The bass is so loud I love it. They were one of the few metal bands that were still doing well during the grunge era. Nirvana had come out a year before this performance. I have so much respect for them not compromising musically during that time.
You can barely here him sometimes they need to turn his mic up more because in a lot of live shows the guitars drown out his voice but in this video everything is at that perfect volume
My big brother used to play this song a lot in the 90s. I liked rap back then. But after listening to my brother play Megadeath . I quit listening to rap music and started listening to Megadeath. As well as other heavy metal bands. ☝️😜
Thank you so much for this. This was a great performance to introduce the world to this epic album. It has been slightly over thirty years since I last saw this no joke. I can still remember the one and only time I saw it when it came on at my friend's house who had MTV that summer of 1992. This lineup for some reason and I can't pinpoint why is still my favorite lineup of Megadeth. Every lineup though Megadeth has ever had has really been phenomenal. Dave really knew how to pick great players to continue this band for so long. Megadeth truly are one of the great heavy metal bands of all time.
The bass guitar is really audible in this mix. *Just don't tell Lars please, seriously.* Megadeth sound so friggin cool here in this performance with David's bass cutting through like that.

the show was called "HANGIN' WITH MTV'. it used to come on @ 3 or 4 pm. daily. I guess you can say it was kinda like trl before trl. I remember this episode, they also did "skin o' my teeth after this.
Dave I know it must of hurt so bad being kicked out of Metallica. And being in the shadows of there profound success and global exposure while u were in “shadows”. But it truly was one of the greatest gifts to the metal world. Imagine no megadeth? And just Metallica. No peace sells, tornado of souls, symphony, trust. Like fuck. And if u didn’t form megadeth the world probably would of never been blessed with Marty’s outrageous guitar solos.
What about Nick’s insanely powerful and unique drumming, I feel like Nick doesn’t get enough credit, Dave was such a bastard asshole to Nick, treated him like shit and fired Nick way worse than James n Lars fired Dave, then he becomes a chronic liar saying Marty left Megadeth because Dave wanted to make a heavy album after Risk and Marty wanted to go do “j-pop” Marty Left cuz Risk was Dave’s lame idea. And after Nick Was fired the band honestly fell apart, all was Dave’s fault. The only albums that could stand up to Tallica was Rust in Peace, Countdown, Youthanasia, Cryptic Writings, everything else doesn’t come close to Metallica, fuck Dave!
Yakuza Ohtani I didn’t know that about nick n Dave. But I agree with u, there’s a lot of young idiots who just get on board this Metallica sucks megadeth rules, Metallica sold out, megadeth is so thrash. It’s just like reallly? Megadeth stayed thrash, wtf was risk and the world needs a hero? They changed up there style just like Metallica did, only not so good. Load n reload r great albums if u just appreciate them for what they r, hard rock. Not thrash. N yeh I had no idea Dave did that to nick, what a shame, band was so tight with him. N yeh how many guys has Dave fired? Haha
@@yakuzaohtani3631 Dude you good? I used to be like you, not liking Megadeth and saying Peace Sells was shit and whatnot. Then i actually LISTENED to Peace Sells. The album, not the song, dumbass. I bet you haven't even listened to a single Deth album in its entirety. James and Lars could NEVER, NEVER write a musical magnum opus like, basically, almost all the songs on Peace Sells. The closest they were to accomplishing it was with Orion, Call of Ktulu and maybe TLiTD but even that song was partially written by Burton. If you take a closer look to all Metallica songs, they are all more simple and follow a basic structure, like they don't want to throw away the verse and the chorus. But Megadeth songs? Like what, 6 different ideas on a single song? Specially Peace Sells. Best examples i can think of, Wake Up Dead and Good Mourning (Black Friday). Peace Sells is actually the most rudimentary song in the album. The rest introduce new and interesting ideas at every section. Dave Mustaine's solos were very creative at the time, also, and Poland was an absolute beast. 100000x better than Kirk, in terms of phrasing, taste and technical skill. And don't even get me started on Rust in Peace. Now of course, Rust throws away this idea of introducing new riffs at every second because i'd say it's more COMMERCIAL. The shit they did in Peace Sells was almost Progressive Rock levels of giving the song a new direction, you know, tempo changes mid-song, weird time signatures, different motifs and colors for every section, etc. They just did that occasionally in Rust, for instance, the transition to D Phryigian Dominant on Hangar 18 (Marty's solo) or the thrashy riff at the end of Five Magics, but now that i think of it that song as a whole is very proggy. But the general composition of the album is PURE MUSICAL RICHNESS. Metallica NEVER did something like that. They'd just have their few musical bits and that's it. The rest of the songs were usually very monotone, and to be honest, Kirk's solos always sounded like crap to me. Now don't get me wrong, Metallica is good, but Megadeth is GOD-LIKE in terms of musicianship. I appreciate you're open minded enough to like Load and Reload, but you should learn to appreciate Megadeth a bit too. Post 1997 Megadeth tho? That shit whack. It's like they threw away their whole musicianship for the money. Not to mention Friedman didn't even want to be in the band anymore. He did want to make j-pop, that's one of the reasons he left the band. He stated "when you make metal your music has to be gunshot-grey, and i like to paint my music all yellow's and red's" or something like that.
@@thalamusDecimation Dude wtf r u talking about, megadeth is barely a band. Killing is my business was a great 80’s thrash album, peace sells was a great album. That solos must be hell to play because I've seen many live vids on here and I haven't seen one yet where other Megadeth guitarists or even Friedman does the solo 100%.
This track is fucking nasty live. I was late when it came to picking up this album as I found it in 2002 when I picked up Iced Earth's Alive In Athens. This album Megadeth was fully collaborative as the entire band took turns writing tracks.
Nice performance, one of the best I've heard, really like Ellefson backing vocals. But can someone answer me something, what's the song playing at the very end of the video? (The guitar solo that's been played, and is it Slash playing?)

it could also be their mixing for tv. would hire him 100%.
