Carol Shapiro

Carol (Siegel) Shapiro was born in Jaroslav, Poland on October 30, 1927. After 1939, the Siegels were expelled from Jaroslav and spent a year in Lvov before being deported to the Ural Mountains where they were interned in a gulag. Carol lost both of her parents during the Holocaust and spent time in an Uzbek orphanage.
