Lots of good ideas there. I'm a fan of the ss screw. All my nest boxes have an access door held tight with a stainless screw and each year when I'm up the ladder there's no issue undoing them
Thank you, I love the stainless stuff, our local supplier is very well socked with it and has a self service policy. Every time I buy some I get more than I need and am building up a good stock of useful sizes myself. He does not have M3.5 though. I ordered brass because it is easier to machine. Many years ago us lads got loads of brass woodscrews from somewhere and my Dad used them for all his diy round the house, thirty years later it was so easy to undo them, big learner for me there.
