Wheelchair Accessible Family Holiday to Spain - All Terrain Wheelchair stuck on the beach

- In this weeks VLOG we got to Alicante in Spain for some winter sun.
This was filmed in February 2019 and we were away for the winter half term break.
We stayed in a Hotel called HOTEL SPA PORTA MARIS & SUITES DEL MAR

It was just next to the beach and had the most amazing disabled bathroom (almost bigger than the bedroom itself. We went with a carer who had their own room and our room had an adjoining bedroom for little Thomas.
It was about 18 degrees most days , it was pleasant in the sunshine but a little chilly in the afternoon.
During this trip we spent most of the time either on the beach or exploring the town , it was out of season so a lot was closed but it was fun zooming around the streets.
We also went up to the castle Santa Bárbara Castle , there is a lift set deep into the rock which takes you right up to the castle and from there there was a great view of the town.
Also during the trip we took my all terrain power wheelchair on the beach. The soft sand meant that I got stuck despite my large 4x4 wheels after a few seconds of driving the smaller caster wheels would become dug into the sand.
I have type 2A Limb Girdle Muscular Dystrophy and use a power wheelchair to get around full time. Going away on holidays like this can be quite difficult as I need to be lifted on the plane and you are never quite sure how accessible the hotel room will be when you get there.
This trip was really stress free and my Magic Mobility Frontier V6 performed wonderfully (apart from getting stuck in the soft sand on the beach).

Did you have any trouble on the airplane or at the airport with the electric wheelchair? I am worried because of the batteries and I am unsure of going to vacation.
