I am so glad toys r us is still here in Canada. I mean it’s literally THE toy store! An entire store that’s BIG and devoted to selling TOYS. It’s a kids dream. There aren’t any other stores as large or as awesome as Toys R Us. 🥰
I remember I was so sad and shocked when Toys R Us shut down. I wasn't one of those kids that had their own cellphones, and Toys R Us was heaven for me since it was so rare that we were allowed to get a toy.

Foxfried BS late fees? You do know what the word rent means? It doesn’t mean keep. You’re probably the same person that complains about overdraft fees when you spend money you don’t have.
I miss Borders and Payless Shoe Source! I got my textbooks from Borders and I saved so much money. Payless was one of the few places that plus size women could get shoes at a decent price. If they came back, I would be there with a quickness!
I miss Toys R Us, in my place Toys R Us used to give you brithday cards whenever its your birthday and with it, it gives you a gift card to buy any toys in the store. Good times. ☺️
Blockbuster would have managed to stay in business for the next century with the late fees I accumulated on the VHS copy of "Home Alone" I never returned in the early 90's.
Part of the problem, especially with these clothing companies are that they charge ridiculous amounts of money for their products. If a shirt costs $80, it’s probably too expensive for the general public. That’s why places like Target have become so popular
One of the reasons of that trend is mainly because people's disposable income was not only not growing but also getting eaten away by rising gas prices and the costs of living increases. All these businesses have one thing in common, there all luxuries, and when the people can't afford them they can't buy. Some of them may have poor leadership and customer service issues but if the pool of consumers that can pay shrinks that too is a pretty big nail in the coffin.
Think if the company has 5 billion in loans and it costs 6 billion to keep the stores up. They have to pay all money they make on debts. Its a waste to have the company running in that case. Its not worth it. Thats why companies close down.
They are bought by raiders and hedge funds because they have under-valued stock, raiders buy them, finance that under capitalization put the money in their pockets leaving the Company to declare bankruptcy because they didn't buy it to operate it, but just to suck it dry and run. The Gov/. needs to step in and stop raiders and crooked hedge fund mgr.
Toys R Us is a conflicting one, if you ask me. My parents used to buy stuff for me there and I loved Geoffrey the Giraffe. But, a lot of their products were more expensive than competing retailers like KB Toys and even Target, because it was run by rather greedy people who were responsible for its demise. Now, Target is resurrecting Toys R Us in the US, and that hopefully means their toys will be cheaper than before.
I remember going to blockbuster on weekends. I was born in 1993, and I remember a lot of these stores. It’s just sad as to what the internet, and bad leadership is doing to the retail industry
I was rly weird as a kid... my parents would take me to Toys R Us, I’d play for a while, they’d observe that I like the toy, until they were at the register, I started crying cuz I didn’t want it. I didn’t have many toys, but i was entertained for at least the hour or 2. Every single time, if my parents would pass KMART, I needed to go or else I’d go home crying... As I said, weird child
mikey toys r us is different than other toy brands. If you had a childhood with toys r us, you would understand. It’s like saying you need to sell something for a little extra cash. You have two pairs of shoes that would sell for around the same amount of money, the shoes you wore to your wedding, or an extra pair of shoes you wear for everyday use. Which would you sell? Probably the extra pair of everyday use shoes because they have no sentimental value, correct?
I loved A&P as a kid because the one I went to every-time time the vegetables would get rinsed by that sprinkler they added a sound affect and it would sound like it was thundering
Man I remember going to Payless whenever I needed new shoes and my mom had a rule it had to be under $20. I can't imagine buying shoes for under $20 today lmfao
I had good memories in Sears. I remember one time in 2013 I think going to the hardware section and trying to get lost on purpose, and I was hooked on Minecraft and got a Minecraft shirt and loved it. I would always explore the store. The Sears was connected to a mall so me and my parents would always exit through the entrance from the mall and get a cinnamon bun or pretzel. Man, good times.
Really multi,I feel like what killed Payless is that basically btwn Old Navy,Fast Fashion Stores,Target etc, there are a endless where you can get shoe's just as cheap as Payless. Payless never adapted, since they only sold shoe's they needed to offer something better or at least unique that their competitors didn't offer.
I remember I lived in Atlanta when I was little and my mom worked in a hair salon my dad would take me to toys r us because it was right across the street. I miss those days.

There is still one in Oregon or something
TempleofBrendaSong i still need to return a game 😂
Unfortunately my generation will be the last generation to know Blockbuster I'm only 15 and I remember it well
Well, there is one in Oregon sooooo
Foxfried BS late fees? You do know what the word rent means? It doesn’t mean keep. You’re probably the same person that complains about overdraft fees when you spend money you don’t have.
No one:
Literally no one:
Me: where's Kmart?
K mart is still here
I saw payless closing sucks
tbh
@@thekoala4700 it's closed just about everywhere in the US. It's probably only open where you love. Kmart was shutdown before I was even born 😔
Jackie Wallace We still have Kmart in NYC
There’s still Kmart in my area
I miss Borders and Payless Shoe Source! I got my textbooks from Borders and I saved so much money. Payless was one of the few places that plus size women could get shoes at a decent price. If they came back, I would be there with a quickness!
We have all these shops still in Qatar, yes, toys r us didn’t close, payless, or borders didn’t close here, so we’re fine.
YASSSS!! I would've said that!! So happy someone did because it means I'm not psycho 😂💖 Also that someone else lives in Qatar
ok, how much is the flight ticket from USA to Qatar?
I guess e-commerce shopping isn’t as strong in Qatar.
Good, you guys can keep 'em!
Mexico has blockbuster
I miss Toys R Us, in my place Toys R Us used to give you brithday cards whenever its your birthday and with it, it gives you a gift card to buy any toys in the store. Good times. ☺️
There’s a place called Canada it’s in Canada?
@@635x37 what if they’re a kid and can’t travel wherever they want to?
Blockbuster would have managed to stay in business for the next century with the late fees I accumulated on the VHS copy of "Home Alone" I never returned in the early 90's.
so thats why i got fired from the kwik e mart
Blockbuster be like "I'm gonna pretend I didn't see that"
Congrats, you're an irresponsible person.
Exactly
*ToysRus closes*
Canada: sorry can’t hear you I’m just enjoying this toysrus
You stole that didn’t you
that’s it i’m moving to canada
If Trump gets re-elected, I'm moving to Canada.

When a company is worth 5 billion, how do you go bankrupt?
Debt....
Think if the company has 5 billion in loans and it costs 6 billion to keep the stores up. They have to pay all money they make on debts. Its a waste to have the company running in that case. Its not worth it. Thats why companies close down.
TheLegendarySeal 123 makes sense
She’s so Lucky very well said, thank you for taking some time to educate us.
Toy-R-Us really hurt me a lot, when I was young it was about to close and I cried because it was just that good
Almost all of those stores are still alive here in southeast asia
Joaquin Andres R. Balbas lucky
And some in east
thts great, I'm in Southeast U.S. (Ga) & we only hv maybe a payless store lol

I don't care about other brand... But toys r us hit me hard .... It was my childhood...
i like blockbuster and payless shoesorue
Alexander Ponmpski Toys R Us is making a comeback but with smaller stores.
Alexander Ponmpski it’s open in Asia, including Qatar
Jeremy Zisman that’s all in Qatar too.
Toys are us is back however very small right now
It will grow soon, I know it will!
Well one just died F
Ree Domain why?
My Childhood has returned!
Salemchevy Gaming in Canada they never left and still hella big and filled with stuff
I remember when Toys R Us closed down. I didn't cry. I didn't scream. I just felt a deep, sorrowful sadness that childhood is fleeting.

I only got one from my family and i didnt get to pick it.

You guys get presents?
I was rly weird as a kid... my parents would take me to Toys R Us, I’d play for a while, they’d observe that I like the toy, until they were at the register, I started crying cuz I didn’t want it. I didn’t have many toys, but i was entertained for at least the hour or 2.
Every single time, if my parents would pass KMART, I needed to go or else I’d go home crying...
As I said, weird child
How fortunate
OMG! I remember Payless! It’s been so long since I’ve been in one and I always used to get my shoes there when I was little!

Yes they were well informed the Geek Squad sucks
The loss of Toys R Us sort of destroyed a nostalgic feeling of my childhood. A feeling that I loved because it made me feel young and happy.
you know toy shops are still a thing... right?
Toys R Us still exists in countries like Japan!
mikey, I know but in the U.S there are very few stores open.
noob168, I’m not in Japan, I’m in U.S
mikey toys r us is different than other toy brands.
While everyone comments about toys r us, I really miss Payless. Almost all my shoes were from there.
😢 My boots
@o no it’s still in canada
Yeah I got some of my shoes there
I live in the US and there is still a Payless. Bought shoes from there a month ago.
I loved A&P as a kid because the one I went to every-time time the vegetables would get rinsed by that sprinkler they added a sound affect and it would sound like it was thundering

Toys R' Us is still alive and somewhat well in Canada but they have a real issue with their online store sucking and late shipping of items.
Even in the Philippines.
Yep I know it super late
Cory Kamermans Honestly I can’t believe it’s still open here in Canada, most kids don’t even care about toys at all where I live anymore.
50 cent just took his son to a new Toysrus in new Jersey
Yeah that's true!

Because Payless closed I can’t find my shoes anywhere. 😑😩😭
Or Nordstrom Rack
Or the thrift store
Really multi,I feel like what killed Payless is that basically btwn Old Navy,Fast Fashion Stores,Target etc, there are a endless where you can get shoe's just as cheap as Payless. Payless never adapted, since they only sold shoe's they needed to offer something better or at least unique that their competitors didn't offer.
Multi Fandom shop on shoes.com
