- RaRa came to the studio recently to do a shoot with Peter where they built a set, and test out the new constant LED lights he bought.

Ra gives those *cool with whatever* vibes. What more could anyone ask for during a photo session. Art in motion.
I love how much Rara has matured. She has all of the class and elegance of supermodels from decades ago. No offence Peter, but I would love to see what Lindbergh would have done with her.. Maybe a Lindbergh inspired shoot with Rara, Bec and Shai together? :P
I’ve been so inspired, and learned so much about strobes in the studio by watching your videos, now you’re gravitating toward continuous lighting. Oy! 😂
Strobes sharper
yaaay Rara, always fun seeing you two work together to create some awesome photos
Thank you!
Many thanks for this new behind the scenes video.
@B: Many thanks for assisting RaRa and recording the session. I wish you are making the most of your European trip.
@R: First, I hope you are fine; you kept me in suspense until you smiled a little bit at 5:17 and openly at 7:42. Many thanks for posing in this session; it has been a long time since you haven been in the screen. Many thanks also for the poses (you have a perfectly segmented body that produces incredible shapes, e.g. left leg full extended, and right leg retracted) and for the yellowish and ivory tones; I think they are the transition from BW to color, because I consider them as a natural extension of light BW tones. With other colors, I still have issues to find their meaning. Having said that, to my mind, you are the path from BW to color. BTW: Never allow anybody to tell you that you are lost, what happens is that we sometimes are the ones who lose ourselves in your gaze, and we find it difficult to find our way back.
@P: Very interesting the fact that we shouldn’t only care about providing light where we think it is needed, but also, we should pay attention to hide it where it is not desired. Very elaborated the way you configure the light against the different white sections, producing different white tones, especially the contrast that brings the vivid white shirt, without stealing the expression of the face. BTW: from my point of view, the photos from this session are much better in color.
Lovely results, Peter and team. Thanks for sharing!
Glad you enjoyed it
Peter, you are a master in body language! This is good stuff! 👍
Thank you
After so many sessions with RaRa, it's amazing Peter can extract yet more poses and get her to be so comfortable. Both did a great job.
Thanks heaps
Peter, do you have a psychology degree? You pose the model by having them change the way they feel rather than directing their movements. It’s amazing the way you establish a rapport with the model (especially RaRa) then work with them to get the shots!
Thank you, no I failed school 😊
Fantastic setup Peter, I work mostly with LED lights and glad to see more LED stuff
Awesome. I've been moving to LED's and I've really liked the recent content with them.
Funny, but that silly window in the back creates a whole story for the set. Adds so much.
Dunno if it's just me, but RaRa looked a little tired during this shoot.
Thanks as always for another tutorial.
Great vid
Pure elegance!!
nice video. those do look like handy little lights. maybe one day something like that will find their way to me...
White Dress shirt always works. Cheers!!!
One thing about Peter and Bec they’re always going to experiment 😎
Yes 😁
rara 😍
Awesome! Thanks for showing how important it is to take time to fix the lights. It makes a huge difference. RaRa's patience and skills helps too! Guess modelling is a lot of waiting. 😆Thanks guys! Hope Europe is treating you well!
Thanks for watching!
Very informative! Thank you...
Glad it was helpful!
Love this one - I learned so much about how you work with the model and any time when you are talking about getting those micro changes of expression is always useful. I love watching you work and how you interact with your models, Peter.
Thanks heaps
RaRa FTW
It always fascinates me that doing the little things off camera, like moving her fingers creates a different mood/attitude for her, which shows in her posing.
Yes every muscle movement the model does will affects their expression
That was interesting, having Ra do something with her fingers out of shot, to both distract her, and nudge her out of doing the same things in shot. Edit: I bet she takes this experience with her to enrich her next sittings... Edit 2: I now get why you can dismount the camera; the LED lighting is "RIGHT" and you can take advantage of it from more angles without having to worry about reflection angles as much.
I can’t but wonder at how far we’ve come with photography. I went back to film photography just for the hobby.
And watching you meticulously adjust the light with every shot. I’m just amazed by the shots. Did you shoot film in the beginning? And how does that differ from the digital age?
Just a random question.
Yes, it's just slower shooting film than digital
Thanks Peter. I'm curious if the use of continuous lights is you experimenting, or whether you think they're better than strobes for something like this?
in my studio I only think I will use them on overcast days so I have full control over the light
This is brilliant. A diffetent adaptation of Tent Lighting, I think. Very effective and beautiful light.
Thank you very much!

Always a pleasure... I'm not trading in my strobes thought. :-)
neither am I
Rara's face is really interesting..... she has really angular chin and cheek bones which give her that angular striking look and she has really intense eyes. Just really piercing and they grab your attention.
I can see why you guys work with her..... super cool model. Looks awesome :)
I’m curious how you use constant light without having the shot effected by the natural light of the studio?
I prefer to use it only on overcast days where I have a constant dull ambient light
Awesome :)
Thanks
Nice video Peter, as usual. Could you tell me what was your exposure at ISO 800?
f4 @ 1/125s iso 800
Peter,
It is not a lot money but I hope you will accept it and please tell the girls I said hello.
I am big fan...
For some reason I wasn't getting recommendations.
Thanks!

OMG thanks so much we really appreciate this, thank you
In my opinion, the lighting is too flat. The model and background aren’t really separated. There’s no subject isolation. Just because a model is young, female, and attractive doesn’t mean a photo of her is great. It just means she’s attractive.
and that's your opinion
@@PeterCoulsonPhotographer Fair enough. I do like your content, by the way.
Wow.
Nice pictures, but in my opinion, that table looks really out of place.
this is why my photos will always look different to yours
Plastic waste.
