This video was amazingly helpful. Did it on my second try in less than 18 minutes. Getting a lot of Flex+ / Whirldwind + turns was key. Mutagenic strength event was very helpful. Best advice was to forget about blocking. I've been plowing through multiple achievements in just a couple of days: got speed run and minimalist with Ironclad, got single boss turn kill with Silent's Tactician/Acro/Prepared infinite, Defect's common sense with 2 claws/Hologram/Rebound, and Watcher's no relics because watcher cards are so powerful relics are not needed. Your videos and explanations are truly the best in the business.
I accidentally got speed climber while sleep deprived after work one day. Apparently I did it as the ironclad using Fiend Fire and evolve, basically just drawing a max hand and deleting enemies
Got it in 12:19! Took like 4x Perfected Strikes + Heavy Blade, in addition to the STR cards. My advice is that you can "save scum" this achievement. So for long/boss combats, you can take your time by "practicing" the combat first (writing down the optimal card plays in order), then quit to menu and replay the combat. This also works with shops... you can take your time viewing the choices, then quit to menu, and buy everything ASAP when you reload.
2 hours before watching this video, I said to my friends that the only achievment i was missing was Speed Climber, and that i didnt think i would ever get it. My previous best speed was 47m 49s. Watched this video, and within an hour I had a 14m 32s win. You, sir, are my hero.
Just completed this first try after watching this video, 13:49, and even messed up my pathing and ended up fighting nemesis. Brilliant guide, thank you 😄
I just came back to this game and i was clueless after a long time without playing it, so I decided to go find some videos to catch up and eventually found your channel. I wanted to let you know that I find your videos both very didactic and relaxing, very useful and chill to watch. Thanks for your content and keep up the good work.
I think a few tricks worth mentioning (in case people don't know) is using your keyboard to control part of your game. You can use Esc to exit any menu, M to view the map, and number keys to select and play cards in your hand (you can turn on "Show Card Quick Select Keys" in settings to make the cards indicate their number). My fastest run was an accidental 19m31s, swapping into snecko eye and picking up 4 wheel kicks when climbing as watcher.
Used this guide and got a 19:14 first try! :D didn't get a limit break and honestly made some bad decisions trying to go quick which got me really close to dying at some point. Also sentries fight act 1 is pain
This was so helpful, thanks!! First try was 21:11, second try I pulled a Fiend Fire which along with the Runic Pyramid it pretty much became my hero and I managed to finish in 16:29!
Have to say I'm dead pleased with myself. This vid helped a lot and reading other comments as well. Did it with a perfected stroke + wound + fire breathing deck in 16:12. I have to say I think that's pretty good for a nearly blind guy.
I thought of the same strategy when attempting this blind on the Ironclad since I only needed 4 achievements to get all of them, I kept failing by one minute over and then searched this up. I kept taking more skills (block) when I should have been worried about hitting, plus your advice of giving yourself 5 seconds was what I needed since I kept trying to make split-second decisions. Tried an attempt afterward and did it first try in 15:07! Much love mate
Yes this guide helped me get the achievement. I tried once as the silent with a shiv deck but with so many shivs it took FOREVER to kill. Tried a few times with the ironclad before looking up your guide and then I got it on my first real attempt (third, but had two false starts). Finished the game in 9:48!!!! crazy how fast you can go if you only have strength cards and a whirlwind
Great run, I was starting to see this combo when i was trying to play the game with only 3 cards, but you took it to the Max Sir. My current best run is 3 hours lol.
16:34 with Ironclad. Decided to do it before watching this video to challenge myself. Transform 2 lose all gold for starting bonus granted me clash and reaper. Got an early whirlwind with a bottled flame. Astrolabe and Philo Stone for boss relics.
I'm used to really taking my time with this game so I thought it would be an impossible achievement for me. But after watching this video I managed to get a winning 32 minute run which makes me confident I'll get the achievement eventually. Good tips.
My previous best time was 35 minutes, but I tried again today and got the achievement with 17:15 on my second Ironclad attempt (Perfected strike build)
I just got it in 16:16 on my first try. Necronomicom with Bludgeon+ and 2x Immolate+ was extremely good and fast :) plus 2 extra energy and 1 extra on turn 1 for good measure! Great guide, thanks!
I've got over 1200 hours in the game and never thought I'd be able to do this challenge. Just watched this video and did on my first attempt with a 14:12.... Insane how well just rapidly spamming vulnerable, area attack, and strength just completely negates the need for and thought and defense. I appreciate the advice.
My first attempt was with Ironclad and unfortunately got a 21:01, even with the special event that took me right to the Time Eater. BUT! I also gained You Are Nothing, Jaxxed, and The Transient achievements this run. XD So, a successful run in my book! Thanks for the tips. I'll try again later after I celebrate this win. :3 I usually spend an hour+ easily on a run, so this was a good start.
Finally got around to trying my hand at this. My first successful run was 13:37, but it took me a good few attempts. About 7 or so? The trouble for me was finding the balance about how long to think. Most of the time I didn't think enough and got myself killed, one time I thought too slowly and didn't get there in time.
Thanks so much for this video! I really hate doing speedrun achievements cause they really stress me out, but I managed to get it with Ironclad within an hour of attempting it. Took me about 16:30 to get to the final boss, didn't catch the final time but I'd say I had a good 2 minutes to spare. EDIT: My build was pretty much Perfected Strike + Clash + Inflame/Flex + Limit Break. I removed all Blocks from the deck, then picked and bought any Strikes and Strength raising cards. Also took some Thunderclaps, Cleaves and a Whirlwind, this one was an especially huge timesaver, insta killed a few encounters in Act 3. If you just focus on getting Strike cards, Strength boosts and AoE, you will barely do any thinking.
Thanks a lot man! Got a 17:51 on the first try with your same strategy, even though i got starved for strength gain cards and strength gain relics (ended solely with a flex mid-act 1 upgraded into flex+ end of act 1, inflame middle of act 2, flex middle of act 3 is all I saw). Other than that, had good RNG on the final floor with a path with no elites and a lot of rest sites. Got some better area and high damage cards than you though. Ended up beating the awakened one by exactly 3 damage on my final energy, with 8hp remaining, after already being helped by a fairy in a bottle... To me my run solidified the idea that this strategy is relatively easy to keep under 20:00, and surprisingly reliable at winning with mediocre RNG.
Got achievement with a 16:23 run after 8+ attempts. After a bunch of close calls, with 20:25, 21:20, and so on, I realized I was taking too long to make decisions. I figured out which cards I wanted, and how many of each, so I had only easy decisions to make during the run. Merchant #1 priority is card removal, all defends first, and then start on strikes. Don't look at potions unless you're totally empty. Buying relics is lower priority than card removal, so don't even look unless you either removed a card already, or you already cleared out the defends(but even then, you'd probably rather cut a strike).
Got a 17m run with +11 Searing Blow vs Time Eater. Yum :) Did try a dozen runs with strength and multi attacks (especially whirlwind) but it never seemed to come together for me. Searing Blow was a nice "get card, win fast" for me.
15.28, limit break and 3x spot weaknesses plus a lucky strike dummy pickup made the run really smooth, just removed all the defends and went ham. Thanks for the guide!
Man u was really helpful! i tried couple of times myself and ended up busted xD After thi video i got it at my 1st try! below 16 minutes! Amazing, thanks!
Hey, hands down: this is the most difficult achievement to get in my opinion. You need to be very lucky and decide very fast on what you do. I was able to finish it within 18:17 with a relatively funny build: A lot lot lot of Perfected Strikes and Necronomicon :D. The most important cards where: 7x Perfected Strike+. 5x Strike, 1x Wild Strike, 3x Pommel Strike+, 1x Twin Strike. As you can see: all my Perfected Strikes did 6 + 3x17= 57 Damage and thanks to the Necronomicon Curse the first 2-Cost attack (and Perfected Strike is such an attack), gets played twice. That means I could deal 114 Damage to the first Enemy I encountered, which means I saved a lot of time during Battles. If you see an early Perfected Strike in your run, add it to your Deck, and then add every Card which has the name "Strike" in it.
I was going through a mid Ascension run a few weeks ago and as I barely survived the Act II boss, I asked myself, where is my scaling damage? Then I entered a shop and saw brimstone. There it is! Sure the enemies scale too, but you scale faster!
@@nathanharris8896 Yep, you're right. I just checked my run history, and the run I was thinking of was on A15 and I did indeed reach the heart and die to it. It killed me on turn 6 which I guess is no surprise. I had two Disarm+ but it wasn't enough. Still, at the time I just wanted to clear A15 and move on, so it did get me through the A3 boss at least (Time Eater).
After a few tries I got a 15:04 clear with Ironclad. Offering, Flex x2, Heavy Blade, Inflame, Pommel Strike, Battle Trance; all upgraded, and removed all Defends. Simple and effective!
got mine in 17:36 with mutagenic strength, 1 flex, 2 whirlwind+, 2 bloodletting, 3 offering+, and a chemical x. whirlwinds were the only damage cards besides the starters. strolled into awakened one with 75hp and won with 3hp left XD
I just got this completely by accident. I used Ironclad and got the transform 2 cards perk at the start of my run, which gave me a Searing Blow. I planned my route along fireplaces and did nothing but upgrade the Searing Blow. Ended up at a +12 or something. All my other decisions were based on card removal, while only accepting cards which offered card draw. A tiny deck, coupled with a Berserk which increased my energy and a Flash of Steel, I was able to one shot just about anything. Donu and Deca took 2 turns and suddenly the achievement popped up. I had no way to deal with the Heart's status card and not enough block, so that's where the run ended...
So my first attempt after watching this I got 18:02. Although, I did cheese the last boss by resetting over and over again until I found the winning line against the time eater. But at least I got the achievement.
Thx! i beat in the first time after that see that video with de relic breemstone (sorry im spanish) +2 power every turn and enemies 1 more. in over 17 minutes, too i kill the transitory xD. and am the ethernal now!
Finally got my speedrun while watching this video, 14:23. Unfortunately, despite it being my last achievement, I didn't get the completionist achievement, probably because I didn't get all my achievements on this single file. Uuuuuugh. At least the only two I'm missing are the transient kill and the daily climb, which shouldn't be TOO bad -knocks on wood-
Got a 13:30 that hit time eater with 39 whirlwind hits on turn 1 (13 energy + necronomicon + dupe pot). Amazing full run wasn't recorded, but have the photos of the end screen
My fastest time is 43 minutes! So I have the under 45 achievement but I still need to up my game to get this one. I try to do one attempt a day, but it usually turns into a leisurely stroll like all my runs 😂
My son’s friend apparently beat the game in 17 minutes on my switch so she got this achievement for me. Reading is difficult for her, so she just button mashed her way through and got super lucky!
I was trying this blindly with Iron Chad for the trophy and got whirldwind 1st seeing red next and chem X on the shop and bottled flame and lightning on the second shop all in first act gg from there
My fastest run so far has been about 1:32. Lol. Now that I know about the settings to speed up the animations, I think I will start doing a little better.
Not the fastest, but the earliest infinite combo I ever got was with Ironclad. Started with removing 2 cards, 2 shops to remove 2 more defends, offering upgraded at campfire, pommel strike upgraded by campfire, sundial, and double tap. was infinite on floor 9. Ended up removing all my strikes and defends later in the run, and got a few seeing reds, and another pommel strike to ensure it as turn one every combat.
this is the thing with any "Draw 1" card, its just drawing itself out basically if you were to draw flex and pummel strike.used pummel and drew limit break, you just wasted 1 energy,as youd have drawn the limit break from the beggining if it werent for the limit break.so many people dont get this somehow
My fastest the other day was 27:55... so I need to do better to get the achievement... I was also trying for minimalist at the time, so didn't have the ability to push through the battles quite as quickly.
I managed to get a 14 minute run but it required extensive save and exiting to restart each encounter to get a better time or avoid curses. I love Slay the spire but I'm not going to make it a full-time job. save and exit is the perfect difficulty nerf for a dedicated casual player, It also helps me undo quickly if I messed up the math.
Did this guide help you get Speed Climber? We'd love to hear from you in the comments.
Who’s ‘we’? You and the big cosy chair?
I’ll be attempting this challenge this week. This vid was good preparation, thanks. :)
This video was amazingly helpful. Did it on my second try in less than 18 minutes. Getting a lot of Flex+ / Whirldwind + turns was key. Mutagenic strength event was very helpful. On my 1st attempt after watch this video i got it with 19:41, the only achievment remaining. o/
Just got it first try in 17:52 after watching, good video!
Wow, you made this game your b****.
I accidentally got speed climber while sleep deprived after work one day. Apparently I did it as the ironclad using Fiend Fire and evolve, basically just drawing a max hand and deleting enemies
Finished without a single second to spare. 19:59.
Sick iron chad run
I finished a run a couple weeks ago that was 20:04.
I got mine like a week ago, got it with 10 seconds to spare somehow and I didn't even notice the clock until defeating Deca and Donu
Got it in 12:19! Took like 4x Perfected Strikes + Heavy Blade, in addition to the STR cards. My advice is that you can "save scum" this achievement. This also works with shops... you can take your time viewing the choices, then quit to menu, and buy everything ASAP when you reload.
Holy crap that’s so smart haha
Watched the video yesterday and tried my hand at the achievement, 16:15 on my second try, and had a blast doing it!

After watching you stream a speed run some time ago, I got my achievement at like 17:30, felt easy learning from the best!
My fastest is like 2 hrs 😂 I will occasionally play it on PS4 while cleaning the house. Had a casual 11hr run lol
Thank you for showing the cards at the end. Such a thoughtful and well made video. Thank you very much dude!
I thought of the same strategy when attempting this blind on the Ironclad since I only needed 4 achievements to get all of them, I kept failing by one minute over and then searched this up. Saw this video and three runs later, I was able to get this achievement at 19:00. Thank you so much for this!
did mine with ironclad in 17 : 44, thanks for the tips Baarlor ^^
I've got over 1200 hours in the game and never thought I'd be able to do this challenge. Just watched this video and did on my first attempt with a 14:12.... Amazing run! This is next on my trophy list for Slay the Spire. Thanks for the tips😊
i just got it on my second try after watching this at 12:53! got really lucky with an early act 2 shop that offered brimstone
Thanks Baalorlord! Another video that was extremely easy to follow. It took me a few tries to get it, but I finally got a run at 14:12!
I got it in 17:06 on my second try after watching this video. Thanks!

just got the one relic achievement with the help of your other video, this is my last achievement I need so wish me luck!!
wow i beat the 20 min challenge first attempt cause of ur video 14:37
Watched this video, 20 minutes later have the achievement. :) Thanks!
14:04 with the ironchad, third try. Thanks king
Watched your vid. Sublime as always. Got a 20:00 run first try. Didn’t get achievement 😭 but definitely feels possible now
Got a 17m run with +11 Searing Blow vs Time Eater. Yum :)
Did try a dozen runs with strength and multi attacks (especially whirlwind) but it never seemed to come together for me. Searing Blow was a nice "get card, win fast" for me.
16:23 first try! I got so goddamn lucky but a lot of it was the tips-- thank you so much!
Got it in 18 min after watching this video. Very helpful, thanks for the tips!
15.28, limit break and 3x spot weaknesses plus a lucky strike dummy pickup made the run really smooth, just removed all the defends and went ham. Thanks for the guide!
now i wanna try this too! got common sense and minimalist right after watching those vids of yours
This was really helpful, got 17 mins within a few hours. Had about 4 goes over 20 plus restarts/deaths.
Really thanks!!! I got the achievement with 14:23 in the first trial
damn. insane damage run! :D hopefully I try again and beat this challenge eventually.
Man u was really helpful! i tried couple of times myself and ended up busted xD After thi video i got it at my 1st try! below 16 minutes! Amazing, thanks!
Hey,
hands down: this is the most difficult achievement to get in my opinion. You need to be very lucky and decide very fast on what you do.
I was able to finish it within 18:17 with a relatively funny build: A lot lot lot of Perfected Strikes and Necronomicon :D. The most important cards where:
7x Perfected Strike+.
I got this on my second try on Ironclad with brimstone. I don't usually pick it, but it sure is nice for a quick low ascension run.
I was going through a mid Ascension run a few weeks ago and as I barely survived the Act II boss, I asked myself, where is my scaling damage? Then I entered a shop and saw brimstone. There it is! Sure the enemies scale too, but you scale faster!
@@davidtrammell9624 My experience is that it works at least decently until you reach the heart. Then, it's probably worse than nothing.
@@nathanharris8896 Yep, you're right. I just checked my run history, and the run I was thinking of was on A15 and I did indeed reach the heart and die to it. That is better than any deck I have ever built and this man did it in 15 minutes
I got some very nice tips from this video. got the achievement same day :D ty!
I got it on my second try with silent before watching this video in just 19:59. I wonder if 20:00 would still have counted...
For excactly 45:00 You do get the speedster point bonus so yeah, probably would have still counted.
got mine in 17:36 with mutagenic strength, 1 flex, 2 whirlwind+, 2 bloodletting, 3 offering+, and a chemical x. whirlwinds were the only damage cards besides the starters. strolled into awakened one with 75hp and won with 3hp left XD
Holy Spire! Thats' a dang strong build, that would probably work against the heart too
I can't even reach the heart as Ironclad, Silent just fits with my playstyle better. This is amazing.
I got this achievement and Jaxxed in the same run! thank you!!
That run felt as if IronChad simply decided to lock in and win
Got this achievement accidentally with a ragnarok akabeko necronomicon watcher run, was great fun one-shotting all my enemies

I had no way to deal with the Heart's status card and not enough block, so that's where the run ended...
thank you, i need some try but i finish to do a 16:59, I do this with 5 fire breathing and some power through :)
14:01 ! Thanks Baalorlord!
Thanks for this video! Very well done!
It did. Managed to eke it out on Silent at 19:56.

nice run! Im curious, does the timer stop at all during the run, for instance while browsing room rewards or in the pause menu?
I got into the final boss battle with 19:07 on the clock and finished it with 11 seconds to spare. So it took 42 seconds to kill Donu and Deca.
I hate you so much when you make it look oh so easy! ;-)
Great video, lots of things to consider even when playing slow....
this is the thing with any "Draw 1" card, its just drawing itself out
basically if you were to draw flex and pummel strike.used pummel and drew limit break, you just wasted 1 energy,as youd have drawn the limit break from the beggining if it werent for the limit break.so many people dont get this somehow
My fastest the other day was 27:55... so I need to do better to get the achievement... I was also trying for minimalist at the time, so didn't have the ability to push through the battles quite as quickly.
I'd like to see a Killing the Transient guide.
That's impressive!
thanks for the vid, my record now is 16:40 :D
I managed to get a 14 minute run but it required extensive save and exiting to restart each encounter to get a better time or avoid curses. I love Slay the spire but I'm not going to make it a full-time job. save and exit is the perfect difficulty nerf for a dedicated casual player, It also helps me undo quickly if I messed up the math.
I got 20:49 with a normal A12 run (wasn't trying to get the achievment), I was so mad at the end.
"how to get speed runner easy"
"just start every run with double limit break"
😂
That's all very interesting but WHAT IS YOUR CHAIR!? Some magnificant couch chair, where did you get it?
It's a hand-me-down, and the name of the model has been lost to time. It was a mainstay of the channel for a while! -Faely
My first attempt I got juggernaut from Neow so I went a full blockchad run and ended with 20:53 so I had to keep trying and it made me very sad
Got a 7:23 run. Was super fun
Thats absolutely nuts! HOW?
Last night attempted this. Finished in 20:00... heartbreaking lol
Watching this video at double speed for a double effect
Got this together with the trophy to only use grey cards yesterday 😂
didnt know the temporary flex strength became permanent when multiplied by another card
I got it first try lol nice
Way too many attempts but Iron clad 19:24 luckily killed Time eater on turn 2, didn't like my odds going into him past the 19 minute mark
