My first year in business as an LGS - we did $360k, I remember that a 60 day delay on turning product that normally turned in 3 days, had almost sunk the business. Bills would become due and new product launches were popping off. Cash flow delays are brutal when you are just getting into things.
Its like saying someone's gatekeeper being a professional body builder. The information is out there but the majority arent going to put in the effort.
Dude! I love your videos! You’re honest about how much work it is to start and own your own businesses. Love to see what you having coming up in the future.
Hey Brian! Been a minute since we last did business! This video is too real. I started my business right before COVID. I was in graduate school and hated how much my stipend paid. I took a HUGE risk in selling a bunch of stocks and taking on debt to start doing Pokemon on the side. Fast forward into COVID and the hobby was booming, I pivoted to my passion being Weiss Schwarz and I haven’t looked back since. There was immense risk in what I did and how I did it. Sleepless night wondering when my JP products would clear customs after being stuck for days, trying to move products ASAP before the next deadline and managing livestreams and a whole discord community. It was far more stressful than getting my PHD, but in the end it was worth it and I haven’t looked what I have now because of it. I think I was incredibly lucky and also found my niche because I was the first channel on twitch to break non-big 3 JP products and Weiss Schwarz at the volume that I was doing. Now I still do it “part time” but even then it’s a really a full time job.
You share all this because it takes a lot of work and knowledge. These people have no clue how much you work, knowledge and stress it is to run a TCG business. 😅 Gate keeping is only being able to get Pokemon from only 4 different supplies and they get to pick and choose who and how to distribute it all…
This should be the first video any one who wants to start a Pokemon business must watch. This touches a lot of areas I found out the hard way. Thank you sharing your experience, I am also going thru these challenges and this does give me some mental peace.
Brian, the content is great, to the point, & honest. Unfortunately there will people who always call names because they can't commit or are offended by hard work paying off for those who do commit. Great stuff. Keep it up
Hey I'm disabled, TLDR, 2 begnin brain tumors 3 strokes, im never gonna start a Pokémon business at best ill buy some Japanese booster boxes and sell them at the local flea market. But I watch for fun hands down and it's been a good time. Here's to 2025
These points go beyond just Pokémon card business. Many business owners face these problem there's a immense amount of risk and sacrifice, but that's what separate's people who have made it and who have not. You literally can't get anything in life without sacrifice, I think 99% of people would take the stress of owning a business that catered to something they love to do. If you have a dream go for it!
The way we move money in 2025 feels more like 1925. So wild how expensive/slow/miserable so much of it is. Have had so many issues with Chase, WIse, Paypal, etc holding money, being slow with money all kinds of things. Mostly have it all figured out now, but still have issues from time to time.
Nexus has two triggers. One is not only the amount of sales made to a certain state, the second trigger is the number of transactions made. In our case, we rarely hit the sales Nexus, but very quickly hit the transaction number Nexus. We use Tax Jar and is a very good company. Crazy stuff! Keep up the good work.
I’m glad you said it because my first thought was that less than 1% of people that watch this might actually compete with you. Providing insight and information to people through these videos is far more rewarding to you and your business
Hoping to get into sealed soon, ive been running TCGplayer for like 2.5 weeks selling singles and ive sold almost 1k (now not all that's profit lol but still) hoping to try and get a table at my next local show, just bought a few booster boxes to try and break to sell at those with my singles. Thanks for the help, inspiration, and info!
I think it is hard for people to see someone happy and doing what they love and being genuine and generous with info. Love your content no BS. Haters gonna hate 😅
Definitely a lot of risk, currently have my store for the past 3 months. I wired someone around 2k worth of stuff which for me is a lot of money when starting out. Previous transactions went smoothly so I was like this will be just fine. Nope got scammed, he dipped...
Brian.. you’re killing it. I’ve been following for a bit and got directly on making my dream come true. I know that dream is dependent on ME and not the person who inspired me. These haters are tools and just that, HATERS. When you get bigger there’s always an influx of naysayers. Thank you for this video. Hopefully those fools make it more than 3 mins before they start their bullshit in the comments. I, for one, will forever be indebted to you for your inspiration and clear concise, and realistic take on how to do this thing. My family is grateful. Not where I want to be yet, and I’m exhausted, but I’m actually taking action and getting after what I truly want! Thanks Brian! A thousand times over, thanks. Your fanbase loves you!
I've never once thought you have been gatekeeping. All your videos seem to be realistic of starting a card shop business. The fact that you've been successful should be clear that it wasn't "easy". Most people don't get "rich" by taking the easy way out lol. You've also clearly said multiple times that being online only and working from your house is a big help too. I think people are just jealous tbh.

Not me doing a double take thinking he said "PokeBeers". lmao
He works so hard when a new set drops because he sells out of and has to ship the entirety of the product he just received as fast as possible. New sets sell out instantly.
Hey brian, question, unless i missed this video, can you please make a vid where you revisit your new year predictions of last year and what came out and what not. You said you would and i am curious too see😊. Love your vids
love this content, people who wanted to start a business already did. I would love more in dept talk like this instead of how to start ( only my worthless opinion )
Honestly been loving your videos! I did have one question though, I tried to look up that "3m" you referenced but I'm not finding much about this in the wix articles. I did see a wix article about "3D Secure (3DS)" could this be what you were referring to? I would like to implement something like this on my store because chargebacks are something I am the most worried about(since I started recently). Again, love the vids! Gives me something to listen to in the background while also making sure I'm aware of what is to come.
Brian here is a hot take. You are a very sucessful Pokémon card business owner but that would pale in comparison in the revenue you would generate from shampoo and conditioner commercials. Don’t do the 2 in 1 products unless you charge them double!
He started years ago when distribution wasn't as hard to get. He kept those distributors by purchasing stale product that no one else would take off their hands.
And you won't right now unless you have a Brick & Mortar. You need to learn the market, get savvy, and order as much wholesale as you can. What you can't get from wholesale, you need to source at the best prices you can find, or just don't sell it. Not sure what your budget is, but that's how it's going to work right now. Good luck in your endeavors!
I think people who comment so negative on your videos are just not capable of transferring what you give them to start their Business coz they dont have the wits like you do. Your Vids are great and have a lot of info to actually get going but of coz it needs the personal investment and stamina to get really through with it. I would do it but i dont live in the Country that allows me as i am not native here…lol
No offense, just honest observation. This channel just looks similar to something like a trust fund kid telling you how to get rich. Lol You have access to american distributors. Which is a wildly exceptional advantage and exception that 95% of online sellers won't have. Although it is difficult to run that business regardless. Not knocking your hustle. You give great info. But I think that's an important detail that most people tend to overlook.
The truth is 99% of your videos about "managing a business" have much lower views, likes etc. than simple hype train videos, reels about new sets, clickbaits or hot takes. You try to make a unique content but the reality is, this is another hype driven channel which brings nothing new to the table. Same old drama in different clothes.
My first year in business as an LGS - we did $360k, I remember that a 60 day delay on turning product that normally turned in 3 days, had almost sunk the business. Bills would become due and new product launches were popping off. Cash flow delays are brutal when you are just getting into things.
99% are here for the biceps 😅 the sleeves keep getting shorter
That shirt had sleeves at one time....had
Na not 99%. I’m thinking 60% hair and 55% biceps. Trust me this math checks out 🥸🥸🥸
The asymmetry always throws me off and distracts me^^
Just go shirtless at this point lol
We'd all be ripped if we lifted cases too
Its like saying someone's gatekeeper being a professional body builder. The information is out there but the majority arent going to put in the effort.
Dude! I love your videos! You’re honest about how much work it is to start and own your own businesses. Love to see what you having coming up in the future.
You're not lying about the risks. Still insane that PayPal or Wise are really the only way to pay for overseas orders.
Hey Brian! Been a minute since we last did business!

Nothing better then a PokeNE video while packing orders!
You share all this because it takes a lot of work and knowledge. These people have no clue how much you work, knowledge and stress it is to run a TCG business. 😅
Gate keeping is only being able to get Pokemon from only 4 different supplies and they get to pick and choose who and how to distribute it all…
You need to talk about the risk of your shoulders not fitting through doors.
This should be the first video any one who wants to start a Pokemon business must watch. This touches a lot of areas I found out the hard way. Thank you sharing your experience, I am also going thru these challenges and this does give me some mental peace.

Damn that sounds rough
How you hanging?
I thought I been going through it lol
Prayers up for you brotha

Fantastic video really appreciate your candor and information. Thank you!
Bro, what a great video. I really appreciate your transparency as I watch you. Remind me a lot of myself keep up the great work.
I remember subscribing to you at like 2k. Let’s go Brian 👍🏻
Thanks for the content and motivation to start. Looking forward to investing this year.
Super excited. The hobby is alive and in a REALLY good spot right now!!!
Thanks for the TF my man you always hook it up quick and at the best price
Honestly, I don't see how anybody can view your channel as anything other than extremely authentic documentation of your experience.
You always keep it real! Thanks and do the rental properties 100%
always enjoy your content bro. Happy New Year
Your content is worth so much 🙏
1st the credability check shirt... this year you need the shredability sleeveless
One of my fav vids from you thanks 👊
You've always come across as honest and straightforward to me. If I'm wrong, I guess I'm just gullible af.
By the way Danny gave you praise recently with your business and your website.
The last 6 seconds of the video were the best!
What was the business finance tracker you used. Looked clean and simple.
In England Nexus as you call it is 90k£ once you turn over 90k£ a year you need to start charging VaT to customers
I think it is hard for people to see someone happy and doing what they love and being genuine and generous with info. Love your content no BS. Haters gonna hate 😅
Thank you for keeping it REAL
Awesome and helpful intel- thanks Brian! Ways appreciate ya! ❤❤
Good video i now never wanna do a business in this I'll just keep sealed investing then selling myself on FB or to my LGS
Hey Brian do you respond to emails from the site contact form?
Definitely a lot of risk, currently have my store for the past 3 months. I wired someone around 2k worth of stuff which for me is a lot of money when starting out. Previous transactions went smoothly so I was like this will be just fine.
Nope got scammed, he dipped...
Wow

Genuine, honest, solid, useable business info. Big ol “gatekeeper” ? SMH… haters gonna hate.

Love the vid man 🐐
Are you working so much when a new set drops because you want to maximine profits or because you have to to be profitable at all?
He works so hard when a new set drops because he sells out of and has to ship the entirety of the product he just received as fast as possible. New sets sell out instantly.
real ones are here because we love you and your perfectly coiffed hair 💙
Hey brian, question, unless i missed this video, can you please make a vid where you revisit your new year predictions of last year and what came out and what not. You said you would and i am curious too see😊. Love your vids
This is the first video I saw of yours and I like your hair by the way. :)
The year is 2028, Timmy tcg has overtaken PokeNe and there’s rumors of a merger.
love this content, people who wanted to start a business already did. I would love more in dept talk like this instead of how to start ( only my worthless opinion )
Thanks for the information. It helps

What if I charge sales tax as a default? Even though I don’t touch nexus?
That can be worse actually in some circumstances.
i sell singles and its already hard😥... I wish I can focus more time on the things i love doing most.
You'll definitely get your money back if you have Saul on your side 😂😂😂😂
I now know what nexus thresholds are
I just joined your channel I'm hoping to get some positive feedback as to what product to buy for a quick flip
This was a good one
just got off from bicep curls and dumbbell curls
The ETB above your shoulder is showing out of stock on your website.
Yep, totally a scam 😢
wow first time i am hearing about chargeback scams. Man people do have their way to cheat for money. The more you know
18:00 shout out the sugar mamas in the hobby who let us do Pokemon full time 🚀
Idk why, but I love sharing my knowledge and love seeing others' levels with my contributions. Though, my mentor, Jim Rohn, says I shouldn't.
Brian here is a hot take. You are a very sucessful Pokémon card business owner but that would pale in comparison in the revenue you would generate from shampoo and conditioner commercials. Don’t do the 2 in 1 products unless you charge them double!
So how did you get distribution not being brick and mortar? In California it’s impossible without brick and mortar to get distribution
He started years ago when distribution wasn't as hard to get. He kept those distributors by purchasing stale product that no one else would take off their hands.
I'm trying to start, and it's hard cuz i can't find any distributors
Same

@@lMod4Fun thank yo, I'll keep trying. I'm hoping a distro sellers me stock for my garage business.
you should have done this from the start
Nice pump!! Guns looking good bro.
Cool. Link the plug
Whoa buff guy 💪

Where is the workout course? Lol
When you have your own in house accounting department. LMK and ill send over my resume!
8:01 🔥
You definitely bounce around a bit. One video, I never said to start a business. Next day, do this to start a business.
saw the whole video and couldnt hear a damn thing over those biceps
Well for one it brings him more customers smh
What happened to the other young lady you hired before?
Bro, you’re a scalper not a business.
Yea…..
i accuse you of things!
What about licensing? Do you need a permit to walk around with those guns?💪🏼
You’re like the anti-gatekeeper
Only you can truly harm your own business if you are doing it properly assuming you aren't being sabotaged or something haha.
a guy with those biceps i can never consider a grifter or gatekeeper
NICE GAINZ BROOOOOOO!!!
Keep it up 👍 👍
Mr. Petite tiny legs😂😂😂😂
Not necessarily need to teach people to do business like you tho. Just give us the option and we will take it or not.
The guns are distracting. Had to listen without looking at the video.
Woah guns look out 😂 thanks for your dimes you drop👍
No offense, just honest observation. This channel just looks similar to something like a trust fund kid telling you how to get rich. Lol

Suns out guns out
I’m so small. And ditched PayPal. Really wanted to fist me. No thanks.
Does local law enforcement watch your house. Hope you stay safe and noone tried funny business with your stockpile of pokemon
