Using more than three stitches after making a slip stitch as you go around the flower might help. Making double crochet stitches in the magic ring in the beginning can help make more room for the middle of the flower. Hopefully this helped :)
@Melunace It's ok. I could only do the chain stitch at first too. It might help to start learning the single crochet stitch first and work your way through the half double crochet stitch and the double crochet stitch. I found that it was helpful to just make a long chain and practice over and over again. Following tutorials will get a lot easier as you go too.
The bulkier the yarn (as well as the hook size) the bigger the outcome.

How much yarn did you use for the flower?
This pattern is so easy BUT mine looks weird. I am using a 4.5 hook and all of my stitches are so tightly pulled I can't seem to get them pulled up straight as high as yours. Then when I go to pull through all 10 I struggle and sometimes have to pull them all out and try again. I am so frustrated. This has happened to all puff stitches I do. Can you suggest anything to me? I have many who want a daisy keyring. Thanks.

They are really big actually. You can just change your hook and yarn size. ♥
