In the mid-eighties, I remember my mom getting ready for work while listing to this entire album. Blow dryers, teased hair, big earrings, jewelry, shoulder pads, crazy boots and dope make-up. What a special time for music.
it was 1986. I went to Cherelle's concert with a friend. During this cut, she called out to the ladies to pick a guy to sing this to...you guessed it. went on stage wearing my fly ass outfit. Crowd hollered. I was taking it all in being all of 25 years old. She sang the hell outta that song & music was thumpin hard. was only a minute or two, but she teased & tantalized me wearing a BADASS black outfit...No lie, Cherelle LOOKED GOOD!!! Was my brief moment of fame. LOL
I love Cherrelle. I have always felt like she was the work horse, the one Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis worked things/sounds out with and Janet was the one who got all the fame. Don't get me wrong, I love Janet but Cherrelle is the one with the real voice. She deserved to be a bigger star. I jam to all her music to this day...
Still can't get over how the brother was a Retro “Harry Bellefonte" resemblance ... absolutely love the concept of this M🎶Vidd when it debuted 30rty2wo years ago. Classic & Timeless!!♪🎵♪!!
CHERRELLE’s sharing that ENERGY she gives fans with every note she sings...and we’re still FEELING that liveliness every time we hear you sing today...GREAT VOCALS ❤️
First name singers early back then, Sonny & Cher, Cherelle, -, Pebbles, and Prince and Junior...Did I miss anyone? I'm sure I did...Where my old school classic -music peeps at?? Old school music for life!!😊
i won a dance contest due to this song, back in the day! I had my haircut the same & totally threw down some moves. I agree with the other comments, Cherrelle had more talent & a much better voice than alot of other singers.
Cherrelle was super talented and beautiful - I would have loved to see her go into movies or at least make an attempt at it. There was a lot of talent there; maybe more than she knew, as is usually the case.
Cherrelle and Alexander on Unsung, they were so amazing together but both had sad stories just like all of us do. Thanks for the amazing music and memories! xoxo
Man, I barely remember this song as a I was a runt when I heard it, so hearing it now still sounds 'new'. This tune out-jams a lot of today's stuff. UA-cam got this one right.
Don't know why people feel they have to compare singers and hate so much. Cherelle was very successful as a recording artist live on the pop & r&b charts worldwide. She had some big hits & was also a songwriter. Her career would've been bigger had persevered in the touring which she did not. Janet Jackson was famous since a kid. As a singer she always toured behind every hit & seldom missed a performance. Now Cherelle never got a lot of music awards its true but, that's not everything.
Man!! I remember being a little kid bobbin my head to this jam riding in the car w/ Moms! lol. on the way to school!! For some reason I can still smell cigarettes!!
I Remember Cherrelle, Rick Ran and Dan from Detroit, especially the fountain courts, love all her songs, her songs bring back so many memories, and I still listen to them all.
JJ AND TERRY LEWIS GAVE THAT SOUND TO CHERYELLE 1ST BUT SHE DIDN'T HAVE CROSSOVER APPEAL LIKE MOST GREAT BLK SINGERS OF THAT TIME. JANET DID SO SHE TOOK THAT SOUND TO THE MASSES ALONG WITH KAREN WHITE TO A LESSER DEGREE
i was around when both women were being played on the radio. my opinion is Janet was all about finding herself and becoming a woman. i believe this is what attracted her to the young girls experiencing the same thing. Cherrelle, sang about female adult issues. i can appreciate her songs more today, than i can to Janet jackson's song "nasty". Saturday Love is golden.
Since day day one, I've had loved "Cherrelle"saw at the Apollo that summer when this single dropped and back-Up group "The Pretty Boys"it was on that night...
What a great song. And yes, definately Party Train/Early in the morning by GAP Band is all over this production. Jam & Lewis shaped a lot of the 80 club sound, but this is borrowed. Nothing wrong with that.
Met Cherrelle in the early 90's She should have been a SUPERSTAR J&L were to wrapped up in MS J Her voice is so pure I hope one day I can take my kids to hear her sing in person

Love 💕 Cherrelle, she deserves more love from the game 🎮.. Calibama , the 80s nothing can compare.
Cherrelle was one of my favorite singers in the 1980s. I love Saturday Love with Alexander O'Neal. The 1980s has some great music.Great times.
2024 brings back memories🎉❤❤❤.

I agree
Definitely had a wider range than Janet 👍
Both of them were at Flyte Tyme Studios thanks to Jam and Lewis
This was one of the best 80’s dance tracks at the clubs. What a great decade to be a clubber.
It was THE song that kicked off the Saturday night Dance Party at Yesterday's in Hickory, NC.

Agree, smoothest dance song ever !
Still can't get over how the brother was a Retro “Harry Bellefonte" resemblance ... absolutely love the concept of this M🎶Vidd when it debuted 30rty2wo years ago. Classic & Timeless!!♪🎵♪!!

This is still a bad ass hit from back in the day " Ms Cherrelle."
This is still fresh as back in the day. Damn I miss her magic.
Cherrelle had it going on back then. Talk to you later. I'm listening to her right now! Peace!

CHERRELLE’s sharing that ENERGY she gives fans with every note she sings...and we’re still FEELING that liveliness every time we hear you sing today...GREAT VOCALS ❤️
Cherelle, always rock'd it with two of the baddest producers in the industry having her
back... Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, she could never lose!
First name singers early back then, Sonny & Cher, Cherelle, -, Pebbles, and Prince and Junior...Did I miss anyone? I'm sure I did...Where my old school classic -music peeps at?? Old school music for life!!😊
Got to go to the other side of the spectrum of music as well. Madonna is the only one I can come up with right now.
@@JosefDaniels32 Hello... I forgot Sylvester and also Taco.....I think the singer "TIFFANY" was out around the same time Madonna was as well😊
Syreeta, Sybil
Chrelle didnt mess around! Great artist
i won a dance contest due to this song, back in the day! I had my haircut the same & totally threw down some moves. I agree with the other comments, Cherrelle had more talent & a much better voice than alot of other singers.

Hey this is FANCY RAY McCLONEY and that's me on keyboards. Fun 2 day shoot.
Jam and Lewis were on location.
Great song/video - fond memorie!
Cherrelle and Alexander on Unsung, they were so amazing together but both had sad stories just like all of us do. Thanks for the amazing music and memories! xoxo
That entire cd was fire!
Man, I barely remember this song as a I was a runt when I heard it, so hearing it now still sounds 'new'. This tune out-jams a lot of today's stuff. UA-cam got this one right.
It's like Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis was hanging out with the Gap band when they wrote this song.
Party Train on your mind?
You’re right on the nail on this one!!!👍👍👍😂👀

Agreed! She was in a class all by herself. Fell in love as a child and still love me some her to this day.
I love her and Alex singing together too!! She's amazing!! xo
Agreed
I remember when this used to come on Video Vibrations.
Damn i forgot about Video Vibrations
The 80's Lady........Cherelle rock'd it out.!!!!!!
This is so timeless! Love this song & video!!!!!
Played the shit out of this ...while stationed in Germany. Definitely can hear the influence of Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis.
Neil Garret Ft Hood ,Texas
I absolutely 💖💖💖 Cherelle!
Man!! I remember being a little kid bobbin my head to this jam riding in the car w/ Moms! lol. on the way to school!! For some reason I can still smell cigarettes!!
Cherrelle always LOOKed GOOD 2 ME! She still does in 2018! She is not that old!
This song reminds me of my aunties when they used to party in the 80s. SMH I Miss The 80s!! #mychildhood
Kind of reminds me of "Party Train," by the Gap Band, now that I hear it again after decades.
Good song..
I Remember Cherrelle, Rick Ran and Dan from Detroit, especially the fountain courts, love all her songs, her songs bring back so many memories, and I still listen to them all.
Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis musical geniuses Cole's and Civilles musical geniuses from my time period
Love her!!! Real music!!! 👍👍👍❤❤
I do miss the 80s!
Man, she had the voice!
Such gold and a rarity.
I can still spin this and get a party jumping ☺️☺️☺️☺️

Aaah the 80's ☺
the first lady of Flyte Tyme, sorry janet
looking forward to seeing her this sunday in Toledo! I need my 80s therapy!
she looks like she's having so much fun! I wish I was grown in the 80's, just an 80's baby tho.
anyone ready for a cherrelle/jam/lewis reunion in 2014?????.peace.
Classic '85 looks !!! Awesomely badddd rift ......loved jammin to this back then ! ....and still sounds great !
How could song NOT make #1????
+Charles Thompson easy it was a lot of competition back then.
+Charles Thompson My opinion, Jimmy and Terry took on Janet Jackson around the same time and cultivated HER...which, as you know, is history.
Great video 👍👍
the dancing ♥♥♥
Do it cherrelle diva, diva, diva this is true 80's style she jamming that shit
The music sounds like Gap Bands "Party Train" but that makes since Ronnie Wilson & Lonnie Simmons were her producers.
This song was produced by Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis
King Mojo actually Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis were her producers.
I think the crossover you hear might be The Time's Dr. Fink on keyboards, possibly Steve Cox from the Dazz Band too.
or either Early in the morning
Cherrlle and Pebbles were the Fly chicks back then.
This songs is STILL getting down in 2019!
Cherrelle, is still HOT @ 50! She looks great and I will always admire her....
I saw Cherrelle recently on television and hot damn, if she still doesn't look GOOD to me!
i was around when both women were being played on the radio. my opinion is Janet was all about finding herself and becoming a woman. i believe this is what attracted her to the young girls experiencing the same thing. Cherrelle, sang about female adult issues. i can appreciate her songs more today, than i can to Janet jackson's song "nasty". Saturday Love is golden.
She is back!! This woman looks and sound GOOD!!! We partied in Pittsburgh at at the 2023 Pittsburgh Jazz Fest. #Cherellesoundsgood
Since day day one, I've had loved "Cherrelle"saw at the Apollo that summer when this single dropped and back-Up group "The Pretty Boys"it was on that night...
Love my 80's!!!
Got to give Rick, Ran,& Dan their props, their choreography had the world doing “The Snake”. Kudos to the “Maestros” Jam & Lewis!!!
Great song.
funk as hell i love it
What a great song. And yes, definately Party Train/Early in the morning by GAP Band is all over this production. Jam & Lewis shaped a lot of the 80 club sound, but this is borrowed. Nothing wrong with that.
Party train on drugs
Damn. Never thought of it sounding like not one, but two Gap Band hitters!
Sounds more like Control
I just realized that
I think I remember this song...I like it though.
I do remember this song. It sounds good to me...
Still here 2024 💫☀️✨ I was a baby when this came out and still love it!

Used to love this!
DAMN!!! I used to LOVE me some Cherrelle!!! SHE looked good to me!!!
Is it just me or has anyone noticed that this video kind of starts off like a 70's scary movie ?? It makes the video even MORE interesting !! 😀😀😃😃
Met Cherrelle in the early 90's She should have been a SUPERSTAR J&L were to wrapped up in MS J Her voice is so pure I hope one day I can take my kids to hear her sing in person
Underrated talent and beauty
2021 ya'll
The producer of this beat was heavily influenced by the GAP Band's Party Train!!! CAN YOU HEAR IT NOW?
Wow, Didn't mean to turn you own, waking through Bernards and Studio 67... Sitting Sitting back saying to yourself You Look Good To Me,
This song used to bring EVERYONE onto the dance floor!
If I remember correctly this video launched the dance we know as"the snake"!!
NEVER KNEW she did a vid for this! Thanks for posting!
Wow-- that's some hardcore '80s. :) Cool video. Cherrelle is cool.
The Serious Funk
Greatest dance song ever !!!!
I totally agree!! Love Cherrelle!!!!
I would have to say this has to be the best into ever 0:00 to 0:55. Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis knew how to bring it...
Sound like Early in the morning,by the Gap Band.............
The intro to" you look good to me" was worth the price of the album alone
Yes ma’am they don’t make music like this anymore!
This number would bring me onstage at the show
I love this song..
This a classic
