FAQ:
- The tutorial Genichiro fight is not counted as a boss, as it makes no difference whether you beat him or not (except for a minor cutscene change). You beat Genichiro in a near identical fight at Ashina Castle anyways. Agree with it or not, those are the official leaderboard category rules.
- I "skip" some bosses, like the General after Chained Ogre, because I come back later and kill them with more attack power because it's faster to do so.
- The Shura final boss isn't included, as it would require an entire second playthrough to get to. Think of this as "All Bosses in a single New Game".
- Timing is In Game Time (IGT), the timer on screen is set to automatically pause during load screens and on the main menu. The game does not properly store ms for IGT, so when I load back in from quitouts the timer rolls back a bit.
- The tutorial popups and main menu splash logos have been automatically removed by the timer program as a simple convenience. There is no way to disable these in game.
You can disable tutorial popups and main menu splash with a simple mod from nexus. All you have do to is drop a file into your directory and you'll never see a tutorial again. I don't know if it's allowed for a speedrun though. Great run!
@@SCDJMU That mod is not allowed for speedruns, because it removes the popups in a different way from the mod that's directly integrated into the timer. For consistency's sake, we do not allow any external mods that aren't directly built into Livesplit. But yea, it's a good mod that everyone should use casually after their first playthrough.

For the question asked around 9:30 I believe he has to take the time to bond with the person ( as in he has to do something not being emotionally close ) that's why he goes back in after Sekiro was stabbed in the back, and the cut scene with him saying something like " I give you my power"
Is monkey skip time loss versus just ringing the bell? Is monkey skip even relevant anymore or is this specific route the reason it is not used? I want to get back into sekiro and try for runs so... Thanks

Hey aggy great run also quick question could there be a theoretical way to skip the mist nobel ( I don’t mean skip to the mist Nobel I mean skip it entirely) or is it unskippable like snake eyes 1
he's likely unskippable; there's a giant physical wall blocking progression until he's dead. even if he was, the fight takes 8 seconds and gets us an extra yash sugar, so it's probably not worth it.
This is the first time I see a world record with the player being bullied by a frog.

im not familiar with the timer but i'm assuming that the seconds/minutes subtracted (or added) next to the boss list is subtracting from an average time those are normally completed at? sorry im new to watching speedruns and im not familiar with how the timer works
The red/green numbers are comparing against my current (at the time) personal best time. So in my PB before this run, I finished X split at Y time, but in this new world record run, I finished X split at (Y +/- the time in red/green)

Just wondering how do you kill the bosses so fast with immortal slash? Like when I play the owl 2 fight i dont do that much yellow health dmg to the boss with immortal
yash sugar for 25% damage buff + if you use mortal draw midair it does more damage for some reason

I was wondering if you're up for a "no lock on" challenge where you cannot lock on to any enemy. Skips/glitches absolutely allowed. Not sure if it'll be an interesting enough challenge for you?

You are incredible, you beat the game in 1 hour+ and I stilll can't beat the guardian ape, do you play it in ps4 or in pc? I noticed you do a small jump before the mortal blade attack does it make the attack more powerful?
Just keep trying! You can beat him if you have a spear and few fire crackers

No jumping before mortal blade messes with the ai making them do a possibly more easy to interrupt attack/move and it basically can allow free hits
New to the speedruns, can anyone tell me why he jumps before using the mortal blade? Does it cut off some of the animation or does it fuck with the enemies? :D
I know this is a couple months old but doing a jump mortal draw just makes it do more posture and vitality damage. Not really sure why, but it works nonetheless.
Hey can u give me any cheese methods to kill the blazing bull... I have seen the entire youtube but nothing works... My deflect on the bull breaks almost 5 percent of it's posture and it recovers quickly
Dont deflect him the burn still damages you. Just run in circles with him and each time he turns around hit him once or twice in the back, he'll be dead in few minutes
How many runs did you do before this run on that day? Because you look you are about to fall asleep :D

Out of curiosity: what is the advantage gained from jumping before doing the mortal blade combat art?
There's a bug that makes jumping mortal blade do the damage of empowered mortal draw, it's like twice as much damage.

What patch version are you running this on? Is it lower than 1.03?

@@LilAggy it seems that from 1.03 onwards, they removed the ability to instant stealth kill on the first and second section of the true corrupted monk fight, so I thought it was weird that you were able to do that in your run.
@@jasonchionh3794 they tried to patch phase 1 deathblow but it is still possible with a precise setup and attack timing. They never patched the second phase deathblow, it's an intended mechanic

Yup! For whatever reason it does much more damage that way than using it on the ground.
@@LilAggy Thanks. I think speed runners make the programmers better by abusing the glitches in their games and I think the programmers try to do better next time.
Anyone know why divine confetti has an effect on Owl/Genichiro etc?
It gives extra damage to all enemy types.
Divine confetti normally gives you an attack boost..
For the apparition type enemies ( headless and shichimen warrior) , it deals damage even more...
It's Ako buff on crack essentially. Deals extra damage to all enemies but deals extra damage to apparition type enemies. Wouldn't recommend it against O'Rin though, she phases in and out too much to go for vit over posture.
