  • Time to look back at the 23rd World Scout Jamboree which was held in the Yamaguchi Prefecture of Japan in July/August 2015. The theme was 'A Spirit of Unity' and 33,838 people attended.
Durham joined with Humberside county to send a combined unit of 36 young people and 4 leaders, known as Durham Humberside, Dumberside or Humberham (with badges for each). More adults from the county attended as part of the 7000 person International Service Team.
Most of the footage and photographs come from the members of the unit and the unit leaders. David Charlton filmed the member interviews and asbeil video. Other footage came from videos made available by the Luxembourg, German and UK contingents.
We take a look at the preparation camps and events, the journeys to and from the Jamboree, Home Hospitality, the opening and closing ceremonies, visits to Hiroshima and Tokyo, Jamboree life and at the reunion the unit members reflect on their personal highlights of the experience.
