Dr. Reeves, your videos are going to be so helpful to so many. We have had such a horific killing spree take place in our quiet, beautiful Province of Nova Scotia. 23 dead and many are know to me or my friends. My symptoms have just gone through the roof. I will absorb new information better, in a few days. Thank-you, Dr. Reeves
Can these spasms be caused by trauma? I had a bad fall down a flight of stairs and had a large hematoma on my face. I was initially worried I had broken my cheek bone, so I had an X-ray done. Nothing was broken. A few weeks as the swelling went down I developed a twitch on the injured cheek. It only happens when I blink. Im addition to this twitch, I have a new “artificial dimple” in the injured cheek. It appears to be a dimple but is actually a small mass in the inside of my cheek. Could this mass be the cause of my spasms? Thanks for you time and helpful video.
Nice video. I do quite a bit of botox for hemifacial spasm. I have had a few patients with good success with microvascular decompression if they have a vascular loop.
Yes, I do Botox too, though the "See you every three months" part does get a bit old for some folks. I ran out of time to discuss meds, too. Ah, the limitations of 60 seceonds!!
So is this curable ? I’ve just developed this along with facial jerks/tic-like symptoms idk what this could be I keep getting told maybe FND maybe dystonia maybe myoclonus maybe TD idk what it is anymore can you help?
Im just bored, and wanted to search this. My medic is aware, and no need for meds or scans. 😊 Just want to say thank you for this video. Its a nice, quick explanation without trying to sound scholarly. It is the coolest weird feeling ever. I get them between my eyebrows, chen, lip(s) eye lids, head, and super rarely my ears. lol The most awkward spasms I have ever had, took place in both of my man parts. 😂 I have Pugalistica Dementia, so its just easiest to blame that, than to go through the expensive medical testings over a twitch. To all of you, dont let facial flutters get to you. Stop and observe them when they happen, even in public, they are kinda mystifying! When you around friends, and it happens, just say, Yooo Check This Out, and they will think its kinda cool too, amd the embarrassment, and future embarrassments just melt away. 😊 For the more sever, thats totally understandable, and hope medics can help you! 😊
I know this is an older video but …. I just had a mri done of the brain …. During part of the scan my left side of my face started to twitch ( more than I have ever gotten within the last year . ) so … is that normal ?
@@JullianLue I know for me , mine are always there . ( the twitching ) but I have spasms all over and it might be neurological to an extent . - found out that I have twisting in the artery the goes behind the right ear ( so another scan needs to be done ) but also found out that I have occipital neuralgia ( only took 20 years to diagnose that ! ) looking into treatment options but … Talk to your doctor and see about a referral to neurology . Also look into physio to help with all the smaller support muscles .

Such a senseless loss of life caused by a mentally ill person.... :-(
So much enlightenment in such a brief time. Thank You.
Nailed it same thing I was told at my visit and they even found where my brain was touching my skull.

@@erickalvarado7676 hemifacial spasm is usually very distinctive and can easily be distinguished from other disorders.
@@erickalvarado7676from what I’ve heard the only permanent fix is surgery
