Well no surprises, Luca Parmitano is a senior Italian army fighter jet pilot who landed a wrecked fighter jet without ejecting after a huge bird strike over France, he's not the average Joe, these people up there are no joke, they are heavily trained army people, no pussies allowed up there.
When you are an astronaut, or when you work in the space control center, rule number 1 is: NEVER PANIC. It is useless to overreact when you have an emergency situation, you risk worsening the situation
He went back to the airlock without being able to see and communicate anything. He used just his knowledge about the station structure! The training were so useful in this case
The astronauts wear a cooling system inside their spacesuit during a spacewalk. When the astronauts are outside the ISS sometimes they are exposed to direct sunlight - which can get very hot! For this reason they need cooling inside the spacesuit.
He said it was cold water, but you say it gets hot. Whatever... the water was cold because water prevents heat? What? If the water prevents heat, why was the water cold? Water preventing heat is not a good idea, water gets hot when exposed to heat. Why doesn't the water boil? Water gets hot when exposed to heat. Did you know that? Try putting water on a stove and see how long it stays cold.
Wow - I never knew this happened! It's must have been very scary to not know what is happening that far in to the mission. I would say he handled it very well.
They are very impressive, often described as spaceships in their own right. I am not sure if they are latest generation - you would have to ask NASA about that.
good Morning Luca...Have a nice Time...on the ISS ...Italien-astronaut in space...great.Wonderfull momenst as your drive off the ISS..Hier ist die Funke..Delta...
The event involving astronaut Luca Pamitano outside ISS is so risky and challenging. My admiration to astro _seal for his composure and fruitful action to help his co astronaut.
It reminds me in the tolkein books, where Frodo pushed through and remained brave even in the fires of Mordor. Astronauts everywhere, be our Frodo, we're counting on you!!

What concerns me is that they speak about water leaking into the helmet from a bad seal BUT they don't tell us where the water is coming from. Saying they're in a tank is drawing a very long bow they are jumping to an unfounded conclusion but I want NASA to tell us where the water is coming from, surely we're owed some sort of explanation.
They didn't explain the problem where water came from. Baby the circulation system was not functioning properly. Can someone put some more explanation please?
Engineers found that the source of the water leak was a clogged filter, however, they are not sure what contaminated the filter in the first place. at least, that's what I found.
NASA repeats the word "water" over and over but all I want to know is, WHERE IS THE WATER COMING FROM ? Maybe I'm missing something I need to know that one thing WHERE IS THE WATER COMING FROM ?
If you want to laugh listen at 2:45 when a NASA astronaut describes the helmet to their space suit.. I’m not convinced NASA trains recruits the most educated to be astronauts lmao
Luca Parmitano was so amazing in that moment! So calm, so reactivate and with a huge self control. He and all the crew up there are heroes.

It was Luca's second EVA, but nevertheless, we are of course all relieved that he is ok.

Ok, understood, man on the moon... 50 years ago, yes of course...

not luck, good training, procedures and decision making.
Fear is for the people without knowledge. These people have huge knowledge.
Luca Parmitano really had a excellent reaction. He is truly a exemplary astronaut
Wow - I never knew this happened! It's must have been very scary to not know what is happening that far in to the mission. I would say he handled it very well.
they're trained to do so, yes they are very-very great at their job
I love your hairstyle when fly in space! 😊

How do you get the water out of the suit, though? Just simple paper towels?
NASA's space suits are pretty old, they date back to the shuttle.
@@erosson27 The base suit is from the Shuttle, it was updated in the late 90s for the ISS.

I'd like to see a continuous helmet video of the astronaut going through the "air-lock" please, where is it?.
Wow, imagine telling the story "I nearly drowned in space..."!!!!
It's a nightmare that Luca was able to overcome thanks to his training, staying calm and the help of his crew mates.

4:25 impressive
Alright so, I understand what happened, but how did it happen? How did the water get there, was it just a faulty cooling system?
the water is for cooling, the helmet has a small slit through which water enters the helmet
If that happened to me while being in that suit, I would drown in my own shit instead of the water :v
pipodebeuker 🤣🤣🤣🤣
What is it that you take from Station for UK

cool, thanks for the info . let me ask: are these space suits latest generation? they seem prety impressive
Lol
sadly, they are very old, it's time for new suits!
It would be so unlucky and crazy to die drowned in space! XD
and with just a few drops of water! you don't even need to fill the whole helmet... the water sticks to your face...

Does anyone know where the water came from?
His cooling tubes.
The cooling tubes
So was the water poisonous, or he could have drink it?
I don't think it got as far as to his mouth.
HOUSTON WE HAVE A PROBLEM..WATER IN MY SPACESUIT 👩🚀
I didn't understand the ORIGIN of the water. I understood what happened once in the helmet
It was the suits cooling tubes.
the water is for cooling, the helmet has a small slit through which water enters the helmet to regulate the temp.!
So what caused the leak?
After 6 years, you'll get the answer haha.
Basically, there was a leak in the refrigeration system of the space suit
Still absorbing events! Lol
Hahaha fantastic
2023 still waiting
It's all about teamwork ! On the ground and aboard :)

Or do u mean in the station? It's re-used
Working on a video going into this question.

OMG his last name is Parmitano??? For the longest time I thought his name was Luca Parmiggiano....you know like the cheese LOL
Did you turn a valve in his suit to turn the water off? So many questions nasa,So smart !!!!
I don't believe it's known yet.
I just so want to go to space.. ^-^
ehat happens if you start sweating in space?
no one can smell you!
Cool
cooling system? so there is a cooling system in his space vest? for what purpose.?
stewart hughes because they could get hot being in direct sunlight.
and btw your suit is quite thick
@Danwal - Haha... I think that's a good one : "thick" ... it's not about the suit is it ? But about something else is "dense"... his head ?
Orlan
Clearly they were simulating a spacewalk for the camera in a tank of water.
Why doesn’t Karen put her hair in braid or something? Don’t they get in her way or other crew members hair?
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
