely one of Jimi's top performances showman wise but guitar playing wise, this was no where near his best... Check out Machine Gun @ Fillmore East and in Berlin those are cream of the crop Jimi guitar playing. You're not gonna be able to react to them, more then likely but it's worth checking out on your own time. You think Jimi got the sauce, those performances are the meat and potatoes with the sauce. That's a fact! But try to react to his Red House in New York 1968... That is more cream of the crop Jimi playing. You might get blocked but it's worth a chance. That's another fact! Great reaction, bro.
My friend Hendrix is the GOAT! Stevie Ray Vaughn emulated him. You're watching the original! Hendrix voted the best guitarist of all time and he's been dead 50 years! Watch Hendrix play the Star Spangled Banner!
You have to alter the videos/ music or they will be blocked, ask any reactor on UA-cam and they’ll tell you, I can tell you’re not familiar with my channel because i rarely pause songs but this was one of those instances. I’ve had bad luck when posting Jimi so that’s why I altered the music so it could get through block, but why do you assume that my reaction was fake? I’ve never heard this song before this day, all my reactions are my first time hearing the song, I haven’t posted Jimi since because even when I alter the music it still gets blocked, the copyright police are real, you can’t just play certain artists songs without altering them on UA-cam, Bob Dylan is another one
Jimi was Stevie Ray's mentor and learned how to play guitar behind from Jimi. Jimi was the first. No one had played heavy metal guitar solos before Jimi.

Jimmy Hendrix is considered a guitar innovator in the 60’s. Listen to “All Along the Watchtower “, “Purple Haze” , “The Wind Cried , Mary”

Chews gum while he sings.
Plays guitar with his tongue.
Plays guitar behind his head.

Jimi Hendrix is not just a musician he's a magician he could pull a rabbit out of his guitar if he wanted to
If he wanted one, the guitar would deliver it out of respect.

Chill out with the whole Are you Experienced album. Oh, and Axis Bold as Love... Seriously good stuff.

Seems many first time viewers are shocked how powerful, present, individualist, assured Hendrix is way back in the 1960s.
