I think part of what made the Lich King so intimidating throughout Wrath was his voice. Hearing the old Naxx Arthas voices makes me real glad they gave him such a powerful voice in Wrath. He wouldnt have been anywhere near as scary.
So for those wondering, his voice is actually reverbed with a slight delay and reversing the audio. So what you hear when he speaks is him talking backwards at the same time, with some fade-in/out’s to make it sound more ghostly. source: am audio engineer.
I disagree, the voice they went with was extremely generic and sounded like Dr.Claw. The Classic version needed some improvement but i liked the idea of the voice being a fusion of Arthas and Ner'Zhul, similar to Dragonball Z fusions.

It's always so nice to hear you talk about this ancient era (which I didn't know about) and especially about the reactions and speculations of the community of that time. I find, personally, a shame that they did not take advantage of the quest around Naxxramas to bring back into play a way to go through the old raid (even by removing the rarest objects), just to see the bosses of the 'era.
Thats so true, original Naxx40 is such an amazing experience, far superior to the LK version... but the best way to experience it is with a level appropriate full 40 man raid, the best form of WoW raiding!
I do Naxx every week on a classic vanilla server and it's cool to hear new stuff I didn't know about. I don't think i've ever actually paid attention to the convo between KT and the Lich King after 4H go down, it's kinda funny now hearing a bit of panic in ol' KT's voice😂
I remember seeing an absolutely ancient super poor quality video someone took of them having logged out in old naxx before it was patched out, I watched it when I was just starting to get really into wow in high school (cataclysm) and I had no clue what was going on but I was so fascinated, and I started doing out of bounds stuff after. This topic was kind of a blast from the past. :)
Back in TBC I logged out in Naxxramas and when I logged back in during the Wrath prepatch I was still in the lvl 60 version of Naxxramas. I saw the NPC's in every wing! There were no portals to exit as shown in the video. As it was the old Naxxramas you were unable to leave the dungeon at all. There were windows showing EPL.
Interesting, do you remember when during the prepatch this happened? Most recounts ive seen had the opposite problem, with them being inside a raid full of 80s, and if they got killed, they would have no way of escaping the raid. Maybe the raid id did not change right away
@@TurbotarzanWoWit's b*******raid ID would not be relevant because even if you could manage to get the raide ID from 40 it still o believe is map id 533 (memory based may be wrong) mobs are already scaled

I might have something that can interest you. In Grizzly Hills there is a hole in the world that allows you to fly underneath the world and there is some weird stuff down there. I discovered this hole by accident all the way back in Wotlk and it still hasn't been fixed. It is best accessed by a druid in flightform due to areas underneath the world that will disconnect/dismount you randomly. At coords 71.14, in the ravine with the stone throwing giants, there is a pillar you can fly behind and there is a hole near the wall you can move down through and tadaa! You are now underneath the world. In my journeys underneath I encountered bright green "cheese slices" (they have holes like Swizz cheese) and lots of random items floating around. The only issue is the constant disconnects you encounter while exploring, and also trying to not fly to far or you end up out in the open world again.
I'm always excited everytime I see you post a new video. You are quickly becoming my favorite WoW channel. I love WoW trivia and you do an excellent job finding the mysterys and relics of the past. Do you have any plans to cover content in TBC or WOTLK? I'd love to see what you can dig up in those eras in addition to classic! Much love mate
Yeah i sure will, i have some shorter videos from a while back, that focus on events that took place in Wotlk mostly. Its something id like to get back to
I don't know if it still works, but in Shadowlands, at least, you could fly around the sea end of Strathholme and still see an untextured Naxxaramas in the sky, as well as the open world variant of the portals within Stratholme and some openable portcullis'.
From what I remember there was no such a thing as logging in inside old naxx and getting to Wrath zone. People that did got their chars bugged and took them a while to manage to play with said chars.

The fake EPL area has its whole north-eastern part replaced with a copy of a large part of north-eastern winterspring, which acts as the "Northrend" background for the last phase of kel'thuzad
Well yeah. It was the last raid of Vanilla. There were maybe like... 3 or 4 guilds worldwide that actually finished it before TBC originally dropped. It was grueling. It was meant to be grueling. And the demand for various types of resistance gear was just stupid. Especially frost, which no one had at end game. Hell, the only real endgame frost resist gear had to be crafted INSIDE Naxx itself, and the mat requirements were obscene. The only saving grace was, unlike BWL, you didn't need a specific piece of equipment to survive and you only had to have so much frost resist, so just a couple pieces of gear as opposed to an entire of set of resist. Otherwise, there would have been no way to power through Sapphiron.
Corrupted Ashbringer is still one of the coolest lore things in WOW. I actually liked how they handled it with Wrath, though. Feels too powerful and cool to give to players vs Tirion Fordring being able to purify it and wield it himself.
Oh boy wait until you find out they literally just handed it to EVERY paladin in Legion lmfao, what a letdown that was. Way to make a legendary weapon super lame
Funny thing is, Naxxramas didn't get re-tuned at all when it got moved to Northrend. All the NPCs had the exact same stats they had when the raid was "rated" for Level 60. Turns out the reason it was so hard was because it was tuned for Level 80 players years before Level 80 was a thing.
Exploring Northrend a month early in 2008 would be so sick
Getting into the Beta for wrath was and cata were some of the biggest highlights of my 18 year wow “career” lol. It was amazing.
