In band we are learning to play this and I'm having an amazing time learning this! I find myself always humming the main melody (1:33) and I love it XD (8th grade band btw)
In high school I played this and I hit the notes so well as I was the 3rd clarinet, we went on public school tours and played this song 4 times, correctly, how I wish it had been possted here for you guys to see.
I played Trombone and it was fun to play this song but we always sounded out of tune since they had 2 or 3 parts for the trombones to make us sound like that. I always thought we were out of tune sounding and almost 7 years later I still hear it x)
@HopkinsOrchestra hey thanks so much for putting this on here. im in 7th grade, and we are currently playing this piece. i play euphonium(baritone). i could not find another full recording, so thanks
I almost feel bad now...this'll be in our spring concert for the high/middle school mix band (super small school, our HS band has maybe six kids in it)

@ixie122 nice.X3 and we played; we don't fail on any song but this one; it seems one we had longest are hardest, but ones we picked up days ago, like thriller, are cake! XD slow band X3
I remember playing this as a 1st Violin in 8th Grade. I never personally liked the part with the heavy horns, It sounded like a bunch of saddened elephants ._.
Karleigh Cook My band is the best band in Alabama and my middle school won against a high school in a competition and we win every competition. My band is very competitive and intense.
What grade are you in? Are you the solo? I play the flute, but my teacher let me learn the flute notes to the solo so I could play it and help the band in sectionals.
@HopkinsOrchestra That was AO. Not FO. FO didn't do anything at Anaheim. FO was kind of disbanded after the winter concert because WE was going to the CMEA state conference. And it's not exactly called Anaheim it's something like Music in the Parks. And just because Hopkins has a great music program, doesn't mean that you should degrade other bands and orchestras. Sorry if you're not, but it kind of seems like you are. I don't want Hopkins to have be known for being a bunch of brats.
I play viola and we played this at our spring concert. I love this song so much
