History. This traditional song is originally a dance piece performed at the Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts in Dharamsala, India in the '60s and '70s. The melody of the song is Toeshey Dromo Rinchen Gang-you can hear the original piece at www.soundcloud.com/techung. The lyric is most probably written by His Holiness's tutor late Kyabje Trijang Rinpoche or Kyabje Dudjom Rinpoche. During the 60's when the Tibetan community were settling in India, lot of new dances and music were created to entertain and inspire our exile community. This is one of the song and I recorded this for His Holiness' 85 Birthday because the melody and the lyrics suits beautifully.
