    Thanks for the video. When I went to the cable park it took me forever to figure out the turns. I kept trying to go through the buoys and kept wiping out. I finally cut inside of the first buoy and it helped. Nothing like waking a few miles around the “lake” because you can’t make the turns. Man was I tired that day!

    The easiest tip is to make sure that when the carrier reaches the corner that you are pointing the board in the direction of the cable that is after the corner

      This is exactly how I was coached to take corners. Especially helpful to remember when you graduate to a faster cable speed cos you’ll redirect your board at a commensurately early place (useful when you’ve got in a rhythm about when to start the turn).

    This is so helpful. I can go through the corners at the fast speed so much better now.

    From my experience: body follows the eyes. So I don't look at the carrier, because I don't know where I am, certainly don't look down as it often ends up in a faceslap. I look forward and trying to learn when the carrier changes direction. Just before that, switsh from heels to toes, look at the next buoys and start targeting them. That will definitely bring you back under the cable without you even noticing,

    Quick tip, don't hold on to the handle with 1 hand if it loses tension in the corner.. torn my bicep that way :(

    Also helps to get low until you gain confidence, lower gravity less chance of being pulled over
    Difficult for me as I can only go straight

    Would like to see how clock wise and counter clock wise makes a difference for regular and switch riders. I went for the first time yesterday and the corners ate my lunch. It was counter clock wise which to me seems more beneficial for goofy riders because they can go heel side the whole time.

    I took my first big face plant yesterday, first go on the faster speed! there's 1 tight corner I'm struggling with but I'm left foot forward and the cable runs anti clockwise so its tricky for me turning on my heels! big whiplash typing this though LOL

    My dear man! You say in Your instructions to start edging out at about ten feet from the corner.
    The rider in the accompanying video(drone shot) starts edging out at least 45 or 50 feet from the corner!
    Confusing !!

    • @PetesGarageandperformance
      @PetesGarageandperformance 4 роки тому +1

      Tristan Morrison I think cable is harder but I’m not too good. The boat just goes straight and you have fins on the bottom of the board for stability. Those turns are brutal at the cable park! People make it look easy.
