I used to live next to the Columbia River and watch Toyota car carriers floating by with my son when he was young. a couple of decades later, I moved to Korea and met one of the ships' captains! Turned out that some of those Japanese ships were captained by Koreans. He showed me some pictures he had taken along the river and one of them had my house in it! It was a chance encounter on a small but beautiful Island, where he retired to settle and I was vacationing, that reminded me how small the world is.
We live near the Port of Hueneme. We watch the car ships come in. They are huge, but not as big as these. Very interesting. Thank you!!!

A recent video regarding these exact same vessels shows how prone they are and have been to catastrophic fires. Their cargo especially the EV's, once on fire, are near impossible to extinguish.Entire ships have recently been lost.
So these are basically parking garages on water that is cool

I wish you had more details about how the ships can be reconfigured for different types of cars. Instead, it was lots of buzzwords and generic material.
Generally, PCTC and RoRo vessels will have a combination of fixed and moveable decks, so they can accommodate either a large number of normal-sized cars or a smaller quantity of much larger cargo. But other than that there's usually not much cause to reconfigure the boat itself.
