When I first took the exam I failed it at around 2 1/2 minutes. I underestimated it the step test. After that I bought myself two steppers a secure them with some tape and started to practice. My test is for border patrol and the standard is 14 inches. I put my stepper to 16 inches so when I took my test I had no issues whatsoever. I highly recommend that you practice once every other day. Make sure you get your timing right and your breathing as the facilities in New York require you to have a mask on. Train the way you are required to take the exam. I pass my exam fee ago now waiting on pft2 🤙🏽best of luck to you all.

thanks man, im about to take this test in the coming weeks and i was worried about the situps cause im on the fatter side, but im going to put in some work on these steps to be better prepared for them.
I'm training for it too right now let me tell you get a 14 or 16 inch step I was just using what I had at my house aka a normal step and it pushed me but I did it. I'm doing a 14 inch step now and I'm dying at the 3 minute mark
I'm very nervous! I can't perform any push-ups correctly! I have never exercised b4. I hope I can pass on the second try if there's one for me. I know if I fail other steps, I'll have to leave this opportunity. 😢

N B I’ll be honest 2 days isn’t a whole lot of time, however you want be required to perform many. At this point practice doing at least 20 correctly in rhythm.... hopefully rhythm and momentum will get u through .
@@ricoillgmailcom Actually i can say total of 1 week time I have had for the test to come in..and now its 2 days and My abdomen is not getting through for sit ups only...makes me worry...thanks very much for response! I m trying to be positive.
@@jenniferrondon9328 Well I am good in sit ups by now...not in the initial stage......I had to retest my fitness 1 but actually I could not pass my structured interview so had to let opportunity go.
@@BryanValladares-o2g the step test was really challenging. Unfortunately i was found unsuitable for the job even tho i passed the polygraph and drug test but I reapplied again
In reference to your most current video (since you turned off comments), you applied for CBP, then dropped out because they were moving too fast?! Imagine asking for a career and then turning them down when they try to give it to you.

@@cendejas013 Hey try it twice a day also try to stretch before and after. question is your test on the 12 inch or the 14 inch stepper?
@@willart4552 thank you I will definitely try that, it's on the 16 in stepper. I was able to get to 3.24 lastnight so that progress lol

No. It’s a 14” box that you step up onto and and then back down. Up down up down up down for 5 minutes.
