Because the weather of Germany is very different from India so the clothes made in India are made according to the weather of india for eg mumbai clothes might not work in manali and vice versa so the clothes made in india might not work in germany's weather and the clothes in Germany are made according to their weather so it will be sensible to buy from there otherwise the luggage will be overweight and about the food you cannot always eat out and you cannot start cooking immediately there are many important work to do so it is sensible to atleast take 1-2 months of food and and if you choose to cook immediately you would not find good and cheap grocery store within 1 or 2 days it would take atleast 1-2 weeks to find and get used to a new place and he is Gujarati he probably might be vegetarian so it is difficult to find vegetarian place in a foreign country and last point he is Gujarati they take food more than clothes everywhere they go
