If you liked this song, check out Gåte's entire discography! They are my favourite folk rock band and Gunnhild has IMO one of the best and most powerful voices in this genre. I've been a fan of their music since 2004. Another female-fronted Norwegian folk-influenced band singing in Norwegian (they are a bit more metal than rock) which you might like are Bergtatt. I'd recommend to start with their song "Huldra" (it's not the same song as Gåte's "Huldra"). Finally, I'd say that the Swedish folk rock band Garmarna (they started in the first half of the nineties) are also worth a try, if you like a mixture or Nordic folk and rock.
@@MissLoonasSpeech Don't forget the Norwegian band Folque which paved the way for all of them. Also, while they leaned much heavier into the folk than the rock element I want to give a shout out to Tiriltunga, another early band in this space, who had their time and renown cut short by the death of one of their members.

For context 2: the refering to the mountain in the song is linked with a pretty much ancient belief of supernatural beings living in mountains/the undergrounds that also have supernatural powers. These can be used both for good and evil. In Christian times, the 'mountain king' and his 'flock' if you will could be refered to the devil - or creatures of the devil. To vidt forskjellige ting.
Eit rop i frå hel
Mørket det batt
Forbanne di sjel
Be nåde for dei som blir att
Les ikkje i
Fanden sitt ord
Da fer han fri
Du fer til trolldom si jord
Med makt til å rå
og skade ei verd
Ord som kan slå
Men ikkje før du tek i ferd
Vil du så fred
Halde fram dyd
Fanden sitt kvad
Gjer deg sin skjendige fryd
Mørkt vil det bli
Vondemakt strir
til du i mot berget rir
Ref
Kva enn du vil
Dreg du i frå
Kva enn du får att
Er det mørkt omkring
Svart som evig natt
Ref A
Født for å stri
Berget kan bøte ditt fall
Ein frykteleg makt
I sjelelaus drakt
I bergveggen fast all si tid
Bru: Forbanne di sjel. Evig fortapt.
